I’m turning 60 next month. Was always thin til my last baby at 40, then never got back down. Started Carnivore 5 weeks ago. I’ve lost 15 lbs, and have 10-15 more to go. I feel great!! Sleep great! Lots of energy !!

That is amazing getting closer to your weight loss goals. I’m turning 36 this Sept. but still no kids. Not sure that’s in the cards for me, but one thing that scares me for sure is gaining all the weight back. I lost 70-75 lbs now using carnivore and keto for weight loss and fitness.

I am 37 and my 6th baby was when I was 35, I am like you, I always naturally thinned down until I had her. I just cant loose the last 15 lbs. It doesnt help my thyroid goes from hypo to hyper, and I am now diagnosed with diverticulitis. I so badly want to stick to carnivore but I always stall at a certain weight, and end up giving up. Ugh. Im going for it again and this time I am going to try working out more during a stall. I am hoping to stick with it this time, as even my skin (which is normally beautiful and acne free) is flaring up all the time.

Glad I read this! I am 40 and had my 2nd baby a year ago. So a one year old and 4 year old. About to start carnivore to loose the remaining 10 pounds. Seems like the once place I hold any weight is my stomach :(

I've started 6wks ago and I'm so tired no energy my arm & legs are so weak..really just trying to push through if.. I've lost weight & a load of inches that is keeping me motivated. But the weightless has been the only benifit so far ...

@@cearilindubhlaoi9507 You're not eating enough fat. You should eat your ideal (desired) body weight x 0.8 grams of protein (125 lbs x 0.8 = 100 grams) and an equal or greater amount of animal fat per day. Adjust the fat content up until you can eat your last meal of the day, until you are comfortably stuffed, and then can comfortably get through a 16 hour fast until your first meal of the next day (around 3pm). I find I have to eat two meals a day to accomplish that and I eat about 1.5x more fat than protein. I add ground Liver to my hamburger so that I get about 1/2 ounce per day. You might have to do a bit more to get your Iron up. If you haven't already, get your doctor to order blood work.

I'm a poor mom on a meat based keto diet, 95% of my diet is meat. I have to watch my budget. Many low cost carnivore is still about 400 a month for 1 person amd our budget is 600 so I'm definitely a junk food eater lol I do hot dogs and deli meat. However try to minimize it. Love eggs and utilize the bacon and sausage fat to Cook them in to add flavor. I just bought a brisket for 2.99lb cheaper than ground beef. I love ground beef and if I dont eat beef of some kind for a few days I start to feel hungry and not have as much energy. For me burgers everyday LOL I also use the 7.90 for 10lb bags of chicken leg quarters. I lost 70lbs in 13 months and lowered my triglycerides 300, hdl up 20, and most of all went from A1C 6.9 to A1C 5.3 in less than a year no meds. I still drink diet soda. I have 70 more to lose and am learning to make changes as I battle my food addictions. It dosnt have to be perfect, as long as it works for you. Be well

Omg me too. Eat a stick of butter, don't eat a stick of butter. Eat when you're hungry, "prime" with 3 meals a day. Eat 80/20; what exactly does that look like? Back to some simplicity and basics!!

I’ve been doing carnivore for a while now and what surprised me when cutting out fruit is that I realised I don’t even like fruit 😂 I don’t know why I was buying and eating it. Probably because everyone says fruit is ‘ healthy ‘

"Falling off the carnivore diet" should never be an accident. It should be a conscious decision. If the only food available in non-carnivore, your choice is to eat or to wait. I went to Christmas dinner with a close friend last year and the only dish I could eat was turkey...not even any ham. I chose to eat turkey. I ate turkey until I was stuffed so the other offerings weren't tempting. YOU are in control.

We have all been there. This is not an all or nothing sport. But I feel you, because I tend to feel like if I’m not doing it perfect I’m failing. You’re not failing. You have a hiccup, you acknowledge the hiccup, and you get back on the horse. It’s that simple. You shouldn’t beat yourself up. My rules are different from her rules which are different from our rules. Be married to the results rather than the diet.

I've fallen off several times. The hardest part is you have to cook everything. After a long day at work, sometimes I don't feel like cooking and just make a sandwich. But, I start carnivore back the next day.

And another thought I should have mentioned. I often cook a roast or 5 lbs of hamburger or a whole brisket, portion it up, put it in double zip baggies and freeze. It's dead simple to pull out what you need, thaw right in the baggies in room temp water and then dump on your plate and microwave to heat. I've probably got 20 ready to eat meals in my freezer right now. Prepare steaks up to the reverse-sear stage and then thaw, braise and serve. Yes, you still have to cook but you cook when you want to cook and not when you're forced to cook. Date your packages so you can keep your fifo rotation straight and vacuum sealing will keep them edible much longer.

Thank you for the beginner video. I’m on day 2. Had awful sugar craving last night but somehow managed not to give in. Of course weight loss is a big goal, but more than that auto immune problems and arthritis. I’m 65.

I started today! One day down. I have watched so many carnivore youtube videos over the last two weeks and can really relate to your channel. I cut sugar when I was in middle school and dropped 50 pounds and was told by many adults and sports coaches I was not properly eating for the nutrients I needed. They would watch me eat a sandwich so to know I was eating all food groups. Wow am I glad times have changed...and wish I had just stuck with how I was eating then the rest of my life. I could have really avoided the diet yo-yo. However, when you know better you do better and I'm so glad to have found the carnivore community. It's time to do better.

Beth here... I started carnivore in March. I went all in, except my coffee. I'm 62 years old. I've never counted anything or fast. I have to eat 😁 I've had autoimmune crap since I was 18 and THAT was my reason for starting. Yeah of course, I could also benefit from about 40 lbs of weight loss, but it wasn't my main reason. I wanted to feel healthy again. I eat all animal products...some I've had to eliminate along the journey because I found they just make me feel crappy. I just take it one day at a time. I have had some homegrown, in my garden, fruit and vegetables in season and been fine. I just think that people stress about this WOE way more than is necessary. Just start... like you start a new job or new relationship... it's all scary and new but worth it in the end.

For the first time I didn't add a teaspoon of sugar or creamer to my coffee but only added heavy whipping cream to black k coffee. It surprised me cause I enjoyed it and drank the whole thing. So I'm gonna try it all week and see what happens.

Having gone 100% carnivore, I have worked out that my body needs two meals a day rather than one, which I did for 5 weeks, so now I eat lunch and dinner because being female and in my 60’s I just cannot eat much in one sitting. I have been keto carnivore 6 years and do not want to go back to keto because my body does not do well on many thing but carnivore. My optimal health is now set. Thank you, Laura, for talking to us regularly. Btw, just bought myself a fully stainless steel oven and air fryer and made the best crispy pork belly this week! Hello from Australia!

@@frugalmomofmany It is the Sunbeam 12-in-1 Multifunction Fryer Oven from RetraVision in South Australia. It is fantastic: not only air fry, but a grill, and is aconvection oven. I can do anything in it! $298. And takes up hardly any space.

The "loose stools" is a result of the amount of fat that is being consumed. Your body will only take in the fat that it needs and then the rest is processed out. If you find that you are having a problem with diarrhea, trim the fat and figure out just how much you can eat before you have diarrhea. If you find that you are having a constipation issue, eat more fat and flush the problem in a few hours. Dr. Anthony Chaffee and Dr Shawn Baker both explain this from a medical point of view.

Don’t laugh- but for budget Dr. Berry says you can also eat spam and or hotdogs. If I have a leaner steak, sometimes I’ll have a couple slices of spam or I’ll have a couple hotdogs or even a couple slices of sausage. Steak is ribeye, and I always buy my steaks in the bargain bin and if they need to be sold that day, then I just either eat it that night or put them in the freezer.

Yeah, I had to fast for 24/48 hours and it brought my blood sugars down to normal levels. Had type 2 diabetes for years and no metformin now either. Xxxx 🥰

@@deniselove1585 I didn’t officially, but came off them the way I was directed to start them. I took 4 x metformin a day. I also wore a glucose monitor to make sure I didn’t go too high or too low. You don’t have too, you can just regularly test your blood sugars regularly, before and lots of times after food. I stopped 1 x metformin a week as my blood sugars started to slowly some done. I actually had a bit of low blood sugars, which is fine but you need to reduce your medication more if this happens honey. I did come off mine very quickly as my blood sugars came down very quickly. That was the reason really for doing a bit of a water fast, just to bring them down and off the metformin. You should let your doctor or diabetic nurse know. I didn’t and I’m alive, BUT wearing a continuous glucose monitor meant I was always aware of my blood sugars. You can feel rather shitty when they do start to lower. I’d do it when you can be home and rest if you feel you need too. I should say do it slowly and you might be able to slowly drop your diabetes medication every 5 days. Again I’m not a medical person, but it worked for me and everyone’s body is different and glucose levels respond differently. I didn’t tell my diabetes nurse as they think you should be on medication for the rest of your life, NOPE!!!!!! Also the steak and butter gal team recommend that you eat a banana one a day to reduce the glucose slower for the first week. Then half a banana the second week and then in no 🍌 banana. You might feel a little poop 💩 like but not bad. Go slow and if it takes you longer then it does. Hope that helps you a bit honey xxx Also I ate two slices of very low carb bread and make a sandwich once a day. 1 x carb a slice. Lots of butter and whatever you like in it honey xxxx

I didn't choose to be strict at first so much as it chose me. I immediately started getting terribly ill for 24+ hrs any time I took a bite of non carnivore food or too much dairy. I changed my way of eating to halt increasing food sensitivities and autoimmunity, so this didn't come as a total surprise, but it would be wise to be adaptable in your individual approach if things progress in a quick or unexpected direction.

I’m in Brooklyn, NY, went carnivore in May. Initially, I lost 70-75 lbs with Whole Foods and the anti inflammatory diet combined with intermittent fasting. I felt my best when I did carnivore but I know long term abstinence/restriction for me is a fail. So instead I’m using different variations of animal based nutrition cycling through subsets of carnivore, keto, etc. I just posted a video about how I’m structuring my diet for the long haul. I did keto as an experiment and to lose a few lbs. I don't have health issues or addictions so being extra strict isn't necessary for me. When I schedule a cheat day, I just get back on board and do an IF. Exercise and a healthy attitude helps also. We all need to find what works as individual ppl. I like this woman. She's logical and really has a good message. Fanaticism can create another set of issues...

I am working my way down on carbs, starting with 50 or below for day, in January going to 20 carbs and below and then will aim for carnivore. I've never been a big meat eater, so I am having to ease into it. Love your channel and meal examples.

I just can't stop thinking about your peanut butter comment. that is one of my main problems. Can't give up peanut butter and sweeteners. But I used to say I can't give up sugar, pasta and wine, and I have been free of those for a while. I lost 115lbs with keto ish, carnivorish. But my arthritis is worst than ever. I think I am gearing myself up to do 90 day carnivore to see if it helps.

90 days carnivore is great but maybe just start with no peanut butter if that's your biggest crutch! Cutting the PB will absolutely help your arthritis! One day at a time.

Eat salted grass fed butter instead. Kirkland from Costco is the best. I used to really like peanut butter. Now it tastes like dirt to me.

The last four months I have gradually eased into a conavore diet. Have gone from a size 18 to a 10-12 shedding forty two pounds. Also trying OMAD diet that works great.

I have to keep my unpasteurized fresh milk. I ferment this with kefir grains that come from the cow. I make yogurt, sour cream, feta and other cheese like goat cheese. Plus my own kefir yogurt better than Greek yogurt. Plus kefir buttermilk to tenderize meat. I hope for success. I just got started. This is my 5th day.

I have been doing carnivore for 7 days, and not perfectly. I have to admit that. But I lost 6 lbs. I did eat something today that I regret, I don't know why I did. I wanted it and just did it. Now I am like WHY??? I am new at this. I have to say I am very satisfied after eating my meat, but today was just a fluke and I allowed myself to do it. By the way, my stomach is punishing me now 🤢😵‍💫 so not worth it!!! Here is to tomorrow a new day. ❤

Thank you ❤ for your help and sharing your experience & knowledge… Yes - I am all or nothing - was disciplined for years not craving sugar, low carbs, working out etc … hit 56 w major stress events & started on sugar, carbs, emotional eating etc . Bread & sugar have to be nonnegotiable for me - comfort zone for emotions. I’m the only one in my immediate family who doesn’t have diabetes - thyroid issues, hormones So I feel OMAD would be best for me at first for auto immune. My greatest issue is not eating enough protein. I’m starting carnivore tomorrow ❤ looking forward to a healthiest rest of my life !

I can have a meat meal, but only one meal a day. The rest would have to be fish and vegetables and one good fruit plate at some point between two days. Electrolytes and supplements are a must.

Going all out can be hard on your body and gut microbes as your changing from glucose burning to fat burning … for me it’s easier transition from keto to carnivore

I agree. I had keto flu and I was not strict at all. Lost 10 pounds in 3 weeks and had trouble sleeping. Can't imagine jumping straight in to carnivore. I'm too active n don't need to lose much weight. It seems it's mostly for serious illness, big weight loss n sugar addiction. I have seen amazing results for many ppl. I just don't know if I could be that strict.

I thought it was interesting that when I had Covid, while doing carnivore...I wanted fruit soooo bad! Meat seemed not yum at the time, but I needed mango smoothies for awhile even after I was done!

I drink diet coke on my carnivore diet... this satiates any sweet tooth I might have. Also I ALWAYS have Costco pre cooked bacon in my fridge so if I start to get snacky/antsy I pop in a few of those in the microwave for 30seconds and I'm way satisfied instantly.

Trioxin, I loved Diet Coke for 36 years until I realised it has in that give you cancer so I went cold turkey 2019. Maybe look into it.

Diet sodas are death in a bottle. Especially if sweetened with aspartame. It is a neurotoxin that excites your brain cells to death. Also, aspartame and most other chemical based artificial sweeteners actually activate your brains craving receptors, which will make you more likely to want to eat " unhealthy" food. Soft drinks also damage your bones by leaching out minerals, so please try and find some other way to combat your sweet tooth.

I found LMNT chocolate does not mix well added to cold water. However, if I add cold water to it instead I can get it to mix. The sequence matters 😋

I started carnivore 12 days ago no carbs no sugar, no more cravings. Yeah that's amazing however no weight loss. I'm upset about this after hearing everyone says big weight loss after 1 week. Please help me I'm 40 lbs overweight

I started Keto in 2020. And the scale didn't move for at least 2 or 3 weeks. But all of a sudden it did! I almost wanted to give up. Give yourself time. You will succeed!

I must be "cheating" too much. Not really losing weight. Having a hard time adjusting to the restrictions and lack of variety but only been 10 days. Using Worcester, hot sauce, balsamic vinegar and mustard and seasonings. Also dill pickles with burger patties. I forgot the morning coffee, stevia and half and half.

That's a lot. Those sauces often contain suspicious ingredients. I love balsamic but it is much higher in sugar. I use more apple cider and lemon

@@dianetrue2396 it sounds like a lot but it's still very little or zero carbs that I use. I tried ACV but it upset my stomach. I do use lemon also. I just used up the last of my coffee yesterday so now I'm doing tea, no half and half, and I'll see how that goes. It's just tough for me to do meat only and salt. Need some flavor so I don't just ditch carnivore completely.

@@lauravictorious4670 I understand completely. I still use garlic, onions, mushrooms, celery, salad, herbs n spices and some extracts. we grow some herbs out on the patio. I still eat sweet potatoes, vegetables n some berries, full fat Greek yogurt n cheeses as treats. The thought of serious restrictions isn't for me but again I am fairly lean, active n healthy and want to keep it that way. My husband thinks I'm hard core drinking my 1st cup of coffee blk to delay my fast, so I can have a cup of Bullitt coffee later 😂 I love the cream and can forego the sugar but I compromise n negotiate wherever and whatever I can. God bless us all in our healthful endeavors. Still desire to have my " cake" and eat it too.

@@dianetrue2396 I've used onions too. I'm glad to hear someone else say they aren't hardcore carnivore because it's hard. I don't eat pork, so no bacon. That would add a lot of flavor, no doubt. I have used cheese on burgers (no bun) but try to stay away from dairy. Recently I got together with a friend I don't often see. We had salad, artichoke dip and pizza. I enjoyed it, didn't feel guilty, didn't feel physically bad afterwards, just full.

Thanks for this, Laura. I've been doing carnivore for about five weeks now. Blood sugar is doing great. I haven't lost any weight though. Like, at all. It's baffling. I keep telling myself I didn't start this to lose weight, but dang it. I'd like to lose about forty pounds. I'm wondering if I need to cut out coffee. That's the only thing I can think of that might be preventing weight loss. *sigh* Thanks to anyone who read this pity party. 😆

Often we automatically restrict protein because we are coming from a restricted diet mindset. I encourage you to pig out on excess fatty meat first. It will fill you up. Then Include small portions of the totally unnecessary but sometimes tasty add ins. An ounce of cheese, pickles, nuts, berries. It could be you need 3/4 to a pound of meat a day. Also 3 to 4 eggs a day lots of butter, bacon eggs and meat. Tip2 Don’t weigh for one month or more…counterintuitive but it works. I lost 40 stuffing myself with fatty food, yummy. Best wishes BUT YOUR GOAL MUST BE OPTIMAL HEALTH. Eat healthy foods and the weight will naturally stabilize. I also recommend binge watching all that Dr Ken Berry says about what is a Proper Human Diet. He is phenomenal. If your goal is ONLY weight loss, you will stay a yo-yo dieter. Go for the gold, good health. I’ll add you to my prayer list, ask God to help you, too.

@@barblacy619 Hi, Barb! Thank you for the prayers--I appreciate that a lot. And yes. I eat once a day--mostly laziness or just being busy. Or like Laura says because I'm not hungry when I wake up, and then by the time I do get hungry, I won't eat because it's almost dinner time. But I do occasionally eat a second meal. And for the one meal, I generally have a pound to a pound and a half of meat--steak or pork chops or sometimes chicken. I could probably add more butter to get my fat intake up. I totally agree about health being the most important thing, so I'm not stressing about the weight. Just wish I would lose a little bit. 🙂 Good tips--thank you!

I listened to how to tweak the carnivore diet if you aren't losing weight. Kelly Hogan and I think Dr. Berry and others talk about that. Then it finally worked for me, albeit slowly. I cut back on the amount of fat I was consuming and I didn't eat after 6:00 p.m. at night. I also went to only 2 meals a day. I also eat a large variety of different kinds of meat and seafood. Then I began losing about 2 - 3 lbs. a week. Some people lose more slowly than others but the main thing is the body is healing itself and balancing the correct hormones. Hope this helps.

@@terrigodfrey8260 Sooo... I think I'm not eating enough. :blink: I plugged in my dinner for the past couple of days, and it's clocking around 1300 calories. So my body is probably thinking we're about to starve. I guess maybe I can add some butter. Or try that bacon-grease mayo recipe of Dr. Berry's, or the butter mayo recipe from Nashville Chris. Because I ate a little over a pound of rump roast tonight, and I literally cannot eat anything else without upchucking. 😆

I'm starting the C diet. I'm eating my way through the stuff in my freezer, the microwave entrees, veggies, and such other stuff. Ditto for stuff in the fridge. The only stuff going back in the freezer/fridge is C stuff. Of course my wife, who is a vegetarian, puts HER stuff in the same fridge and I avoid it. She's also an insulin injection dependent type 1 diabetic. How ironic is that? My personal goal is to lose 100 lb and keep it off.

So I’ve been trying to keep my diet mostly carnivore, but I’m not going to cut out my coffee, my limón, vinegar and occasionally a vege or two or avocado 😆 But yes I am trying to do 85/90% Carnivore diet to lose 80/90ibs. I have hypothyroidism, almost pre diabetes type 2, I retain water like crazy and had a hysterectomy 3/4 yrs back but my ovaries are still intact. Been guilty of binge eating , but for the last 3 weeks I started transitioning to carnivore or at least my version of it. Where I find it difficult is eating the right amount of protein/fats. I don’t want to lose my hair. I don’t feel like im under eating as I am eating twice a day. I use himalayan salt, redmond salt, kosher salt and I just ordered Celtics sea salt to switch up for different times of the day to make sure I am good and getting enough nutrients and minerals in. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated if you have any advice. I am trying to do this as easy as possible because as anyone who is real honest about this knows, this isn’t as easy as just sticking to meat

I love carnivore but I'm really getting discouraged with no weight loss. I've lost some inches but not a lot. And I get with people and they get me sidetracked. I know it's my fault for messing up. But I'm not strong enough yet! I beat myself up when I eat bad!

Hello AW...rather than answering your question directly (but the answer is no and no 😀), I suggest that you do a RU-vid search for 'carnivore cholesterol' and 'carnivore gout'. Look for doctors like Ken Berry or Shawn Baker or Cywes or Chaffee.

Bay Area, California I refuse to count grams of protein. Or whatever other counting. Did calorie counting all my life when dieting. Just went away with friend for weekend. Did pretty good. Ate burger meat alone. At party had all meat on plate. It’s amazing how ppl eat blindly, chips, macaroni etc. it kind of grossed me out. I don’t feel superior I’m just like thinking now is eating to live and not living to eat. I have cheated in the last month and not losing fat that quickly. Size 6 forever but do not like my gut when sitting and fat on back side hip area. I do have more energy and feel better.

This video helped me so much! I am on day 3 of carnivore and it feels so restrictive..I have had similar weight story as you Laura, so restrictive is better than moderation for me but I feel its so restrictive..still pushing through..another problem I am having is I dont like meat this much..I have never liked a lot of meat..so I am not enjoying at all all this meat no matter what kind..it makes me sick and yesterday I just couldn't eat all my dinner because meat in moderation or in other things has always been my preference so I am really struggling with that too..any suggestions?????

BC, 10 days in and 4 days ago started diarrhea. Last night severe, couldn't control not stopping it in bed, dark, chunky, then at 6 fluid but again, just came out. Fluid has happened 2x since. Last night I had steak bites done in the air fryer. It's now pinkish. Any advise?
