Like a number of other subscribers have stated about learning the process not the project this is where I've been the last few months. Much of what I've learned has been based on a specific project but I've been stepping back and working on basics, hammer control, etc with a lighter hammer and it truly does make all the difference. I've always enjoyed your videos and am amazed at how freely you offer your time and energy giving to the community out here. Thanks again.

I love that. Once you know the process you can make any project you see. If you just learn each project as you do them, you're limited to that project

Also just a few months into knife making. Up until now, I have mostly banged out billets and cut to shape the blade section. A little forging the shape of the handle, but mostly cutting to shape. I am going to make a first attempt forging a small kukri. I will be making it from rebar as I'm sure it won't be a great piece for my first try. This video will help me a lot! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Hey, I was trying to flatten/thin out a piece of 3/8" round rebar, and I got it flattened out but the flattened area developed an unwanted banana-like curve to the left while I was hammering. Is this normal? I don't understand why it would curve to the left when all I'm doing is flattening it out.

Rebar is recycled material, one patch might have other elements besides iron and carbon, such as chromium or aluminum, that either repel or absorb the heat differently in one area.
