I've been bump starting and kicking the shit out of my 450 sxf for the past two hours with no luck! All I had to do was watch this video and I got it running after the second kick, thank you!
This video is so underrated. Before I was throwing myself on the kick-starter and it wasn't starting 8 out of 10 times. After watching this I don't even have to lift my other foot from the ground and it starts 3 out of 4 times. Why did nobody I asked know this trick? WrenchMaster you're the real MVP
@@CBRRR-eh3ky the compression is too strong. Me jumping (not joking, actually jumping) on my 400 KTM kickstarter can barely get past the compression. So I have to get the piston (slightly) right past the compression stroke by pulling the decompression lever. Once you do that you can push back the decompression lever, so that the decompression valve can close. Now I can start the bike with the kickstarter without lifting the other foot from the ground.
Omg this video was so helpful, I just bought a 2001 yz450f and it does the same thing where it builds too much compression and the kickstart gets stuck. I thought my decompressioner was broken lol
My kickstart never get stuck. I feel the resistance but if i push despite the resistance, the kick goes down. Do i need to adjust my valves or something? I have 2000 xr600r
Did you fit the ignition and speedometer to the bike yourself or was this factory? I’m looking to put my mx bike on the road its the first time i’ve seen an ignition like this? Great Vid 👍🏽
Watched this just in time to sell my bike. 02Wr250f. Such a pain to start, but I must have been doing it wrong all these years. I hold the decomp. lever all the way in and give a light, but full kick, I then release the lever and kick it again but harder. This works alright when the engine’s warm, but when cold, it takes forever, and usually involves flooding the carb, waiting a few minutes, and trying again. Does your technique help with cold starts? Thanks for the video!
Hello, I have a motorcycle of these but I want to eliminate that decompression system, how can I make it turn on like a normal motorcycle without having to touch that little handle
