Thank you sooo much for posting this! I'm going on a cruise on a budget and have a few pairs of shoes I never wear but I need a pair in gold so this was the perfect video! Thanks 😀
Thanks Linda! Not for the flats, they seem to be holding up fine. The heels aren't though. I'll have to figure something out for them and add an update.
I have some old lace flats that are a light mint color but they're dirty and won't wash out (Texas is full of dirt lol) so I want to revamp them and a shiny gold would look nice. Definitely going to try this out! Thanks for the tutorial!
Ingenious. They are so pretty now. Did they hold up to use? Because if they did this opens up the world of shoes and colors for me. I have hard to fit feet and am limited as to where I can get shoes and the color selection isn’t great. New sub here.
Thanks Julie!! The flats are great. The gold heels are ok but there are a few small areas where the gold came off a little. I have to figure out a better way to make sure the glue adheres. I think it's because they had a strong shine to them to begin with that it makes it harder to do. I will perfect this and give an update. Thanks for subscribing!
I did it one time on puma soccer shoes and it started flaking since it was too smooth. At least these ones are a cotton material on them. I just want to spray paint the whole shoe black if I can do it nice.
What happened when you painted the patent leather shoes before buffing them? I just tried to spray paint some Birkenstock and the paint just didn't want to dry... 3 days and it was still tacky. I've taken the paint off with acetone and will try again after sanding in hopes that works. Just wondering if that is what happened the first time with the Steve Madden shoes.
The paint dried fine on the Steve Maddens. They were good for a while. What didn't work so well was that they didn't last. The paint started to come off around the edges.
