Tiger Foam in Canada sells their 600sq foot kit for about $ 750.00. These kits are a one time only use and are disposable . Replacement product tanks cannot be purchased, Tiger Foam suggests purchasing a new kit when you run out of product. This kit only covers a space 24.5 feet by 24.5 feet, not much, when you consider the cost for each kit.
Pre frothed foams do not have atomised MDI. When making and testing these kits, we used sniffers to measure for unreacted MDI. The unreacted MDI was 4 parts per million, well below exposure requirements. Unfortunately This business has not ceased making the kits in Australia. Imported kits are still available.
would you use this for insulating a van for motorhome conversion? noticed that this kit is quite expensive, which is why i wonder whether its the right solution for a van Thx
+Diego Kruger yes, closed cell would be best, because it takes up much less space for the same insulation, also a water and air seal. a van conversion is already tight space, want to save as much of it as possible. just make sure its closed cell and not open cell.
you should use the jet tip and do a picture frame then come back with the fan tip and fill in. you wont have so much over spray and it wont try and pull off the run while its seting up
Any problem with using this on the main or second floor in place of fiberglass batts in an area where the summer temperature gets to 40C/104F and the winter temperature gets to -40C/-40F?
we use a proper graco E-30 , with foam that comes in 500lb drums.. all in a custom built 5 ton truck. I sprayed for 3 years in Bermuda and on 1 job I had to use foam kits to fill fire rated doors frames for acoustic purposes. ours were icynene gold seal 400 portable sets. after following the installation guidelines to a T the foam still came out low grade. meaning it was not as dense as it would of been using a proper graco set up. the day before I posted on this video I had to spray over this same stuff under a floor. total cost of the sets was around the 2000$ mark and all he got was just over 1/2" . we went and sprayed on 6 inches of Home Foam .5lb foam for around 1200$ . what a homeowner thinks they are getting out of 1/2" of foam is beyond me.. bottom line is with the economy being so messed up right now foam companies are spraying foam at a very low cost .. they are licensed, warranty their work and from what you see here you get a lot more for less than a DIY . not to mention I am required to wear a full faced respirator while spraying foam for more reasons than one. when I see these guys using safety glasses and nothing else I cringe knowing what it feels like to get just a drop of 1 side of these in your eye.. if its mixed and you got it in your eye or eyes.. they're gone . this stuff will do some serious permanent damage if it gets the chance. I had an improper fit mask when spraying in Panama south America and spent 6hrs that night coughing uncontrollably as if I had just taken a drink of water and it went down the wrong tube... 6 hrs of that.. so when I see these guys not wearing a full face respirator with multi-gas cartridges I have to wonder ...and so should anyone considering using this product. I know for a fact many people have been injured installing foam and not taking proper precautions. 1 for example is when I was in Bermuda my employer was at a foam convention in the states and one of the other contractors there got a call that one of his sprayers had been blinded in both eyes. he went to do a touch up and didn't put on his fullface respirator, on the way up the ladder the trigger hit a rung and he was sprayed in the face...both eyes gone and they could hear the guy screaming 3 floors down in the hospital .. now put that same product in a homeowners hands.. and say a pet or a child runs in and he gets distracted.. it doesn't take much and there is no going back once the damage is done.
