I was an ophthalmologist nurse for several years some tips that also help(eyes water because they're actually dry, something people don't realize).1) put eye drops in before applying makeup, and using a eye gel at night(tip to put drops in is close your eye, tilt held back and to the right for the left eye and apply the drop in the corner of the eye and then open it and it will roll in the eye)2) Like you said warm compresses help a lot and the more often you can do it will greatly help 3) Take baby shampoo and scrub your lashes with a q-tip.4) Lastly doing a lash massage in small circular motions help also, I recommend using a soft cloth and placing it over your pointer finger and gently massaging and if you do it with a warm washcloth it will be more beneficial
I have no words to describe my gratitude to you. I've had this problem for over 10 years, my eyes cry so severely that I need to have a tissue at hand at all times to wipe out the tears, otherwise they just roll down my face and of course my make up is always ruined, no matter how many times I retouch it during the day. And this painful crust builds around the corner of my eyes from the constant tears... A nightmare. Eye drops never helped, no doctor either... Even reading is difficult, because I have to wipe out the tears constantly. I just tried this and it worked! I'm speechless! I can't that you enough! I can't believe it! Anyone ever have their eyes water so much the makeup on your upper eyelid starts to come off? It gets all itchy and applying more eye shadow just makes it worse? lol
Katie Vann yes I have the exact same problem the itching and watering in the outside corners takes my eyeshadow and liners off , tried allergy tablets and drops but it still does it ☹️
Nikkia Joy...OMG...i tried this before I went to work today and I cannot believe how much this helped. everyday for the past couple years, my eyes have watered soooo much. it literally ruined my eye makeup everyday and was such a nuisance. today, after trying this, I didn't have this problem at all. Thanks Nikkia! My eye doctor emphasizes the same thing with drops...just use lubricant drops unless you are prescribed something more. A cleansing step I follow at night is flushing my eyes with moisture drops after removing makeup. Often bits of liner or mascara become apparent and I very gently swab them off with a q-tip. My eyes generally feel so much better in the morning since I added this step to my routine. Even if you don't wear makeup, it's great to cleanse your eyes like this St night to get rid of dust or air pollution.
I have been struggling with this for a few years....was told I may need surgery. I'm a huge huge fan of eye make-up and I love to wear it and apply different shades. I'm a big mascara freak as well. Do you have advice on what to do to fix makeup problems created by eyes watering? Such as how to fix your concealer or foundation if there is a mark of demarcation?
when the concealer disappears around my inner corners, i put some porefessional primer first as it can be applied on top of makeup , let it sit for a few seconds, and reapply my concealer using the kat von d concealer brush. The touch up makeup goes on smoother because of the primer you applied.
Nikkia Joy Any tips on how to fix your makeup if you end up actually crying. Not just watery eyes but actually crying. That way we don't look like a mess afterward. I cry kind of easily. I have been to the movies many times and cried, especially if a dog gets hurt or dies. The tears just start flowing. Lol!!
I can not bealieve ! It really works ! I have this problem for 2 years I think and no cream or treatment could stop it,today I tried it in the morning and I am so happy to see that today is the first day without wattering mark around my eyes and no make-up distroyed by my tears . I have been feeling so discouraged because I love make up so much but lately every time I do my make up not even getting to my eye make up yet just concealer and then one or both of my eyes is watering like crazy and it’s impossible to finish the look. Nikkia, I just want to say that this hack is a life saver for me!! I watched your video yesterday and tried this technique today. My eyes watered a teeny tiny bit. Usually, my eyes are a watery and red mess once I finish my eye makeup. My eyes would water so bad I had tears building up in the crease of my eye messing up my eyeshadow, tears underneath my eye that would totally mess up my eye liner and concealer. I have to apply a moisturizing lip balm to the corners of my eyes at night because they would be red and chapped. I can't tell you thank you enough!! I can't tell you how happy I am to have found this video!! For years I've randomly be struggled with my eyelids watering. Hadn't happened in a while until yesterday. Ruined my eye makeup yet again. Happened by again today! I was actually even looking for a waterproof eye primer. I'm so thankful I know what the cause is & what to do about it. ❤️❤️

Thank you so much for making this video! This is a problem that plagues me everyday. I have dark under eye circles and use concealer set with powder and when my eyes water, mixed with the powder would absolutely ruin it and I’d waste so much time trying to “fix” the issue while my eyes would just keep watering. The other videos that I have watched for mibobian gland disorder have required you to go out and purchase special moisturizer masks from the ophthalmologist or to spend 45 minutes 2 or 3 times each day doing this. You helped me to see that a warm, wet cloth, 5 minutes is ALL that I will probably need. I love your channel. Even though your skin type is oily and I am dry, I still watch all of your videos ❤😊
This works, I went to my opticians and they gave me a heat pad and wipes for my eyes, stating the same massage technique that needs to be done twice a day. My eyes use to water so much it would wipe off my eyeshadow off. The cause is called Meibomian gland dysfunction. Nikki your the first MUA that I have seen mentioning this. Thank you ❤️
Thanks for the tips! I have struggled with this for awhile and it always seems to happen after a 'big" eye look. Maybe it's the powder getting in my eyes or blocking the tear ducts. Also, it seems to happen mostly in the morning and in cold weather. Your eye look is gorgeous in this video btw! Looks great with that lip color!
OMG this really works!!!! Thank you so much for making this video! I am 34 years old and for as long as I have been putting on makeup my left eye always pisses out water as soon as I start putting on makeup and then all day after that, which ruins it! I tried this technique yesterday for the 1st time and it waz a game changer!!! Being that I am pressed for time in the mornings I didn't sit for the full 5 minutes, all I did was use a paper towel and put it on when it was warm held there until it cooled off and then I did the pressing thing lol. This is the 2nd day I have done it now, and no pissing eye!! So even more so, it wasn't a fluke lol

God Bless you. I have been miserable with this very thing happening to me. In fact in happened today. I did my first halo eye look and I went so well, I thought it was very pretty. As soon as I finished my makeup my eyes started going super nuts, dripping all over my face. And I don't know if this happens to anyone else, but my right eye when it waters it eats away the shadow on the outer corner of the mobile lid and keep dissolving the shadow until the outer half of my eyeshadow on my lid is gone. Argg. I can't wait to try this, and use it for my every day life to help with the watering in general.

I have such oily skin and wasn't hydrating at all before I watched your videos, but now I moisturize and everything's so much better:) I have to try this trick out, I always seem to irritate my eyes!!! Thank you! This has helped me so much! Had been using castor oil on my eyes for lash growth but realized it was clogging my tear ducts. Just a few times of using this method has eliminated my watery eyes. Also if I apply too much eye cream at night, I have been able to do the massage and helps eliminate the watery blurry eyes!
Nikkia, you are wonderful! My eyes are so dry, I was recently prescribed Restasis. Some mornings my eyes are not watering but they are so dry it hurts to open them. I am literally walking into walls in the morning! But I found your trick works for this as well! Thank you so much for this great advice!

Thank you again for taking the time to make a video about this simple solution that otherwise is easy to overlook. It might not work for everyone, but it is definitely worth trying and finding out. Years ago, my optometrist described doing this when my eyes were suffering from dryness. It never occurred to me that this might also work for eyes that are too watery. The common factor is tear ducts that are not allowing the proper flow, whether into or out of the eye. Enjoy your day and again I appreciate you taking the time to share this info.
