I am looking to buy pool routes but since i have a full time job i wont be able to run it as an owner operator. do you recommend running this business by hiring techs/employees?
There are a few folks that do this. They key is to find folks that line up with you companies values and expectations as they are an extension of you and your business. Plan on meeting with them once or twice a week though to go over the plan for the week and to recap what happened.
This can vary greatly on the area you serve, how many accounts you have on a monthly basis, and if you do other types of pool work. The best thing to do is sit down and put some numbers together for your area. For example, if you think you can get to 40 regular monthly accounts at $80 then you know you will be looking at $3,200 a month or $38,400 a year before your costs and expenses. Some areas can charge more due to the neighborhoods or weather. Just run some crude numbers to get an idea for your area.

I’m sure depends what state you are in but here in Texas the monthly rate can easily be 150 to 250 a month You get 50 accounts here for 200 months each and you are looking at 10,000 a month before any expenses That’s here in Texas though

I am actually. I am a very active realtor, but I am interested in starting a pool cleaning business. I have a ton of realtor contacts and clients that I could market to. Great info!
