Diva has improved enormously Holly...you ride her softly and quietly, so she just relaxes and enjoys it.

I love that Diva's owner is happy to take your pointers on board! You both ride her so well and she's such an eager, talented mare! So excited to see what you guys work on with her during your stay!

You should do a Q&A about your laon horse. Example horse breed, sire and dam, what she was breed for (work horse, race horse, etc..), if she has been put to foal, and so on, i think it would be fun to learn more about Diva 😊

My horses canter is what I call 'non-existent' as she just rushes really fast with her head up, she keeps swapping her back legs and never really listens and doesnt relax. Were trying to find a way that would work for her to relax and build her strength so I'm so glad that you have managed to have a nice steady canter xox
@SarahG1183
@SarahG1183 3 года назад
wow this is a total revamp from when you started working with Diva. I will say she has a flick when she trots so I'd be curious to see what she looks like in an extended trot. Diva was amazing with you and then she was really responsive to her owner. The owner must have been a jumper prior because he didn't flinch at the height and while Diva was different with him, she still had a great demeanor and attitude. You must love riding her, she's such a willing partner! Bravo Holly!

This will actually help my stock horse who has never been taught how to jump so she runs at them. She loves jumping but she runs at the jump a lot but we can't jump in the arena and I have anxiety so that doesn't really help ....... Whenever I go out with her I will do this. She is also really clumsy with her feet so this will help with that to. Thanks for the help Holly :)

Wow, Holly. I can see such a big difference in Diva. So much better now -- nice shape over the jumps and clearly more relaxed and even. Well done. Andrew must be thrilled with this loan relationship. Oh what a difference in Diva now!! You are doing a really fantastic job with her hun. To say she hasn't yet got the ideal level of strength in her back end, she sat back on her hocks and jumped those higher fences well. I cannot wait to see how high she can actually jump when you get her sorted Holly. Looking forward to seeing more of your amazing progression together 😘

You've done great work in improving her rhythm! I would say less stretching down though as it tends to put her on the forehand and she's already built quite downhill. Look at how she carries herself on the flat with Andrew; less heavy on the forehand with more self-carriage and nice and open in the throatlatch area.

Thank you for this. I have an awful rusher. He will come around but if he gets time off, he's back to rushing again. It's lucky he's such a good jumper that I can actually focus more on his approach. XD He's one of those who likes to take pole-fence-pole or bounces as oxers!

Ok quick question. Does your horse know how? Or do you not know how?

I’ve tried different ways of getting her to do them eg over a pole or across a diagonal so I kind of know and she has done then before she she kind of knows too 😂
@sierrapalmer7347

@@toastandbutterrr oh ok, well something that might help is going across the middle of the arena and trotting and immediately going to the other lead. Also if she/hes good at that you can go across the middle, half halt, and basically just put one leg back like your asking for the canter and keep him/her straight

Hii , im not sure if this is a silly question and im sorry if it is , however latelt iv been watching your videos and finding them very useful , however you state in this video ''its imply important to make sure u get them back into a relaxed and slower rhythm'' - (i know not in those exact qords but along the lines of that) but i was wondering if u actually have any extra tips or videos that could help and explain ways of bringing them back into a mire relaxed and slower rythym , as my gelding as tends to rush alot even when not jumping and iw as wondering of u had any tips on how to slow that rythym down
