To your point at 14:40 - slabbed coins. I wonder if they would distrust pristine coins and trust worn coins because worn coins have the visible marks of trust having already been traded by many people over and over whereas the pristine coins don’t.
A lot of younger people don't think a collapse can happen. Anyone at least 30yrs of age or older almost experienced a complete collapse. I seen many people loose jobs, houses, cars, savings and 401k's during the last recession, so we know it can happen. During the last recession I also witnessed precious metals go through the roof while everything else was failing. I tell people, if you want know what a collapse will be like just research Venezuela and triple it. I say triple it because if US goes down that means every other country is down as well, at least Venezuela has a functioning world. I research how Venezuelans are surviving and see what they do and need from day to day. Great video Yankee! I think you and I are on the same page as far as prepping and stacking! I hear ya. I'm a contractor and had some big projects that were , at the time for them , a sure thing. Then the bubble bursts and their 401k s went down the toilet. I've only heard back from one. They were young enough to still be working. They lost 40%. My money was in stock. They go moo. If it ain't real , it ain't real. Most kids will be in bad shape if SHTF. Most are helpless. I explained to a young man that worked for me our society is an illusion we all "choose" to believe in. Make your money when you can but never ever believe this is the real world. Natures a bitch. I think your reputation will depend on if people trust your silver. I’m pretty well connected in my area and I have no doubt most people will trust me on my word. But, you’ve given me a new outlook on silver trading and I really appreciate it.
Countries are purchasing & repatriating gold. Central banks are purchasing metals. CEOs are selling shares and leaving companies. Market keeps going up on little volume. FED is injecting billions into the RePo market. Silver spot was recently smashed down with contracts. Something is definitely coming and Time is running out. I’ve seen all this coming for years but I wasn’t in a position to really start prepping until like 4/5 years ago. I know realistically we maybe have 2-5 years left til we hit bottom and all out shit breaks out maybe less. I’ve heard by 2030 we will be fully integrated into this new system with lots of new technologies we can’t even imagine. It’s amazing honestly how fast things can tank and then improve because it’s happened in the past my grandparents lived through the Great Depression.
Great Videos! So I am now a Major Eagle Buyer...but it's not what you think. I set up with seven cases at a show last weekend, everything in my cases is usually old. My daughter blinged up one corner of a case with about a tube each of Eagles and Libertads, I don't even know where the damn things came from but I was okay with it because I just want those things gone! So, a guy comes up asking for Eagles and buys both piles of coins and says he is 'Done.' At that time another guy approached, saw the Eagles and wanted Eagles too, I told him I did not think I had more but I went and looked through some boxes and found a tube. As I handed it to him the first guy (who's transaction is *complete* ) comes unglued saying guy #2 barged in when he wasn't done, seriously the two guys almost got into a fight! With the price drop last week buyers at the show were a bit leery, dealers couldn't *give* generics away but the wild eyed ASE guys didn't care and were out in force! I just cannot get my mind around the premium! I NEVER wanted to carry Eagles but this week I have been loading up at my wholesaler. If the Rabid Eagle Crowd wants to finance my shows by paying $3.50+ over spot then I guess I will let them. My friend says I have gone over to *The Dark Side...and I Agree.*
If they have exchanges like you said and use hallmarks then metal-is-metal. Bars and rounds will work too. It can be weighed, acid tested, or some other excepted manner will surface.

Hey bud. For sure we would need a lot of smaller pieces for barter. It would be a shame to pay for a loaf of bread with a 10 oz bar if that is all you have. I am lucky living in a small town as I often pay for goods and services with silver already. It is great fun and the store owners are willing to participate. You have to like that eh. I think diversity or variety is your friend, when it comes to stacking. I don't disagree with virtually anything you've said, apart from choosing, intentionally, to lack variety or diversity within your stack. I think diversity increases your optionality, and I think having more vs. less options is going to be the name of the game when it comes to the future. As a result, half of my stack is 90% Constitutional, and the other half is bullion. The bullion is separated into 3 groups. 1/3 is government minted bullion coins, 85% of which are Silver Eagles. Another 1/3 is generic bullion rounds. The last 1/3 is generic bullion bars. It might be harder to get rid of generic bullion stuff in some circumstances, but in others, having such items might prevent you from having to drain yourself of the more trusted Silver that you have. A lot of the places that I've observed buying metals, including the one time I recently, and for the first time, sold a little Silver myself, had a metal density tester so that they could determine the authenticity of the Silver within just a few seconds. Ultimately, I think that will become more common when Silver & Gold move into higher usage levels. I actually think 90% Silver dimes are probably your best buy when it comes to trustable Silver. Anything else is less trustworthy in my opinion. So this is all about degrees of trust. Having said that, I'd have a little bit of everything, including jewelry. I think the various ways in which you hold Silver is going to provide you with options that you otherwise wouldn't have. For example, it may allow you to avoid future regulation or taxation. You never know how things are going to go exactly, so having more options rather than less is always a plus. In the end, I think Silver & Gold are going to be virtually the only way a person will have of participating in the gray/black markets when everyone is herded/forced into their digital pen through a globalized crypto/block-chain/distributed ledger digital currency that will serve as the on/off switch for your life under a government/Satanic/anti-Christ kind of tyranny.
I’m a big diversity guy. I just like my diversity to fit my strategy. When it comes to investments I always diversify! But when it comes to insurance I tend to want my “insurance to be just insurance”. It’s one of the reasons why I don’t “diversify” with whole life insurance and stick with term life. I think larger bars are okay, once you have plenty of small denomination 90% silver and fractional gold.. I would only buy 99.99 pure silver bars made by the R.C.Mint (medical grade) , sold by well known precious metals dealers..Thanks for sharing Yankee..
ST, they’re rated for at least 30 years without drop in nutritional value, but I think they’d go even longer-especially with a large supply of vitamin and mineral supplements!
I’ve asked this question a few times on various channels & nobody ever replies. This seems like an appropriate time to ask again. Why do we, as stackers, think that others will trade their food, medicine, supplies etc. for our precious metals in a collapse scenario? What good will a dime do them if their kids are hungry? I’m not trying to be a douche, just playing devils advocate to cover all my bases. Thanks!

I guess I didn’t explain as well as I hoped. Some people in the comments got my point but I’ll try again. In a collapse scenario all that people will be initially interested in will be basic survival supplies. Food, water, weapons, medicine, cigarettes, shelter, gasoline, heat, you name it that’s what’s going to matter most! 72 hours without food you get anarchy. Period. HOWEVER...After many months of civil unrest, overwhelmed hospitals, and a government unable to handle the crisis, many people will die, people will be scavenging for food, and barter will be the norm. After the struggle of barter becomes too much, a new economy will rise up. People will start growing their own food, storing their own water, establishing local (and secured) sub-communities, and they will need a way to purchase goods and services (dental and medical assistance, shoe repair, etc.). It will be unlike anything we have seen in our lifetimes. Barter has extreme limitations which I touched on in the video, and a new currency will be absolutely necessary. As far as I’m concerned, that will be silver and gold. Hope that helps guys! (And I hope I’m wrong)

I don't like rounds either. I do buy them when i find em cheap. I'll sell them if the price goes up or gift them to my kids. To many counterfits now too. As you said , "trust". I don't trust them. Stopped buying pandas to. Same reason. Only do business with people you trust. the coin shop i used to go to would have a dish full of 1 oz rounds. They'd often have silver eagles in it. I'd usually buy every one. Dirty birds i call them. Good solid coin. 30 % is small constitutional. Love the stuff
What About silver shot? If you just want silver for as low as possible? You know it's real, and it can be weighed out to any weight. I've never bought any, just wondering what your thoughts are.
Shot is great for pouring. And it is quite divisible. Other than that, humans tend to associate value with coins that have easily identifiable and confidence-boosting markings. Thanks for the great comment! 👌🏼
I wonder where the misnomer started that the Lady Liberty dime was called the "Mercury" dime. Mercury was a male Roman god, and the dime was designed with lady Liberty with a winged cap.
The Forth Turning involves economics. Both books do, but The Forth Turning is a much more difficult read. Pendulum is much easier to get through and I believe you will arrive at the same conclusion regardless of which book you do decide to read. At least read Pendulum. I think it will help solidify the foundation you already have under your present lifestyle.

Yup, they are counterfeited a lot. But once people learn what to look for, I think they will be more apt to be trusted than a series of no-name bars and rounds.

Especially why you stack what you stack....I was a collector through the $30-$50 silver days from 40 years ago....guess what folks...my LCS scrutinized anything over one ounce bars...MS 64s were worth the same as XF on many many coins. In A SHTF $50-$100 silver scenario...ITS GONNA BE WORSE.

I currently saved up 22 loose ASE’s I bought a cheap plastic tube for them, but if I want to purchase mint rolls, whom do I turn to? Most places are not holding rolls past 2017, and I want to at least have one mint roll from each year. Help!
Just to clarify, i dont want the mint direct with the mint names labeled on the tubes due to higher premiums... just the basic mint tubes with 20 coins in each for each year

I keep silver of all kinds. I can see something bad happening because other countries no longer want our dollars in trade. Think of getting a bra in the future.
Your commentors that say people won't wanna trade for silver are right. At first. As you outlined. At first they'll trade their firstborn for a ciggerete but won't trade an egg for an eagle. But , as you said , after a while silver , gold and copper nickels etc will be accepted. People in the know will use it right off and others will quickly get up to speed. At first you'll be able to still get some fools to accept dollar bills ,lol. Dump em as fast as you can. After a week they'll be used for tp ( by people who don't have silver to but toilet paper).
Some how silver bullion remained desirable and a valuable asset 5,000 years before America even thought about using it in coins. When the time comes, I don't think the bullion learning curve will be steep at all.
So sad to see dried food stacks, and here is why : free market is quick. Greater the calamity, quicker the market is to solve human needs. When you think how fast a bug in videogame or smartphone is fixed, now think how fast a bug in food supply chain or financial service will be fixed, so quick you can argue a range of possible fixes already exist today for future problems. Dried food is insurance for socialism, for Gov. suppressing free markets, and 300.000.000 people in US not fighting back, but endorsing socialism. Now the SAD PART : why would you live in socialism on dry food when US passport can get you in any good place on Earth. I just don't get it, 6 months supply of regular food will be more than enough and makes more sense as expenses buffer if you are out of job for few months.
