Really interesting to hear the background and amazing how fast you've grown over such a short time, clearly testament to the quality of the work your company do!
Do you think he shouldn't charge for the full of his knowledge? £995 investment to get a business right and grow it is not that much if I'm honest with you. I have done 121 business coaching, was costing me £750/month for a year and would do it all over again as it transformed the way I run my company and managed to dramatically increase my profitability. Btw, I have no association with what Jordan does and not planning to ever sign up to his training, as I've though those things already
@@EruElectrics - There has been an influx of RU-vidrs creating online business courses recently, which makes me extremely skeptical. Also typically these types of courses don't deliver and only serve to make the author money. If he will stand behind the course that he is delivering, a longer money-back guarantee and cheaper entry cost might provide for more credibility. Also by having it this expensive it will keep it out of reach for those who could use his knowledge the most. Either way, it isn't for me.
@@EruElectrics - I'd also like to point out, you might not be affiliated with him, but you are doing the exact same thing with your own RU-vid channel. affiliate links, ebooks, the usual drivel. "The Amazing Selling Machine!"
@@hycron1234 surely it looks like that more and more business coaches popping out targeting trades with a lot of them never been on a trade to know first hand how it is. I think something that MAY make Jordan to struggle to grow the course is that he's hasn't built enough momentum as an expert on this type of business yet. But you never know. On your 2nd comment, what I do is very different for what people like Jordan do. Affiliate marketing costs nothing to the buyer, I only point towards a tool I use and am happy with it or a service I use and helped me running my business, and when someone buys I make a small commission. Not really interesting on starting just another course if I'm honest with you. Only looking to share my experience, and create some passive income on the way. The channel has to fund itself somehow 😎
I have found similar problems getting electricians who fulfil their promises, are well presented in all respects or even simply turn up on time! I now work in IT having previously worked in the entertainment industry and have had occasional requirements to get electrical contractors, many of the people I work with / for wouldn’t take kindly to contractors, at my recommendation, looking scruffy, doing a bad job with poor quality components and generally having bad presentation (especially language).
Hi Jordan, interesting story and well done to you. This country needs thousands of Jordan's or we are in trouble, regardless of business type, it's having the foresight. Happy Christmas and New Year to you, looking forward to more videos next year. Cheers, Alex.
That’s a really nice story, I can see the passion and and the drive in your person, a good choice in Cory I believe, onward and upward, you deserve to do well

love your content and that story but a grand for advice that you've been posting for free for years? disappointed tbh. can I have it on a voluntary basis please 🤣
I'm currently re-training to become an electrician. My goal is to set my own business up in time. I'm looking forward to the future. Its good to hear how you did it. All the best👍
Hi Jordan, great insight! I’m 3 months into my own self employed journey and I already wish I’d done it years ago! I’ll be signing onto your course as I need a few pointers. Cheers for the rhino discount codes aswell!!
Just out of curiosity what is the nature of your volunteer work as it seems to play a great part in your daily life and it must be hard to do it and run a business.
Fair play to you bud! Sounds like you put you're all into everything you do which should be admired! I've just started my own electrical business so a little nervous but taking that leap as I'm sure it will take off in time!
@@jeffklaassen yes still going mate although I'm predominantly doing more sub contractor work as it's a much more chilled environment and little to no paperwork involved. I've slowed down my own work now as for me, I wasn't getting any quality of life was just work work work which isn't for me.
Not sure how I did come across this channel, probably by looking some info on “how to” as fo like diy, but electricity was always scary bit for me. Now I’m glued to this and actually thinking about taking on electrician course of some sort
Love this Jordan. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with you. It always puts my mind at rest knowing that you’ve carried out works as I know it’ll be done properly
Jordon is a good egg with a great positve and ethical approach to running a quality, value for money business. Well done Jordon ! Wishing you a good and safe Christmas and best of luck in the new year to you and your team.
That’s a very good question! It was for a charity organisation nobody was getting paid - this is the kind of projects I worked on: www.jw.org/finder?srcid=share&wtlocale=E&lank=pub-jwb_202003_11_VIDEO
Not sure if you’ll see this comment now, but I actually met Corey on the Chelmsford project! I only attended the day as I was deep into my apprenticeship so I couldn’t give more of my time. But as a qualified spark now, it’s so nice to see such a high standard of work by the both of you. Be great to see you both one day!
Looks like a good course. Does it include an explanation of all the paperwork necessary/required to start/run your electrical business? I.e. invoices, test forms etc. Love your videos! Brad
Hello Jordan a very honest and frank vid. Its nice to see guys like you who have an eye on the bigger picture all the time. And have attention to detail with not only the work that you do, but to the business as well. As you quite rightly point out its not just about price its the service you provide. Thank you and have a great festive period with your family.
Well done mate, hats off to you for sharing your background. People always look at others who are doing well and think it’s alright for them, but never think of the back story of what you and your better half had to do to get there, well done mate 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
First of all, Guys you do amazing job and w I enjoy watching every video on your channel! Second- I really appreciate that someone is doing such a great and informative videos. And thirdly- You are legends 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Good little story, I've been doing 'small jobs' Electrician for 9 years now so now is the time to update to the 18th edition and move up to Inspection and Testing and to do bigger jobs. It's exciting and daunting at the same time, what with all the costs like registration and advertising(but there are loads of ways to do it free), but it's stories like yours help realise that it can be done, so thanks.
Has anyone got any good ideas how I can drum up work as I'm starting out in a new area of the country so literally starting from scratch also need some work before I can spend on major advertising and things life that. I'm in on the Fylde coast area if anyone can help or has any work they need a hand with.
Not being negative in any way but how are you making 125k off of 300k turnover? And paying 7 staff? That’s less than 25k per electrician and that’s accounting for you not spending a penny on equipment, vans, clothings, parts and everything you need to run a business?
Can someone tell me why all electrical, plumbing and carpentry businesses are private? I realize there are some corporations like Walmart and Home Depot that contract out such services, but I'm talking about corporations that soley specialize in one or more of these services. It would be great if there were. Prices would be lower and the quality of the service better because a corporations reputation is the most important thing.
Well done, I'm a spark approaching retirement age always worked on heavy industry, offshore, nuclear etched. Domestic stuff gives me the heebie jeebies but having seen you I might give it a go, keep me from vegetating. About the volunteer work, I used to work with down and outs years ago as a volunteer. Why not consider the Catholic faith... a bit more grounded, if you'll pardon the pun....!!!
can you explain why you spent months and years doing volunteer? even though it's been costing you alot of money instead of making money doing paid work? especially when you started your own business, 6 weeks later you went to portugal to do volunteer work? i don't understand why
Very inspiring. I'm trying to start up my own electrician business, I have completed my domestic installer course and I'm looking for a place to gain experience.
This is exactly what I am trying to do, start up an electrical business. Pride in my work and quality. I was made redundant in September, but before then, furloughed since late March. Having time to think about my future and not wanting to work for people who don't care about their employees, it was time to stand up and start to focus on my strengths. So in July I decided to start to build my business, it hasn't been easy by any means. But the work goes on, training is just round the corner, van and tools in the bag. Covid19 pandemic has been an absolute disaster for a lot of people, for me, its been a turning point, and i feel positive about the future. Your work, and how you approach the tasks has been an inspiration for me. All the best for the future.
That's AMAZING your story. I love to learn about your work job and video. I really enjoy watching your video. Maybe someday I would love to visit and see you there. But I live near San Francisco California. Awesome Thumb up! Cheer!
Good for you with all the volunteer work. Not too much of a problem with electricians around here - now, decorators, there's room for an Artisan Decorator without a doubt.
Your business ethic is admirable Jordan. As a customer, the process of finding good tradespeople is a minefield and thankfully there are guys like you local to us who provide quality and work to a high standard. It is a pity that there aren't trustworthy registers of reliable trusted tradesmen. It would be a positive step forward
hey. boutta be a second year apprentice but have been overshadowed by the thought of eventually owning my own company one day. it just seems so overwhelming, however i know that i’ll eventually have the skills and knowledge needed. but it’s still like a looming storm cloud if that makes sense
i know i don’t necessarily need to own my own business. however i feel like that is my end goal however i’m just not sure about how to get to that goal
RU-vid is full of ''celebrity'' sparks who are clueless how to run a business influencing other clueless sparks to run over a cliff. Your story is proof that you can build and run a successful business if you do it right. btw, I was talking with one my subs the other day and he said that I should invite you to one of my podcasts
Hi Jordan, another great video. I have a question - where do you get all your branded T-shirts? I'm looking for recommendations for some decent quality branded workwear. Thanks.
Amazing advice, and what a great story. And dare I say it an ambassador to the trade. Such a humble guy, all the best on your future. 🙏 True genuine people will always succeed, fair play.
I'd quite like to do some volunteer work on some projects myself - I think it would be immensely satisfying. Any tips on how to find some that are local? How did you get started in doing it?
It’s really nice to hear about your volunteer work, but for those of us who weren’t born into a business to begin with, and don’t have the means to spend years volunteering, it’s hard to relate.
Hey Jordan have you considered doing a separate RU-vid channel called Artisan Volunteering! Discussing and showing us more about your volunteer work and what it is that you do? As I would instantly subscribe :D
Thanks I’m glad your interested in that side of things but I try to keep my private life and professional life separate and so I don’t think I would want to do a channel about my volunteer work. Nice thought though. I did share a video link in one of the other comments about the volunteer project that myself and Cory worked on in Chelmsford if you’re interested in seeing that project.
Very impressive CV. As are the risks you took ... selling a business to pursue your voluntary work. I salute the optimism and work ethic of youth. I am retired (from an exciting career in educational computing) now having an easy life, but doing big DIY projects. I miss the innovation I was involved with in schools, but there seems to be so much happening in electrical world, innovation, change, development and controversy. I often wonder if the educational system, in the 60s had provided advice related to interests, skills and aptitudes then I might have taken a different career, perhaps building, construction, electrical, etc. Rather than academic. At 70 years of age perhaps I shouldn’t be thinking of an exciting new career! From the videos I have been watching there seems such a huge gap in the number of competent electricians that are required. I deliberately left out the word qualified. Competent and qualified don’t see to br synonymous. I wish you well and expect that, as you grow Artisan Electrics, you can maintain the same high standards, that’s really a challenge. Otherwise you become “another electrical contractor”, and descend into mediocrity. I don’t think you will. Aim high, as you always seem to do.
As fellow Witness myself and a Electrician i have learned a lot from your videos TY .. We here in Virginia send our love back to you brothers and sisters , not much longer now.
i am currently looking at doing an electricians course (no electrical experience) because of watching your videos. your attention to detail, Your manors and your work eithic are awe inspiring. I love the finnese you have with all your jobs that you do and nothing but 100% perfection is accepted. if i can become half the electrician you have become then i will be a very happy man with a very happy customer base. Keep up the great work and dont let nothing hold you back in achieving what you want to achieve
Hi Jordan I really enjoy watching your videos I’m an electrician myself I set up my business only a few years ago coming out from a completely different arena. Thank you for sharing with us your story I really would like to grab a cup of coffee and exchange the experience and what made me the person I am today and what values I respect the most in my day-to-day electrical business, they are very similar to yours but somehow I do not feel brave enough to put the content on RU-vid. I wish you and your family Merry Christmas! Greg
Enjoyed watching your story, particularly humbled also about your volunteering. Although not an electrician, enjoy watching your content, especially on EV charging. Always impressed with your high standards of work, it's how I would work. If I get an electric vehicle, would definitely want Artisan to fit a Zappi charging point. In meantime, look forward to more videos and wishing you loads of success.
Thanks Jordan, I’ve watched and enjoyed your RU-vid vids over the years whilst on tea breaks at work. After 20 years same employer recently made redundant ( Covid Casualty!), just starting off on my own NIC registered but apprehensive ! Your vids are a great moral help and support, not all new starters in this trade are young beautiful with a tattoo, So thanks from one of the oldies and over 50’S 👍
That’s awesome thanks for sharing your story! If you need some business guidance for starting up I have made an electricians business course with many hours of content to help people like yourself start their own electrical business, you can watch the first 4 lessons free here course.electriciansbusinesscourse.co.uk/courses/electricians-business-course
Well done Jordan. I had no idea about the voluntary work you & your good lady have been & continue to be involved with. Says an awful lot about you both. It is sad that the electrical industry still contains a large amount of unscrupulous people that call themselves 'electricians'. My apprenticeship took 5 years back in the 80's & it frustrates the hell out of me that folk can now do a 2 week Part P course & then flout & sell themselves as bona fide 'electricians'...utter tosh!! Keep up the excellent work pal.
@@artisanelectrics You had 4 days to reply. Using that poor excuse of a reply to me and probably many others could label you as unreliable. It appears you are using this platform as advertising to which you do not have the resources to enable you to follow up. Shame really.
Wel done indeed, It is never easy starting I started 3 years ago, 1st year was 45k turnover, 2nd year was £210k and now in our 3rd year we have secured orders for 2.5m over 3 years, work hard and you will get the great rewards, I hope anyway.
Probably a really good industry to get into given that we will be encouraged to drive electric cars and people will need charging points etc. Also solar panels and adapting our houses for more gadgets and home automation. Where do I sign up?
Love your work, hope you keep it up! Wanted to know how you go about doing your customer's invoices? Do you know any app that I could possibly use ? Cheers
