There is actually a lot more brands than 2. Vinyl cutters were around before cricut and all these non commercial units, I prefer brother as they have some nice units and dont require a cloud subscription
@@randomguy7806 are you talking printed decals? A lot of local vinyl shops can make printed vinyl decals. There is printable vinyl made by oracal, I haven't used it yet but I am going to get some and try it. I have a buddy at a local body shop who has someone who makes pretty good replica decals

Unless they changed their mind last I checked, Cricut is going to start with some subscription model that will practically make it a requirement to use their cutter. Wife prefers Silhouette. Something about how it cuts letters if I recall correctly. Says she can always tell if the letters were done with a Cricut or not.
Gave my Mum a Cricut Joy as a Gift. After testing it for myself, as I was looking for a bigger Plotter for myself to cut Vinyl, I will definitely go with Silhouette. Cricut is fine, if you‘re ok with the monthly subscription. Otherwise you are either limited in ease of use and designs, or you have to use workarounds. Or 3rd party Apps (which are often subscription based).
@@blazingumbreon4598 Well,… you don’t have to. But if you want to use all fonts, designs and so on within the App, you have to go with a subscription. That’s what I think, after testing my mothers Cricut Joy. I haven’t tested the desktop software, I have to admit. But let alone the fact, that you can’t use the fonts already installed on your phone os is annoying.
What a great tutorial! I have watched other videos on how to make vinyl stickers using a cricut & they go so fast you can't see how it's really done. Also the annoying background music when they speed up the video 🙄😖. I don't currently own any machine for this purpose, but I'm researching & that's how I came across your video. You are awesome for showing EVERYTHING step by step like you did. You truly make it look so easy. I'm still nervous to try it out, but I now have this video I can rewatch to remind me how it's done! So long story short I came across a store that makes decals and I thought they were really cool and that I wanted to make em so I came to RU-vid and selected this vid I looked at who made it and your the same person I watched on TikTok lol

Great tutorial! I am interested in getting into this for some hobby projects like making decals for models such as rockets, cars, etc. One thing I am interested in is multi-colored decals, i.e., can I produce a color pattern like a flame with yellow, red, etc and then print on vinyl and then cut it out...I suspect the answer is yes, but don't know that at this time...again...thanks for the video...starting to understand the process...
I am not an expert, my understanding is for your question (detailed red & Yellow fire) you would need a vinal printer which can get expensive depending on how big a decal your want to make. Or alternatively if it is a simple design with few colors (like a 2 part flame design), you could just get a cutter and split the design to cut the 2 parts out of red and yellow vinal and just line them up when you apply stickers to the surface you want.
You'd need a good printer and sticker paper then cut it with a plotter. There are machines that do it all in one but they're spendy have a hunt on youtube people have put out specific videos like that
You dont want to speed up the cutting, slower cutting gives better results. The silhouette also has a built in test cut. I suggest you read the owner's manual

If you’re familiar with photoshop or illustrator.... make it png “vector” then bring it into the cameo software and then follow the instructions on this video
