Hi I am new here, starting Medicare next month. My question is how does deductible work ? I signed up for Medicare A&B, and I am keeping my original insurance which will be my secondary insurance. Can you provide an example with the deductible for a doctor’s visit using Medicare? Thank you so much!

Hi! Medicare and group insurance actually don't work well together. If you are going onto Medicare, it is best to make the full transition. I recommend enrolling in a Medigap plan, but Medicare Advantage is the other choice. Give us a call at 877-885-3484 and we can walk you through everything!

I will be 65 in November. I took early Social Security at 62. Do I need to apply for Medicare parts A+B or, am I already enrolled by the Government? Thanks

If you are already on SS, you will be automatically enrolled. I would imagine that you’ll see your card sometime in July or August. Hope that helps!

Hi Robert! You should be receiving your card sometime very soon! If you take SS benefits before age 65, you are automatically enrolled in both Part A and Part B. Your Medicare card usually comes about 3-4 months before it is effective (Nov 1).

If I pick original Medicare with a supplement plan (instead of an advantage plan).......can I still also keep and use my Pennsylvania Medicaid plan as well? Or are there rules against having original, a supplement, AND medicaid (as a secondary) all at the same time?

Unfortunately, you cannot have a Medicare Supplement plan if you have Medicaid. Medicaid has special plans designed that work with Medicare.

@@MedicareonVideo But if you pass up the 6 month enrollment period for a gap plan because you have Medicaid, and then you later lose your Medicaid, you can't go back and get a gap plan without medical underwriting, correct? Or is there a special enrollment opportunity again (with no medical underwriting) due to the loss of Medicaid?

Roth conversions are going to kill me with high IRMAA costs even though my retirement income is low. Roth conversions are not something they will appeal for.

Only convert up into the top of the bracket that keeps you out of Irmma. If you do it any other way, then it's actually your own fault. You're not making a lot of sense. Overdoing Roth conversions are not necessarily the right thing to be doing in the first place. Hold off taking your social security, let it grow until you're 70 years old, and only convert up to the maximum of the bracket
