Faze Pang I just started this type of crunches,but normal crunches started toning my stomach in 2 weeks so I’m sure that crunches with weights will be astronomically more affective,I’ll come back in a few weeks to give an actual answer

Not a very good one heavy compound lifts will work them and strict pull ups with leg lifts to the side give you abs I got a beastly 8 pack and never do ab exercises to save my back

I've been trying side planks and corkscrew leg raises but this is by far my favorite oblique exercise! Very effective and simple, thanks for the vid

I actually use a dumbbell and it works just fine for me. I feel my obliques the next day.

Loved the vid! Another great workout for Oblique's "variety is the spice of life". Oh, how I miss mine.. Need to catch up on afew of your last video's and get motivated again. 'Tis amazing what a couple years of work can do but than again, even more amazing what afew months of nothing can do to reverse all that work!

lol... to a MINIMAL degree. I love how articles make it seem so easy to gain muscle, yet the same people to go the gym everyday and never grow, but all of a sudden everyone is going to get a super huge waist line from abs and obliques. Give me a break. Ignore the magazines bro! Hit those obliques! :)

yeah i know, but it's all mental for me at least. i find stability is the best way to train my abs, as it puts on more density and less muscle mass. just my opinion, but test it out one day by doing an all plank routine with some pikes, ab wheel rollouts, and renegade rows

hey scott ive heard that you shouldnt hit the obliques unless youre under 5% body fat. the article said it will make the muscles grow and unless youre really lean then it will just make you look thinker and emphasize the love handle region. is this true?

just do side planks, them isometric movements work best for toning the obliques, the more crunching, the more promotion of bulky, mass building in the midsection, which few are aiming for

Great exercise for popping the obliques! Word of advice use light weights or prepare ur self for a brutal stretch mark!!! :'(

Hi Scott! Can I do this exercise with 10Kg Plates in "each" hand? I have been doing it for 3 weeks now and I feel that my obliques are toning up but just wanted to make sure if I am not doing any harm to my back without knowing. I strictly do it the way you have guided in this video except "the weight in each hand" part.

Using both hands means the weights counterbalance each other and GREATLY reduce the force on the obliques and mainly it is just your forearms (hand grip) doing any real work.

When I do this, after I’m done, my sides are in so much pain to move/ bend! Is there something I’m doing wrong? When beginning is it meant to be very painful?

Larry Yeah I was sore as well after doing it for the first time, but it then went away. That's normal when you try out a new workout in a muscle that you might not generally work as hard. It's a great exercise. 💪🏽

you cannot do spot reduction with fat. your body chooses where it gets rid of fat.. You should just work on building as much muscle as you can everywhere and you'll begin to see the desired results.

+Michael J Fox I'm new as well. I started developing mine by doing weighted Incline Crunches. The weight was to much, but it really helped me focus on what body parts I was moving. Just make sure to go really slow, and not feel anything in the legs.

Always have propel saying this is the worst oblique exercise but it's been the best for me. Never injuries myself and besides I naturally have a smaller waist so I'm not trying to look like a little bitch with everything else being sold except my waist ..Good if you those people who are naturally small on the waist.
