Just tried this full method and omg these tips are amazingly effective. Never knew about silicone primer/foundation and water based ones not mixing. Genius. Very happy. Thank you so much.
Another fab informative video. I do have an issue with glasses taking off my foundation, going to try an eyeshadow primer. I've never used an eyeshadow primer ever 🤔 so shall get one for the old hooter 👃x
I use an eyeshadow primer where I have to draw my brows on. I'm missing a few inches of brows and brow products are designed to coat hairs, not to be painted on skin like I need them to, so the primer makes them stick and not wiped off easily. Thanks for the great video!
Holy sh*t this works! I have a lovely red pimple (cyst) right on the tip of my nose. I do MMA classes every night and there is so much sweating and rubbing against clothes that there was no way I’d be able to hide it. After scouring the interwebs I came across this tutorial. I went to the drugstore to get missing products and did it step by step to just the tip of my nose. I just did an hour of drills and rolling and I can’t believe how most of it held! There’s a little red showing through but still enough makeup to keep it toned down. And I just made a quick exit from the gym and no one was the wiser! Thank you sooo much for posting this!! ❤
Wow! These are great tips! I wear glasses, and my makeup always rubs off where the glasses make contact with my nose. I have always just accepted this as part of wearing glasses. Thank you for giving me options to make my foundation stay on. I just love your videos!
I can’t wait to try these tips! I’m 47 and have super oily skin & I still get blemishes. My skin was great until I got into my 30s & then it got rebellious on me, and so makeup & I have been a bit at war with each other. With your tips, I feel pretty confident I can win this war!💗
I have been using pretty much all the steps you did except for the setting spray first and then the pore eraser and I must say it does work!! I'm sure tweaking it just few more steps will make it perfect! Thankfully I just wear reading glasses. I loved the video! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for the tips! I always lose foundation on my nose and chin. I do have oily skin, too. Perfect timing as I have to work a gala tonight and am working for many hours before the events starts and won't be able to do my makeup right before.
Great tips!! Your channel was recommended in my comments after I complained about foundation rubbing off my nose and chin. I will try these tips! And I could listen to you all day :-D Thanks! Subbed!
Great tips! Im forever left with a red glowing nose half way through the day. I will try out the eye shadow primer tomorrow when I do my makeup! Heck what did we all do before we found you! Have a great day Gemma xx
I recently got the RCMA powder. I thought how different could this powder be from all the other colorless powders. Well let me tell you it is my favorite and it does not cost an arm and a leg😋
Hi! It is nice to see a real person giving helpful make up tips! I am a 65 year old male, with skin discoloration! I have combo skin, but it has gotten a lot drier! My question is 2 fold: Can I use a eye primer on my eleven lines and forehead lines! I also would love to purchase the Colorstay, but the Normal to Dry formula, as the Normal to Oily is too matte for my skin, and pulls on my dry parts!
Yes you can use eyeshadow primer on your face, just make sure you apply very sparingly or it will start to crease. I LOVE the colourstay for normal/dry skin. It's so beautiful on the skin. xxx
This video came at a PERFECT time!! I've been having this issue recently and have been so frustrated!!! Gemma! You're a genius! 😎 And I want that P Louise primer so bad!!!
I have dry skin and I use your step 1, setting spray all over my face as a primer but only during the hot/humid summer months. It works really well! A great drugstore eyeshadow primer is by Milani . It's great for dry skin, has a light, creamy texture and doesn't have the heavy silicone ingredients. I use it all the time. :) Of course if you have allergies, all bets are off! LOL! :D
Unbelievably helpful. You are filled with fantastic tips/advice. I’m constantly blowing my nose in the winter so this is especially helpful. Thanks so much, beautiful🍃🌸.
I've used Eyeshadow Primer forever, especially in my smile lines and in between my brows. As my foundation likes to slide into my wrinkles and move around. It works! It fills them in slightly as well. Love these tips!
I've tried all these tips and they most certainly help the foundation stay on longer, but not by much. I think I may be using the wrong primer and I don't know what I need to switch to. Your videos are great and so helpful for my 36 year old skin! Thank you!
Make sure your primer matches the foundation. If it's a water based foundation, use a water based primer etc. Same with Silicone. If you use different primer, it can repel the foundation. xxx
I've heard of people putting on eye shadow primer on their nose and chin before application! Reviews say it works! Never tried this myself though. Will try your recommendation first of making sure the face primer is on the tip of my nose and tap and not rub, see if that works, before I go to the extreme of putting eye primer on my nose and chin! Lol. Also, when I use the poreless primers for some reason my pores show even more than without using it! I don't understand why. I will try the one you used. Thank you for your help!
Yep, another great video which could’ve been aimed at me! I wear glasses, I have problems applying foundation around my nose as I have quite deep creases, and it always rubs off as I suffer with dust allergies so am constantly blowing my nose! Like you say, I would never have time to do all the tips every day but worth using for any big event and I will definitely try the first steps out for daily foundation wear...plus use a smaller brush around my nose (why did I never think of that?). Thanks Gemma. X
I'm going to be spending so much on make up come payday lol.. very informative, and love that I've now found you. Thank you.. I'm 38 and wondered why the looks of young arnt working for me lol...
Aahh 😍😍 I am going to try them ALL!!! *E.v.e.r.y.d.a.y. 😁* Loved the tips so sO SO So much!!! You know, on Tuesday I had to remove the make-up of my nose 2x and, because I was angry already, I used only the sunscreen and powder - looked finally good, but guess what, I managed to sneeze, mascara on my hand and then *mascara*! on my nose OH MAN!!
Great video as usual fab tips will definitely give this a go! I love the P Louise base it’s absolutely amazing and now I’ve got another use for it! Thanks so much xx
These are great, thank you! I have these exact issues (depending on the foundation I use) in these areas, especially my nose. Will definitely have to write them down for future reference, but will try those first two suggestions today to see if it makes a difference. Thanks again!
I love your tips, will definitely try this method. Can you advise how to stop my eyeliner and mascara from transferring onto my upper eyelids during the day? As I’m getting older the problem is getting worse. I look in the mirror to find no one has told me I have dark marks on my upper lid 🙄. Thank you
Hi, great video, can you recommend how to cover spider veins on the cheek area, before applying foundation. I have dry skin so have never used concealer and am quite new to the makeup game even though I'm in my 50s. Thankyou.
So so helpful! Hello and thank you. It's cold in Canada too, and foundation definitely rubs off, even from the cheeks when you have to pull up your scarf/neck toque...;>0
New subscriber here. Thanks for such a well done video. It's frustrating to find my makeup has been rubbed off by either my sunglasses or eyeglasses ( not to mention embarrassing ). I'm really not into setting spray, do you think your method will still work ? I gave NYX setting spray a try and found it stung after applying ( guessing it had some alcohol content ) so I returned it. Loved the brush you were working with to apply your eye shadow primer, what company sells that ? Thank you in advance, New York .
@@PamperedWolf Thx so much ! You're my hero !!! ... When you mentioned to steer clear of Matte foundation, I quickly checked the foundation I've been using and yikes ! been using Fit Me Matte + Poreless foundation ( no wonder it makes my skin resembles a corpse later in the day since I have mature skin ) ! I originally thought by using " Matte " it would tame the shine on my nose ... Should I go with a CC Cream ? I'm on a budget, thx in advance xoxoxo
Hi Gemma, That's helpful !!!!!! I do have trouble with nose and chin. I am going to try your tips tomorrow. Just thought I would ask you, is the Ordinary going to close down? I was in House of Fraser buying my serums and the lady on the Clarins counter said that, the Ordinary staff had been sent home. I was able to get what I wanted but, don't know for how long. I am going to try on line. Thank you. 😘😘
It's all up in the air at the moment for The Ordinary. I'm gutted! Brandon has shut down the company but says it should be open again in a couple of months. Hopefully it will. xxx
The ceo is no longer running the company. Estee lauder got the courts involved (they own 26% of it) and the ceo was removed. Store should open back up soon.
What are your thoughts on using silicone based primers (all the pore-filling ones I have are silicone based) in combination with water based foundation? I've seen some creators say that it's best to use silicone based primers with silicone based foundations, and vice versa, and not to interchange the two. But then how do you get pore filling and use a water based foundation?
What about with sunscreen? I know all the youtubers never use sunscreen, but it’s seriously needed for my skincare. Do you have any favorites that work better under foundation??
Would eyeshadow primer work under the eyes? That seems to be my issue. I have dark circles and a very dry under eye area. BTW Ulta brand is an excellent and very inexpensive eyeshadow primer. It comes in different shades but the matte clear shade won't change your eye shadow color. My eyeshadow lasts all day!
No time passes at all apart from the setting spray where you need to wait for 1 minute until it's dry, and yo need to wait until each layer of foundation has set. That depends on the foundation you decide to use. Mine takes about 1 minute. xxx
My foundation won't stay on around my chin and spots on my nose and sometimes right under my eyebrows and idk if it's due to dry skin or oily. I need help
This video is the STORY OF MY LIFE. I wear glasses plus I have a greasy T zone whish shones through EVERY TIME. I will try all of this next time. Thanks so much.
Hi Gemma. Could you give me a suggestion, or a fix, for this dry, itchy, peeling mess around the folds of my nose. Usually it starts with itchy bumps. Some daya it doesn't look to bad until I use my coverage. Then any cracking is magnified. If you have addressed this in another video just send me there. 😂 Thanks!!! Still loving your videos!
I sometimes have this issue. My skin is Uber sensitive, you may rethink some of the products your using, or face wash removing to much of the oils on your face. This happens to me when I over exfoliate sometimes. I usually moisturize really well at night. Rose hip oil helps. Even a small pat before makeup over moisturizer helps. I also use the rx hangover Primer which helps. Rosewater, or the lavender Mario badascu sprays help call down skin before Primer. If all else fails I use a bit of cortisone cream before my moisturizer, then prime with a good Moisturizing Primer like rx hangover, but not illuminating lol. Hope some of these help. I know the struggle is real! 😊
@@TheMotormouthmomma You are right on the products. Just narrowing down is tricky. I'm in the uber category too. I have started the cortisone and at night pure coconut oil. Thanks so much for the tips. 😊
@@TheTrpl7kat so sorry Too faced hangover rx Primer. It has coconut oil in it, and it may seem expensive, but lasts forever. It's very Moisturizing. If it's to pricey, ponds makes an intense moisturizer I sometimes use, and it doesn't breakout my face!
Also for exfoliation I use a clarisonic now but turmeric, mixed with coconut oil, or facial oil as a scrub mask does wonders and brightens the skin. You can find recipes on RU-vid, or internet. Just be careful it will stain clothes, and towels 😂
I saw a woman who used her antiperspirant (unscented) to stop sweating under her nose and on top of her upper lip in the heat and humidity and keep her foundation on. I don't know if it works. I'm too chicken to try it.
Hi nikki borden, these products are designed to be applied on our armpits, our face skin is more thin and delicate and the antiperspirant can cause inflammation and/or hyperpigmentation, the result can be "a sweaty hyperpigmented moustache", it's risky😞
What about a tutorial for glasses? My glasses Start to slip during the day down my nose. All make up gone - sticks on my effin frame.... 🙄And I strugle with my concealer as well.. 😭😭😭 *need help*
No, but I will now! 🙏💫 it makes sense because my eyelids are oily and everything comes straight off there too without eye primer, so it has to work!! 🙌 Thank you!!
Yes Pattie, especially if you use a silicone primer. This can sometimes (if you apply to much) make the skin too slippery and your foundation can slip off. Also if you use a moisturising primer and you overdo it slightly it can make your skin look a little oily. xxx
Glasses, I swear, I don't have issues with it rubbing off as much as I have issues with my glasses getting dirty because my makeup is rubbing onto them. Drives me nuts.
Tap the foundation on with your foundation brush not a beauty blender I have real trouble on my nose and chin even when I try and contour my nose my foundation comes off so don’t bother just tap!
