@@JSternDesigns they taught me to feed in the curve at an angle and I certainly didn’t ever think I could put the fabric under the needle this way! I always ended funny as well. I learnt so much from this. Thank you . ☺️

This is great...have never been shown how to do this properly. Would you recommend this for serging on neckbands? The three thread would be less bulky.
@JSternDesigns
@JSternDesigns 3 года назад
Hi Jane, You can definitely use this technique using regular thread to serge the neckband on... I like a 3-Thread Narrow. to finish a neckline. :)
@vicki3220
@vicki3220 2 года назад
@@JSternDesigns I suppose that is because 3-Thread Narrow will create less bulky seam at the neckband. Right?

Do you have suggestions on a “start an stop in the round” version but in a faster production method? I surge dozens of squares daily and can’t come up with a solution. Having a second step of threading back through is too time consuming when I’m dealing with so many pieces repetitively. Trying to cut down on time and steps in other words.
@JSternDesigns
@JSternDesigns Год назад
When I finish square, I serge off the edges... You can "Production Sew" by serging down one edge, continuing onto the edge of the next square ... and continue until you've finished one edge on all your square... Then start the next edge, finishing them all... etc. Hope that helps!
@katm8918
@katm8918 Год назад
My squares are rounded so I don’t come off the ends, in one complete go around though.

I have an older machine and the blade does not lower. Do you have a suggestion for that situation?
@JSternDesigns
@JSternDesigns 4 месяца назад
Yes, if you can't lower the blade... slow it down and gently guide the finished edge away from the blade slightly as you overlap the start point. :) If you clip the looper threads, hit them with a little Fray Check to keep them from coming apart! Thanks for watching
@tinaalpine5957

Is it the lower knife you lower?
@JSternDesigns
@JSternDesigns 3 года назад
After I cut off the tail at the start point, I put the knife down to overlap the start point without cutting the stitching. Hope that helps!
