I have been a dividend focused investor for a long time. This does not mean I don't own growth stocks, I do. A well rounded portfolio should be a mixture of both categories. One way to minimize the anxiety out of stock market investing, is to make sure you keep a large cash cushion. I invest in the market, but never put all my money in market.

In these turbulent times, understanding how to effectively handle finances, make astute investments, and navigate economic challenges is paramount. Yet, my primary concern lies in augmenting my stagnant reserve of $240k, which has remained dormant for an extended period without any significant gains. While I'm dedicated to a long-term strategy, the persistent threat of inflation depleting my savings and the continuous decline of my portfolio necessitate urgent action and resolution.

Great video. I watch several youtube videos on how to trade in the market but haven’t made any headstart because they are either talking some gibberish or sharing their story of how they made it and I do not want to make mistakes by taking risks in my own handswil

I lost over $70K when everything started to tank. Not because I was in an exchange that went belly up. I was just stupid to hold and because that's what everyone said. I'm still responsible. My favorite pieces of investment advice: 1.) NEVER try to time the market. If Warren Buffet can't do it, then neither can you. 2.) Investing is a roller coaster of highs and lows, but the only people that get hurt are the ones that jump off in the middle. Leave your money alone, and don't hurt yourself by taking your money out.

Early saving and investing money creates compounds growth, it's a beautiful thing.But it takes focus and discipline. You need to be focused enough to commit to a plan and a process. I’m a dividend investor, my wife and I have invested in the s&p500, both through my TSP with the government and through fidelity in her 401-k. Cashed out 370k from the S&P and invested with a full service broker.. Until about 3years ago we were 100% in the s&p after over 30 years. I’m retiring at the end of the month at 59, while my wife will retire next year at 54. We currently have 5.7 million in out tex deferred savings.

i’m new to your channel, this is the first video i saw. i love it, you did an amazing job😁

My advice is always to keep the majority in ETFs that cover multiple sectors. Then have a couple stocks, as a small percentage, picked out that you feel personally attached to or interested in. That way you can mitigate a lot of the risk but also have a personal touch to your portfolio. I feel this mitigates some of the emotional downsides or disinterest people have with investing. Also helps with the urge to constantly buy/sell with fluxes in the market. At this point I'm grateful I have an adviser, Susan Kay Mack . Credits to her, it has been a year and half of steady growth

Good that you are learning and talking about this at a young age. More of the younger crowd should be learning this, we are teaching our kids this stuff right now. Speaking from our experience with investing: (in Canada, also seek your own advice) 1. Save money, stop spending on crap. Until you have enough to get involved in the Capital Markets. 1a. If you work a full time job and have a decent salary, RRSP/IRA first before TFSA for the tax deduction. And if you live in Canada, better to stick to stocks on the TMX that pay dividends due to the tax credit and not dealing with US dividends.(starting out, you don't have enough money to reach south anyways) 2. Invest in safe interest bearing GIC or HISA until you learn, then LEARN,LEARN LEARN some more. 3. We then started with individual Large/Mega Cap dividend paying stocks, DRIP in registered accounts and took dividends in cash in non-registered accounts. (ETFs, Mutual funds both have fees that are far more than commissions,you can build the same investment for less) Why own the whole index when the majority of stocks are not worth owning) 4.We LEARNED the derivative Options market (then starting selling Covered Calls to supplement our dividend income) 5. Continue learning..... and you will see where the real money is made in this world, Selling Naked Call/Put option premium. After lots of learning and practice in a test account, hit the Chicago Options market, but this is not for rookies! Our journey has been over the last 30 years. There are lots of tutorial videos on youtube about this topic, it will take years to learn, but so what, most kids go to school for 4 years of University/College before earning a single dollar in their specific field. Be patient. Take the time and LEARN, but you have to be good with numbers. As for the young lady speaking in this video, decent beginner advice, but there are safer and more profitable ways to make more than the benchmark, but it doesn't come from Mutual funds or ETFs.
