For new skaters, the most first thing you have to do is to find wich foot you're more comfortable with, it can be confusing if you're using the wrong leg
I know someone that can ride goofy and push normal on that stance but can't do a trick. But can ride regular when pushing mongo and can ollie high and do 180s on regular stance.
@@sewergang3460 , I can only drop in and manual in switch comfortable, that's because I started not know Jack skating switch because it comfortable..learn fakie and manuals but couldn't figure out why I couldn't oli until I started skate regular even when it felt uncomfortable or couldn't do anything... eventually I started getting my tricks down.
Ayy I've a problem, I can only ride with my right leg front. But I can only do tricks with my right leg in the back. I'm just starting off, so I don't know if this is usual for people
facts my road is just rubbing its hands waiting to trip me up with it's bumpy rough ass surface. I can't skate anywhere but the park that's 20 min away. So frustrating
Start with making sure you have even weight over the board and place your feet where the bolts are. This will help. Too much weight on either the tail or nose will send you flying. Good Luck :)
I started skating last month…I’m a 30yr old man that grew up living a rough life and chose the gangster life…but now I’m calmer and trying to do good things ….I always respected and loved skateboarding culture, since a kid . Here I am now lol ….I can do an Ollie and form a kick flip but can’t land it…but videos like this are real educational..thank u guys ..is $170 a fair price for a Brand new Complete set up Baker skate board?just making sure that I wasn’t played….and is pushing mongo still frowned upon? Smh embarrassing..(Poser)jk …but I’m fixing everything before I’m too dedicated and comfortable with my stance. Thanks homies 💯
I got a question, I started not to long ago but I already feel comfortable riding the board and I want to start learning how to Ollie, I already know the motion on how to do one but it’s the fear of doing the motion that gets me to not do the Ollie, any tips you have for me to overcome my fear? I really wanna try one but I can’t seem to overcome the fear of failing lol
Hey man it really depends on what you got but at least from my local shops $170 is a pretty standard mid to upper mid range price for a board, my last was about $185 after tax. Mongo is still a very frowned upon technique in the community for the most part, mainly with younger skaters, but at the end of the day it’s whatever you enjoy doing. While I personally will tell new skaters that pushing regular will eventually benefit you in the long run as your tricks get better and more advanced, you do what you’re comfortable with and everyone’s opinions be damned! As for the guy asking about falling and the Ollie my advice would be to practice in the grass or using something like a hand rail or fence to hold on to. It allows you to Ollie on concrete and practice on the correct surface but also allows you to control yourself more ( obviously ) and is a great way to practice tricks the farther you progress. Inevitably you’re going to fall one day and I totally understand your fear around it, but eventually you get over it and it becomes more manageable. The greatest thing skating will ever teach you is to get back up after you eat shit and get knocked down!
@@boogaloo9816 thank you bro I appreciate that fr 💯 I just bought skate trainers to put on my wheels so the board doesn’t move on concrete so I can practice ollies, yeah your right about the falling bro I’ve mentally accepted falling now so I’m not scared at trying ollies now and now with the skate trainers I’m getting on Thursday it should also be easier since my board won’t move at all while doing them haha thank you for responding!
Stay confident, balance your weight, and keep your feet where the screws or bolts are (I forgot lol, I’m also new). Make sure you slightly bend your knees.
Find which foot is your front foot and which one you're more comfortable with in the back and how you're comfortable looking. It will take a few falls but just make sure to wear pads and be safe out there!
I’ve been skating with a cruiser for 3 years and decided that it was time I switched it up to a popsicle. You vids really help a lot since I’m on a journey to master a lot of tricks! 😊❤
Im 37 and I want to learn. Never got to as a kid but had mad fun playing Tony Hawks Pro Skater lol. Now that im playing the remastered/remake im interested again. I just hope its as fun as it looks
I left skateboarding for almost 20 years, I'm 32, and I recently got back on it. One thing that I recommend that helped me get back to getting used to it is to skate everywhere you go. You gotta go to work? Skate there. Gotta pick up groceries? Skate there. The more you skate the more familiar you get with the board. Once you finally get confident with your ability to skate then you could start to advance into the next level, and those little pebbles won't harm you anymore. You can roll over them like nothing and even if they do catch you, you won't fall, because you know how to skate now.
From a person who instantly face planted the first time trying to stand on a board I suggest remembering you need to balance just try to even the weight and if you fall just get back up i believe you can do it
Bro i just started skating and been watching your vids & i gotta say your vibes are dope asf , you always give some good pointers! Thanks for all the help
