Alex Higgins the Irish snooker champions had all the flaws and his head used to move all over the place. But everything just seemed to come perfectly together at the precise moment he made contact with the ball. Plus Alex was always drunk. So what Brian is saying makes sense. Doesn't matter if your head moves or your elbow drops as long they don't at that precise moment.

When I first bought my first Revo shaft, I had a problem with sliding with the stock tip (was in a hurry and didn't have time to have it factory swapped.) Not blaming the equipment, it just didn't fit my style, which is a more finessed stroke, especially in 8 ball. Swapped the tip for my usual Kamui Black Soft, and the problem went away. But it showed a problem that I needed to address - my stroke on those shots was not compact and deliberate enough. Helped my game even after going back to what I was used to and drilled in on. Great stuff and thanks as always for the advice!

My friend told me I lift up a bit which is why I can't power draw and I need a better stroke because of the chicken wing and I'm not aiming at the right point but my bridge hand position is too close too. And sometimes I might be holding my cue too hard even when I'm not noticing

Proper instruction, should be able to fix your DrawShot in less than 10 minutes. But you need a few hundred reps to get it locked in and consistent.

Does the diameter of your tip make a difference in contacting the cue on the correct spot you're aiming at?

It’s pretty minor - your stroke has 10 times more importance than the tip diameter. .

Sup bro, big problem, i just bought a new que stick and Chalk and my tip is there, my tip got cracked after breaking and i often miscue when doing frozen rail shots and top spin english's. We don't have someone to fix it.

I Started sending my cues off to the manufacturer to replace tips because I don’t trust anyone to do it at a high-level anymore. Send it to them via UPS. They probably have something on their website that explains what you should do.

Each person must experiment with many different styles of stance, stroke, sticks ect to find what works best for them...Pool players comes in all kind of shapes and sizes..Write down a list of things that help you..that lis will change as you improve..

I’m an Apa 7 in 8 ball, 7 in 9 ball, I play great on a valley, but once I get on a diamond I rattle a lot of shots, any drills or tips to strengthen my stroke or accuracy? I’ve been playing about a year

You mentioned equipment. I love that. I recently bought a new breaking cue....for $10 (USD) brand new. Not used, New. I put a Cuesol SS tip on it and last week had three 8 ball breaks in five racks. What does this have to do with this video you may be asking. Well, the original tip on this cue was trash, I speant three days trying to break it off the cue. My break is a simple second ball power draw. During those three days I was sending the cueball off the table and into different rooms. The ball would hit the rack and then leave the chat. Obviously, what was happening was miscues, not drastic miscue where its jumping off the tip, but miscue none the less. This was down to that tip. That tip had absolutely no shape retention. I'd shape it up and after three breaks it would have three flat spots...well, angled spots, kinda like a poorly cut jewl. Once that tip came off, the problem went away and I get call all manor of fun names for sinking 8-balls on the break with a cue thats below bottom shelf 😅. This same cue is available on Amazon for $12 (USD) +SH if anyone is curious, but I highly recommend changing the tip though.

Every single time I miscue on a draw shot is I clench my back hand and make the tip drop to the felt. EVERY SINGLE TIME 😂 The wonderful chaulk mark on the felt tells me exactly where my tip hit.

Man I just recently got a table and found your channel... as soon as i started implementing the first lessons i found of yours my game instantly improved a lot! You are an excellent teacher and even just watching you play with no audio gives me help, you are surprisingly consistent. I especially love it when you tear apart my(and all other amateurs) game and bad habbits... i laugh and go "yeah i do that" lol, but those stick with a student.. "somthing special is about to happen" LOL.

If predator cues are outside of your price range( 700 and up) look for a Players brand cue - they’re under $250 and many cases.

Re:Closed vs open bridge. I used to shoot open always back "in the day". And back then I'd pot very well. Forward some decades and trying to get back into the game, I'm forced to use a closed bridge to aid my wonky stroke. On those days when my stroke is *on* I can sense it. I miss almost no shots. And I use an open bridge. So I disagree, a closed bridge can be a cover-up on a bad stroke. A good stroke doesn't need a closed bridge. But maybe until I get, if ever, back to my happy stroke I need a closed bridge as a band-aid. Perhaps the goal is to train out of that dependency. Or maybe live with it?

It’s best to experiment and you will probably change again over the years. I use a combination of both, but use an open bridge more today than I did just two years ago.

You will need to do drills and get in as many reps as you can. The best players have literally thousands of hours more practice than even good intermediate players. The only shortcuts are lessons, drills and practice

How much does new cloth affect cue ball response as in draw shots?

Not necessarily new, but quality cloth probably affects it by 15 to 20%

You're not wrong a good stroke is the key to not miscue but some chalks are better than others and personally yes closed bridge is more sturdy but personally I don't really think the bridge matters and open bridge does have a lot of advantages. And you do need a longer bridge for the power draw to follow through more

More people miscue and failed to draw the ball as a result of a long bridge, then almost any other reason. A long bridge does not help you with power if you’re not hitting the cue ball in the proper spot. This is one of the reasons low level players can’t control the ball and also one of the reasons they miscue- they’re trying to emulate the long bridge of people who have good strokes I’ve improved literally hundreds of DrawShot simply by shortening the players, bride. It’s one of those misnomers they keep getting repeated and hurting low intermediate players.
