Wouldn't the item you get would be trade locked? For example, if I place a buy order and get 20 stickers, they will be trade locked for a week. What if the price drops in that week?

Yep there will be a 7 day trade hold. For your argument about "What if the price drops in that week?", well what if it goes up for that week as well. generally if you do it for 1-3 months it should balance out.

To add to this, that is why I only get skins with profit margins of at least 10%. The most an item price can drop is around 10%, so worst case scenario, you break even
