You're fking awesome for doing these vids. I'll happily pay you to teach me how to do tricks, but first I'm going to learn from all your basic vids as it's been 15 years for me since I been riding. Hilarious you said that in the vid too... Too perfect. I'll get the app once I get a bunch more practice in but thank you for adding these vids. Something has drawn me back to skating and I have felt amazing ever since I bought my new board and been out cruising again
I'm roughly 3 weeks in, 30 miles ridden on board, I feel amazing. Can manual for a few seconds... Can almost manual in switch bro!! Can't thank you enough times for making these videos my friend, I am sooo super grateful for these videos. I am def going to surpass all of them, I can clearly see my improvements every single ride I am not kidding. So exciting man, a few years from now I'll be able to do so many tricks, I can feel it in my bones dude....
I'm 68 yrs old and have decided to get back on a board, thanks for your video's. By the way I'm also a recovering cancer survivor and I'm hoping to regain some strength and balance by doing this.
This made me so happy as someone freaking out about turning 30 and trying to learn to skate again. 😅 Please be careful but have so much fun!! I hope this endeavor is going splendidly for you. 😁
My daughter asked for a skateboard and I am using this as a reason to get back into skateboarding. I’m 49 years old and 90% of my issues are mental. I appreciate these videos to help build my confidence and right things I’ve been doing wrong for the past 40 years😂
1. Popcorn 0:16 2. Nosestall 2:28 3. Caveman 3:42 4. Roll off curb 6:32 5. Roll to fakie on bank 8:28 6. Body varial 11:56 7. Riding up a bank 13:54 8. Rolling in on a bank 15:18 9. Backside kickturn on a bank 17:12 10. Frontside kickturn on a bank 20:14
You guys and the Powell-Peralta Team got me back into skating at the end of 2020. Been over a decade since I did any trick skating and will definitely follow this entire series and see if I can land my first ever kick flip! I have all the shove variations and even landed a heel flip long ago but never landed a kick flip and my goal is to land one before I turn 40. I'll be 39 this year so LET's GOOOO!!!!
How is it going? I was the same, couldn’t land a kick flip but could heel flip. I even landed a hard flip on carpet just on a deck no wheels xD. I don’t know if I could do all the shove-it’s. Maybe try practicing the kick flip in dry grass or even on carpet inside.
@@smking_125 great advice! I will try that. Still haven’t landed one yet. I’ve seen holding onto a fence is really helpful too so I’ll find a spot with grass and a fence!
Been loving these videos! Using them to help my 35 year old self learn how to skate for the first time! Just over a week In and I'm already feeling more comfortable! I'm really enjoying the progression!
Just started skateboarding again recently. I'm 25 now and originally started skating when I was about 10 years old. I fell out of it over time as I got into high school and quit by the time I graduated. It's been at least 5 years since I've been on a board and you guys have inspired me to go back to my local skate shop, build a new complete with the shop deck and get back out to some of my favorite parks. Thank you so much Braille and huge shoutout from Kansas City, MO and our local shop, Escapist!
Turning 43 on Thursday, my new complete will be here on Thursday, i’m jumping back in to skateboarding, haven’t done it on a daily basis since 1996, already warming up on a bunch of basic tricks on my stepsons board, can’t stop binge watching Braille 👊🏼😎
Same, man. I skated through all of my teenage years and started back last year after an old friend passed away. I’m turning 43 this year as well. Feels great, I love it.
@@brailleskateboarding Thank you so much guys, oh I’m gonna need help, already landing little 2 stair ollies,🤣 not bad for an old man! I really do like what you guys do with the channel and I dig your tutorials 🙏🏻😎💯
I used to skate when I was a teen and transitioned to longboarding in college. Haven't been on a skateboard in years and now I'm 31 and you guys have inspired me to get back into it. Been watching your videos for years now. Keep doing what you're doing
Recently got my first real board after not skating for over 20 years. This series is honestly great, seeing how exactly each step builds upon previous steps is helpful. Thanks guys.
I just started skating again two weeks ago after 15 years, and I just rolled off my first curb today!! 🤯 Thank you so much for how you break these steps down 🙏 The enjoyment I’ve gotten from this piece of wood on wheels is so hard to put into words. Sincerely, thank you.
Thanks for these new videos guys! Me and my son watch the channel a lot, and now he’s finally getting into skating while I get back into it too! We’ve both loved watching these together 😁
38 years old and just decided after years of dreaming about being on my old skateboard I finally bought myself another DarkStar complete with brand new Bones bearings - never fell out of love with the sport but am finally making time for it again - Braille team rocks and Aaron your videos are amazing and positive - thank you!
Getting back into skating at 23 and I’ve been watching all of these videos to try and learn! These videos have heightened my confidence in going to a park and doing some tricks!
@@ImaginationHobbies right on! Got my first shove it since back then today! I'm excited but trying to take it very slow because getting hurt is less of an option for me these days lol. Hope you're enjoying it as much as I am.
My son (7) started skateboard recently so ive been watching tons and tons of videos so I can guide him and I think this serie is the best for our situation! We have alot of fun trying to learn skateboard and going to the skatepark! Now I know how to guide him and what he needs to work on thank you so much!
Loving these videos! The other day I turned completely on the street. I practiced doing the move a bunch in the grass first. Going to get skate trainers soon. Been seeing small improvements every session 💙really appreciate the time you’re putting into these videos!!! TODA RABA!
I am so happy you have done these videos. It's pure gold for beginners like me. I got so excited, I bought a board the next day after I watched your first bootcamp video. On my second day I already do Popcorn, basic 180 pivots, kickturns ans other stuff. I thought it all should be difficult, but it's actually not, thanks to you man, apreciated!
Just bought my first board in 17 years just a month ago, been going to the local skatepark down the street from my house. The scene is A lot more chill than it was when I first was skating. Thank you to all the younger skaters for taking the toxicity out of the skateboarding scene.
@@brailleskateboarding yeah. You ask for help in 2007 and they laugh at you for asking help, now everyone’s like “Yeah man, I have no problem helping.”
I fell in love with skateboarding when i was 11, at that time I didn’t have much time to play, but now I’m in college. And took a gap year,so I just have a tons of time to play it . I can’t Ollie but kick turn, basic push and crabwalk ,etc
Your vids are awesome bloke, I've just turned 50 and getting back into it because my 11yr old daughter is super keen, your breakdown vids are making it so much easier and also helping me get back to the basics after so long off the board 😎👍🏻
36 years old getting back into it after 20+ years. I'd casually ride my skateboard over the years, but haven't landed anything other than an ollie for a long time. Really excited to see how I can pick it all up again.
Skated when I was a teen. I’m 30 now and I have a 13 year old daughter. Just bought us some super dope Element boards for her bday! We’re super stoked to learn with you! Thank you!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Just started again recently after almost a decade if not skating. Your videos have been so helpful and I’ve been having more fun than I can describe! Thank you!!
So happy this series is out. I just started skating again after 15 years and decided I'd just hop on a board and go at it like I hadnt stopped. A silly slip and fall effed my leg up, then winter hit basically overnight. Watching these helped me realize "hey, maybe slow it down and realize your not as balanced as you used to be" and it's been helpful to find where I screwed up and how I can fix it haha. Thank you guys :)
Loving these bootcamp vids keep em coming, my brother and I just got back in to skateboarding after about a decade; and I was finally able to drop in for the first time on a mini quarter pipe!
Was up Aaron been skatin since December since dec 21’ one yr now yours was the first vid I watched “how to Ollie” and now watching boot camp to brush up, here for the kickflip Great Lessons !
I just bought my own McNugget board from yall and I can’t wait to start!!! Thank you for these videos they definitely inspired me to do it again !!!❤❤❤
Hello, I just got a board and haven’t been on one in over 20 years I’m 44 now. I wasn’t great at it as a teenager either but I’m hoping to get better. Thank you for making these super easy tutorials and making them accessible. I’ve been nervous because I broke my arm real bad when I skated years ago so it’s been scary but exciting to try again. I think your videos will help me become better
Bro my first real skateboard was back in 2016. I found braille skateboarding then and it helped me keep my sobriety. Sadly I lost that in 2017 and I sold all of my skateboards in 2018 because of few incidents. Now in 2023 I'm looking to get that back and I appreciate your videos.
Thanks so much for sharing. Comments like this are honestly what keep me going. I love hearing about it and you have my support on your skateboard and sobriety journey. Much love ❤️
Thank you so much for the lessons ❤. I have been longboarding for a while but I have just started skateboarding and these episodes are helping me A LOT! Keep it up 👆🏼. Greetings from 🇮🇹.
27 years old have been on a board in well over 6 years at the very least, I’m so excited to get back out there and learn more from where I stopped at, I love your videos your killing it!
Im completly new to skateboarding and trying to learn how to skateboard, these episodes are amazing and awesome their VERY VERY VERY helpful for us beginners
I'm 26, just picked up my board again after years & bought my 6yr old hers since wants to learn & your videos have been beyond helpful. You guys are awesome & we love watching the Braille team's stuff!!
I’m back to skating after 20 years and I was entirely at square one a few months ago. I was just talking to a friend about the things I specifically need to work on to be more comfortable, and all 5 of those specific things were in this video. Also the caveman/acid drop is one I didn’t even think about how much that would help me practice landing on my board. Thanks for the tips, I’m pumped to get these all down.
51 yo here and i am back on the board. I found a skateboard at the local thrift shop for $10 had so much fun with it i got another one! I wanted to do it right so found your vids. Thanks for the schooling!
I just got my first board and these videos have been amazing and helpful. Thank you so much. Whatever people say about you teaching skateboarding is false. You rock
I wanted to learn to skate so I could connect better with my son and understand why he love skateboarding so much. He recommended me this video to learn how to skate and now I'm actually doing it. I love this channel, the things taught are very effective. Thank you so much ❤
Im 48 about a month ago I started skateboarding for the first time. Been doing the first 10 steps im now starting to get comfortable with my board, control, balance and confidence. Thanks for the videos it’s been a big help and super fun learning and putting to practice. Now im going to start the next phase of training and I know it will be scary but im ready for the challenge
45 years old. Started surfskating to improve my surfing. Started to enjoy it so much I decided to try learning some skateboard tricks. It is a big difference between the reverse kingpin on the Carver C5 trucks vs my regular skateboard trucks. But I've been following this learn to skate videos to start learning these basic steps. Wish you guys would update the app, as it does not work with newer Android phones, but thanks for these videos. Hopefully I can learn without breaking my hip or something.
Just bought a skateboard and searched for videos and found your series. Just watching the videos I feel so confident about skateboarding. Can’t wait to start 🇷🇺
I’m coming back to skating, starting again with my wife. We are riding and taking step by step. Thank you for your motivation and guidance. Gunning for that 360 flip- presently working through the popcorn. Baby steps
You motivated me to go back to the basics with a regular skateboard. I used to skate a bit, mostly bowl riding (without mastering the basics actually) but I quit because I had big anxiety issues keeping me away from the park. A few monthes back I went back surfskating becaused I missed surfing a lot (I've moved out sadly away from the waves) and again I went back dropping in and carving the bowl but I saw videos of surfskaters landing regular skate tricks with their boards and watching most of your videos I told myself I need to grab my skate and go back from the beginning. So thank you a lot for the bootcamp I'll let you know when I land a kickflip 😂
Hi Aaron, Hi Braille, I love your videos, especially the tutorials. I skateboard as a teen, back in 2000 we had no RU-vid to learn how to skate, so I never made it past an Ollie. The last time I rode a board was 2015 and I will get a new board this year :) Taking it slow this time and start at the very beginning, with your tutorials
I just read the book Gnar Country (a book about how action sports enhance life and longevity) and decided to get a skateboard! I haven't tried doing tricks on a skateboard since high school (Im 32 now). This video series is helping me be more comfortable on a board than I ever was back in the day. Thank you, Braille!
Just recently got back into skating and I got to say I wish I had all this info as a kid it may have kept me skating as a kid a lot of this stuff I figured out with trial and error till this day I still have not successfully dropped in and I plan to break that this year let's go!!!!!!! Thanks for the awesome free content Let build the community!!!!!!
Hi, my son Shraav is 6 yrs old and he just got his 1st skateboard. He is so excited and is following your videos to learn skateboarding. Thanks for keeping it simplel...
Greetings, I just started skateboarding with my GF - Did the first episode and loved it. I'm a physical therapist and I couldn't agree more on taking the smalles steps at a time. Great work and explanations!
just bought a board Monday. after not touching a skateboard for like 12 plus years. went to a local skate park this last weekend and it was so much fun just to feel the wind while riding again never learned to ollie but im excited and watching this whole series as we go. LETS KICKFLIP!
Appreciate this video series! At 35, it's been 18 years since I've been on a board, but forgot how fun it was and I'm really wanting to graduate to bowls and transition. Taking the time to learn it correctly, having to undo a long time of shamefully pushing mongo.
Just started skating again after 15 years of not being on a board. I’m trying to work up the courage to go to a local skate park. Your videos really help.
I've been cruising around on a penny board on and off for years, but I'm now super interested in learning tricks on an actual skateboard. I'll be getting one very soon, super excited to learn!
I'm 37. I started skating at 14 then 15 I got my first bass guitar I'd share sometimes then but I spent most my time practicing bass. Just bought a complete birdhouse at gummies three weeks ago. I'm following along with these videos!
The leaning rule is basically lean towards the direction you're moving in, the steeper the angle, the more you lean. Bending the knees not only gives you more flex in your legs reacting to height differences and impacts, it will also keep you closer to the ground, something that takes away a lot of the fear of falling hard. Great beginner series, and definitely shows how to get started.
