Used stackers quite a bit in the last 6 months, I’m surprised to find how often there’s doors of different sizes in a house. One thing to note is with hollow core doors- the doors will bow if left too long on the stackers, and it can take quite awhile for the doors to dry being so close together in the stack.

This is interesting, but just like that bucket tilter can be replaced by some scrap wood, those stackers cam be replaced with a few pieces of thick narrow baseboard on the tops and bottoms

I use a similar product, door deckers, to paint doors when I have help to flip and move them. They aren't as wide, only a single handle, so possibly a bit less stable with larger stacks (I've never had any issues though) but there's also a larger gap between them for better air flow. Painting doors laying down is a lot more forgiving with how much paint you can apply. It isn't foolproof though, the underside can still sag and drip if your coat is too heavy. I'd be super nervous about spraying a door laying down outside though. So much potential for bugs or debris to find a spot to land.

I like those, might have to get some. I just sprayed 23 doors, had to transport them to my property to spray them, and stand up to spray. Then had to load them on a trailer to bring back to customers home. They live in a deeded community, can't do it on their property out side of the home. Those stackers would be good on small properties where I could actually spray outside without neighbors getting triggered.

I used to spray them standing up but I needed a lot of space for them which it can be an inconvenience but now I have a set for 20 doors and it’s easy to move the doors as well.

Great Video, I've also encountered doors of various sizes and lengths, alot of doors in some homes are not the same and not all carpenters are great at cutting evenly, sometimes floor transition, or high carpet pads gets in the way so it demands to cut the door shorter. Simple tip just number the doors on top or on the door hinge, when they are off and at the door trim same place where it came off from. Bugs love the smell of paint, especially when I spray a Shellac base, maybe the Engineers can formulate a better repellent for Exterior paints.

Been using 1x4’s to stack doors for years. Just a more economical way to spray them.

The stackers look cool, I would loosen the short doors screws until the spacers dock to the long doors and try to snug a little bit.

Cool note... It looks like even though you flipped the stacker around (to match nipples) from this video; that whatever way the stacker is facing on each end will still stack. As long as the ends of each side and what is underneath (left or right) ends are in sync, they don't technically need to be facing in the same position on both ends of the same door as long as the next door follows suit...

Hey Chris! Big fan. I have a question on full interior spraying. What do you spray first if there is crown on the ceilings, 4” baseboard w/ stained quarter round? Any advice is appreciated greatly! Thanks

I just use the little triangles pup tents as I call them....then as I paint each door I then move them to my tarp and lay them all out to dry....

I just bought those stackers to spray 20 doors. My question is have you ever Sprayed 8ft doors on those stackers?

I have to spray T1-11 type siding but due to the colder weather setting in the North East I will have to move the 4x8 sheets into my garage. The question I have is what can I do to prevent the paint from hardening in the gun in between coats. I have 30 sheets to do and limited space so I can do only about 4 sheets a night.

This is just a light weight door, what about big solid timber doors?

How long they are drying stacked so close? I did some custom stackers made out of metal profiles a bit more higher than these ones, had to spray 650 doors. Started hating spraying tbh.

I enjoy watching you spray. Just seems like you should avoid all the prep and clean up by rolling the doors and laying off with a brush. No screws or stickers needed and when it's done it's done. Still think your spraying setup is top notch though, u are a grafter. 👍

OK… Everybody shows how to paint doors… Nobody shows the most efficient way how to paint the door frames/jams on new construction houses. I’m a trim carpenter, but getting into painting my own work
