YOOOO you are a freaking genius!!! I bought a 2010 Dodge Ram with an android headunit installed. The lights would not turn on for the buttons on the radio and i looked up how to turn them on and it worked but then they would not turn off when i turned off the car. This step by step video solved all my problems. Thank you brother!
@@nopenottoday4105 I also have an amp and it doesn't cause any issues. When I turn the engine off the amp is not working. The amp only turns on when they key ignition switch is on Accessory and forward of course. I wonder what could be keeping your Unit powered on all the time. My only advice would be to look into the canbus installation see how those wires are connected. I recently sent a photo link to someone looking for the correct installation of these units. I will write back with the link and make give it a look. Or ask the people who wired your amp to see if they can make sense of it.
You saved me a lot of nerves my friend Had this problem for about a year now with my android Radio Norhing helped, then I randomly found your Video and my problem is solved now! Thank you very much my brother you cant imagine how much you helped me with this Video !!
Hi there. I found your video today because a few months ago I bought a Chinese Head Unit, and since I fitted it, if I didn't drive the car for a week my car battery would go flat. Only today I learned that these units draw more electricity than older radios, when left in stand by. Tomorrow, I'll be fitting a new alternator, which I think I damaged by using jump leads so many times, because of the battery being flat. Once I've done that, I'll follow your instructions here and let you know how I got on. Thanks for the vid!
Thanks a ton mate..worked!! I was really worried about battery drainage issue..I got my self a Chinese android display(that's what we get easily here in South aisa) Hope now my car battery remains intact👍
To really stop the battery draining change the power circuit to the cigarette lighter circuit that’s completely off with the car key when you stop the car.
This seems like a neat idea but many cannot handle electronics of the car. Mine was wired by a professional 😅, they should have known this thing probably, but yet again a professional doesn't always mean good at their job🤷🏻♂️
@@albinskenderovski It's really easy, I did it myself and I'm 81. In your fuse box detect witch is the one that protects the cigarette lighter and take it out, with a piggy back fuse holder take that place and connect a wire under the car dash, cut the original PWR cable from the harness and connect the new PWR cable that comes from the fuse box. Done, when you switch of the key there is NO PWR to the unit. Good Luck
I have it set to sleep for one day (24 hours) because I like the fast asf boot while in the city, after that it shuts down completely so the battery wont die on roadtrips, cruises etc. (in theory, no idea of that setting even works 😂)
I found a solution to the problem!!! For everyone who the tip from the video doesn't work!!! - You must disconnect the connector of the two orange and red cables from the main bone. Thanks to this, after removing the key from the ignition, the radio will turn off. The video that shows how to solve the problem is titled: "Android Autoradio zieht Batterie leer. Hier die Lösung!!! Android car Radio is draining battery."
I'm going to test this setting. There's also a cable "Low Use", in the cable tree from the Radio. Disconnecting it can save Battery too. I'll let you know if this one works too. Thanks for tutorial
Yes I tried with the cable "Low Use", actually took it to a car electrician and he said he fixed it and that he knew what the problem was. However, I knew that after at least two hours the radio should shut down on its own, so I tested it after about 4 and half hours later, the radio was still on. The next morning the car battery had died and I had to use jumper cables, with this Setting though everything is working fine, granted it takes about 10 seconds for it to boot everytime but it is worth it knowing the battery is not being used during the time the car is off.
The battery drain issue is history but I still have the problem that my connected phone (Bluetooth) stops the Radio's MP3 player from playing when notification come in to the phone. It's a Radio issue I guess
I hope it will works! I had big problem with my battery draiging so much fast! I will test it in theses days to figure up if it will works! Thank you for your tip!
Thanks for sharing this information… I was facing the battery drain problem and was thinking about adding extra switch.. but u saved me.. just one question about wiring, where to connect yellow wire, now it is connected with battery positive and red with half key ignition..
Sorry it took me so long to respond, I don't want to cause issues for you since I really do not know about the wiring. Someone else wired it for me and I had to go back to their workshop three times and still it would not shut down completely no matter what they did, even tho they assured me it was fixed, still it wasn't. Only this software trick does the job, you have to ask someone who properly understands audio wiring. If it works like this, nice but if you still have some issue it's best someone knowledgeable wires it.... on a different note I remember posting a link to someone else, it leads to a photo I had which shows what to do with the wires if you are having trouble. Sadly I don't have the link anymore but it's in the comments, have a look when you got the time ✌🏻
Thank you for your help! I just put an android head unit to my Seat Leon MK2, and this resolved the problem with the battery drain. But, do you know, how to setup to shut down after 30min? In another version there is possibility to 30min, 1hour, 1day, 3day etc etc. Example, if you go to the shop, and next ignition you dont have to wait to boot up because the radio is in sleep mode. I think with 30min standby mode didnt drain too much the battery. Thank youuuu
Thank you so much for this!!!!! I turned it to direct shutdown like you showed. Question, is there a mode that will shut it down completely after a couple hours? That way if coming back to the car it starts up quickly but doesn’t drain overnight. Thanks again!
That would be perfect but sadly they don't have that option😅, for some cars it doesn't drain that much battery, I have no idea why it does for others. These units are hit and miss but they got a lot of features, much more than the traditional stereos that come pre-installed. So, you win some you lose some lol.
My hu is very similar and I was able to find and adjust this setting. When clicking back to the first settings screen, I was prompted for the 8888 code again (wouldnt let me "back" to the home screen). I tried clicking "Reboot" this let me restart it. Also the App button took me home. But it is still not shutting down completely. I plugged everything in as instructed on the back of the hu. No idea why it wont shut off completely but I'll go back in a couple of hours and check if it turned off completely. If you have any ideas why I'd be interested. Is it a wiring issue? Will ask Podofo support too.
@@albinskenderovski I have since located the solution - there is a tiny red wire (paired wire i believe) with a tiny plug-in on the harness that, if this tiny plastic connection is disconnected, makes the unit shut off when they key is removed from the ignition. Thank you.

Hi, did you make sure the settings were saved by going back into the settings? Sometimes it's not saved and it continues doing the same. Other times tho, the issue is with the wiring and cannot be helped by software, there is a pinned comment I think where a gentleman explains how to wire it properly :)

One more thing how to make the radio not turn on after ignition on??? I mean when i want manualy turn it on? Thanks again
That little bit is tricky and I think it has to do with the wires... and it's best if you do not fiddle with that extra setting as I remember there is an option but some people have reported the device never turning on again. I guess they are wired like that 🤷🏻♂️...I hope it solves your problem and Inonly made this video after made sure it is working for me 🙂 goodluck to you :)
@@albinskenderovski what is that option? I like to try it or even if there is just to come back to sleep mode will be great, please search for it to find the option to make it not turn it on automatically with ignition starting.
@@Meditech. I think I can find it but trust me, your radio will not work again, it is something the manufacturers have put there on purpose I guess. Hi man, thanks for this. I have just bought a PODOFO for my 2009 Skoda, everything works the same as on your video, I accessed the interface with the codes and everything, and put shut down all then I heard about the battery that is hissed. From the photo of the low-end / high-end. Do you think my 2009 Skoda Fabia 2 (2007-2014 model I think) is low end or high end? I'd like to point out that I don't have any steering wheels and seats and everything.
Thank you for sharing I have same stereo installed aftermarket in my car. I did same setting to direct shut down but it still keep draining the battery to 1.5Amp. I tried disconnecting the screen then it come to normal 0.15Amp. I tried with taking out the all the fuses while observing the current draining and find out its the stereo system that drains out but couldn’t fix it. Thank you
After doing this settings you should charge your car battery fully and then try it overnight and see if it drains the battery. Mine even after doing this settings it still drained the battery completely but only because it had already drained most of it before the settings where applied. If your wiring is correct and it fully shuts down I see no other reason why it should be draining so so much. Talk with a car electrician if possible they usually know which wires are culprits in such situations. Thanks for watching and I hope you get yours fixed 100% :)
@@jobandhaliwal723 hey! Facing same issue the force shutdown setting worked great for 2 months but somehow now facing the same battery drain issue. I have absolutely no idea, for some batteries even leaving it like this it doesn't drain it completely. This might be the case for 100% healthy batteries. I stood no chance lol, it would drain it in about 3 4 hours.
Yep, that was the whole point of it cause it drains the battery for some people and during winter it is even a bigger problem. There are some compromises to owning these units but for the price they do hold up nicely. I have one issue that keeps bugging me, when the volume goes past 19 there is a slight pause of playback and loudness is activated... I found one solution, even though a temporary one. You got a similar unit?
@@albinskenderovski I agree. There is a lot tech built into these units on the cheap. The quirks are there but few. I haven't had a problem with sound at all. Pauses with any application is sometimes sign of peak RAM or running too much in background.

My best guess is your wiring is not properly done, same thing happened to me. I went back to the car electrician and told him what is happening and he switched some wires and voila.
I would like to ask since we are same android stereo head unit (maybe) do you experienced when you are begin to start the engine and automatic reverse then back camera sees at the back but immediately shutdown
Not for me because I dont have the camera, you should try Parameter settings and see if you can find it, it is a bad translation over there just try the camera settings and reverse them back if it doesnt fix your issue
It doesn’t worked for me. Even in the factory settings it says that I’ve configured to “direct shutdown mode”. Also my operating system is exactly like the on in the video. I don’t know why it didn’t worked…
Probably your wiring is the issue here, the first time I used the settings it was wired differently, after I took it to a car electrician he changed something and I have no idea what, then I applied the settings and it was working like in the video.
That has got to be something to do with the wires. You gotta check that with a car electrician, 75% of the time static buzzing sound is because of the wires and the other 25% comes from the radio unit itself where the connectors for the speakers are. I am glad the shut down procedure works for you, and I am sorry I do not have a complete solution for the buzzing sound. I hope you fix it, take care :)
Everyone listen, first off your not familiar with wires send it to an auto electrician they know what do. For everyone else here is how I fixed it. You have your 12v ACC and ure constant 12v. Simply you need to cut these two on the harness. You need to get your 12V ACC and run it into the 12 V constant for it to only run when ignition is. on. For context look at your user manual about what wire is what in ure manual. For most android units you need to cut the red wire from where it starts at the harness, and connect to to the end of the yellow wire which follows down right into the headunit. After you have connected them, ignore the 12V current (yellow) and leave it.
Yes, if the unit is turning off and on by itself, like a bootloop, it's probably because it is getting too hot, mine does the same thing but only during very hot days. My solution is a blast the air conditioning on the coolest temperature and direct the vents inside, in about three minutes it stops the bootloop but again, this is for units like mine xyauto.
There must be a sleep option at the very least. I think those px5 units are generally better that the ac877l units...try looking for sleep mode off option :)

Hi mate :) thanks for watching...I saw your comment 2 hours ago and I havr been researching, your unit is a bit different, since you got into the factory settings I assume you can find things easily, the password was 126 for factory settings right? - If so what I think you need to do is actually find Extra Settings and it is in the usual Settings menu and go into SHUTDOWN DELAY WHEN ACC OFF, your might be set to AutoSleep and if you set it to lets say 10 seconds it will be exactly like mine and your radio will completely shutdown after 10 seconds and not go into Standby Mode but Shutdown mode. I hope this helps you. Reach out if not, I will look for other ways if there are any :) take care

Yes, on some cars this happens, but this workaround helps, the only caveat is the unit is not really fast considering boot time. Hey there After watching this video and following the steps, the red lights (phone, music etc) turns off but the screen stays on and functioning Do you have any solution? Thanks
There must be some issues with the way your unit is wired and it keeps the screen on, it's best to revert the settings back to the way they were. Check with a local car electrician and see if they can wire the unit to not use any power after the key is removed and then do these settings again.
I don't know if that's possible, depending on how your subwoofer is wired. Mine has the options for subwoofer volume but it doesn't do anything when I change it. It is found in factory settings then you go into usb settings and inside there it has Sound settings, the subwoofer is there, also some have it sound settings in main menu but it was not present in mine.
Hmmm seems like you might have an issue with the wiring, have the car checked out by a professional they know which wire to cut in order for the radio not to be On when the car key is removed from the ignition. After that, apply the same settings like in this video and test it out by turning it off and waiting for about a minute and turn on the android unit and if it boots up from scratch as in from Android logo then you are fine it will no longer drain the battery. If you cannot find these settings you could tell me the Unit model number and name so that I can try and look up the specific settings for your case. These units are almost all the same, and the same settings exist somewhere buried in the Settings menu.
