Freight brokers in a nut shell are pimps for shippers who provides trucks for hire. They deal with the truckers so the shippers don't have to. They bid the freight and then advertise for trucks. Much like a pimp he and he alone knows what the job pays. The broker knows on Monday when the freight needs to move so he has all week to convince his whores to haul for less so his profit is higher. The broker needs a bond and a computer link. In history a pimp needs a car and a hustle. Broker = Pimp. Only its completely legal. Just my opinion.

A Freight broker is absolutely nothing like a pimp being that a pimp doesn't work for anyone, and also, if a broker was like a Pimp, that would mean the trucker would be working for free. The Broker gets the smallest percentage of any load that he/she brokers. Most truckers are complete idiots though.
