Ignoring it and not getting up and letting my cat in and out at night or screaming at them because they're making a lot of noise and the cat litter box to get my attention is hopefully the answer. My cat Mama starts waking me up at 6:30 in the morning for food and if I won't get up then she goes for the cat litter box where they scratch for like 15 minutes super loud and I don't know where else in the house I could put it because my house is not huge and I don't really want it in the kitchen. It's just me and I have one indoor cat, one indoor outdoor cat, and one outdoor cat from the neighborhood that would never leave and doesn't come in because he fights with the other two counts, so in total I have three cats plus a dog from the shelter that has issues that I would not have got had I known. The problems mainly my indoor outdoor cat Rufus. He's staying in more than ever because he's had problems with my other cat and just a whole bunch of other outdoor situation problems so he wants to stay in more now and make noise all night but he doesn't want to stay out either. If I don't let him in in the middle of the night rather than going in the garage like he used to he'll stay outside and make so much noise at my door.as he possibly can. Not to mention he's torn up all of the insulation at the front door that I put up every time from scratching it all up. Sorry if it sounds like I'm just venting I'm at my wit's end. He also wants in and out in and out all day long. I'm googling that next LOL I'm really glad you can look things up now

My cat meows constantly at night when I close the door to prevent him from being inside the room. I do that because I don’t want him jumping on things while I’m sleeping because he usually makes noises when jumping on stuff and it wakes me up. Usually 30 min to an hour before I have to wake up he wakes me up with his meowing. I try to ignore him but he never stops. He will continue to meow and scratch the door and it just gets really annoying. I think it is because he starts to feel lonely. My other cat doesn’t do this at all. I keep him outside in the living room at night as well. The cat that meows will stop meowing if I open the door and keep it open. The first 4 months I saved the cat from a Rescue, so she was fixed. She never ever made any noise, and that is why I adopted her. Around 6-8 she is able to entertain herself by running back and forth non-stop and pouncing, etc. But syddenly for the last 3 months from 11:00-12:30 she meows.

My cat rarely meows. I learnt the reasons for his meowing. If next to litter, indicates that he wants to poop but litter not yet cleared. If next to any of us, he wants to be carried and pet.

My kitten started meowing at weeks old as if she had a bad dream. 12 years later, and she still meows when she wakes up. I don't know if there's anything i can do. I believe this is a behavior issue. I call her as soon as I hear her meowing. Maybe she was taken away from her mom too soon...i don't know.

My cat came to me in February2023. She was already an adult, and simi-feral and didn't know what a litter box was. She was also pregnant. I guess you can say that she chose me, because as I was carrying in my groceries, she slipped in and then when I tried to put her back out she totally refused to go out. I'm one of those who believes in fate and destiny and cosmic attraction, therefore I believe that everything happens for a reason. She chose me for a reason. Before her kittens were born she came and went as she pleased. Then her kittens were born and she stayed inside for the duration. During this time she learned how to use the litter box. Then that's when I decided that there was no reason for her to go back out to chance getting pregnant again. Lately, she has been meowing constantly. Last night she kept me awake until 2 AM. I have been practicing ignoring this behavior and wearing wax earplugs which drowns out most of her noises. I have also discovered that she is in heat again. Could this be the reason for her meowing?

Anyone who knows how to deal with a cat that meows excessively everytime just because he wants to go outside? Im afraid i cannot give him what he wants because its too dangerous for him but im also afraid with him not pooping (but he urinates tho) except for outside. I just wanted my cat to poop even inside our house idc tbh, but because of this behavior i let him go outside for a while and he went 7 days missing after and i regret it. Soon as i found him, we immediately decided to make him a total indoor cat but im afraid he will push himself not to poop again. Im too worried :(

our burmese cat's companion of 10 years died a few weeks ago and now he is only demanding attention at night. He just doesn't seem to want us to sleep. He has always been vocal but he doesn't meow during the day that much... he sleeps most of the time and he isn't demanding but as soon as we go to bed he is on the bed demanding attention and will even meow the whole time you are petting him. I feel bad to lock him out of the bedroom but we need some sleep! We know he is lonely but we just aren't in a position to get another cat right now. Any other ideas?

My cat no matter how give sufficient play time he wakes me up at midnight meow non stop and demand to go out. He was a rescue cat and had live outdoors for years. I tried ignoring his meow at midnight u til 4am but it even gets louder and louder.

Not night time meowing, but she meows non stop in the kitchen. She doesn't even know why she's doing it. It started with her brother doing it (he wanted outside), and now she does 2 years after hes been gone (since 6m old). She's clicker trained with lots of things but i can't find a method that doesn't reinforce the meowing. Also she is never fed in the kitchen, she's fed upstairs in the office.

my cat literally wont play with anything, ever. this has been an issue since he was a kitten. i have zero way to tire him out ever, ive tried every toy possible, he just sits there, ive tried multiple cat behaviorists and vets and they couldnt find an answer. he alsp doesnt hunt, and instead "befriends" other animals that enter the yard, ive seen him have birds land on him and the squirrels will sleep next to him outside. the issue with this is he is obsessed with going into the back yard, and he is never let out ther after dark. well for the past 5 years he has cried as loudly as possible every single night by the door to be let out. he even bites me awake then cries as he walks towards the back door. the house i live in has bad accoustics and i can hear him literally anywhere in the house. i havent had a decent nights sleep of more than 4 hours in years because of this. im at my wits end honestly ive even tried putting him in another room with the doors closed but he knows how to open the doors. ive literally slept in my car tons of times to get away from the noise

Well, i found this video after my cat won't stop meowing through the night for 3 days. The second day I fell into despair and ugly crying until my brother had to take my cat away from my bedroom. He won't stop meowing when he hears another cat meowing. He once woke me up at 4 am bcs a cat was passing by my bedroom on the second floor. I tried to get his attention by giving him a feather toy for him to chase, he loves that game. Playtime is over, I brought him back into my room and he starts meowing again. I've thinking to rescue another cat so he won't feel lonely but my mom objected to that thought. He still crying and begging me to let him out of the room by clawing at my bedroom key chain as I'm typing this, just so he can sniff at the mesh door and meowing again. I don't think I can survive ignoring his loud meow, my morning shift is no joke P.s : he's still clawing at my keychain and meowing. His silent only last two minutes before he starts all over again
