I ain't gonna do mine White but with what you posted, Yeah, I am gonna do mine dark black & I am gonna have all my truss' powder coated black. Great video.
I have acquired an old pair of JBL's (control 12sr) and some AC Euro subs (18" Eminence drivers). I'm considering painting the subs as they are carpet covered and looking a little tatty due to age, but another thought I had was this; what paint (if any) could you use on the cones, so that they showed up through the black grills more? I'd paint them white no doubt. I had some old JVC hifi speakers about 1989 which had a 10" bass cone which was white with a black centre dust cap. They looked very striking. My thoughts were to make my speakers stand out, but not completely. I am a fan of the jet black PA look, but thought if I can make the cones show through they would be very distinctive. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated!
Great job. I’m thinking about using glow-n-dark spray on my 11 piece theater speakers. I have led lights behind my 120 inch screen that would provide proper light to highlight the paint. I would like to hear what prospective on this thought.
Thats interesting bro however Im not sure how the speakers will come out with the glow spray. If you can paint them without leaving streaks of lines than do it but glow n dark is tough and leaves all the minor spots that weren't covered correctly visible, you'll be driving yourself crazy respraying over and over. If it was me I probably wouldn't do it. If you end up spraying send me some pics, Id be interested in seeing how they came out.
Did you paint your watch too ? (LOL) Thank you for the video. I just bought new ALTO TS408 black. And looking to replace them with white speakers or painting them. I will dig further my search. Cheers !
My personal opinion on the speaker scrims is that it looks cheap. I do understand that not everyone wants to or can afford a set of new white speakers but if your goal down the road is to be a heavyweight in the wedding industry then buying all white is the way to go. Or just rock the white scrims until you can buy the white speakers.
You’re joking! You can’t spray the grill with the fabric on it. You just ruined the acoustics of your EV’s….LOL I can’t believe you didn’t disassemble the whole speaker, removing the drivers, amp and handles. You didn’t sand your cabinets down so it will stick to the abs plastic…. Nice vid though
Okay. But I’m an expert with painting. As long as you prep, sand, and hand paint them, I m not concerned with streaks. I once plastic dipped an old 73 inch tv and it came out perfect.
