How to Stand Throw a Discus | Discus 101

My daughter is an 8th grader and it is her first year of throwing discus. Should I have her compete her first year throwing from a standing throw or have her doing the spin? I threw discus in HS myself and have an understanding of the techniques. After her track season is over we will continue to train but my plan is to continue strength training and then work on the spin. Thank you for any input you have to offer and I appreciate all the videos you have posted.
