my local store stocks the ultra pro 35pt magnetics and even with a perfect fit inner sleeve, it closes a little tight - do those pro mould ones have more room? awesome vid!

As you can see at 6:21 it is designed to fit card in Penny Sleeve, as oppose to for example Ultra Pro which fits only Perfect Fit or raw card.

Hey bro, thanks for the video. There is alot of controversy about innersleeves and to be on the safe side i avoid them aswell, However, some say i should be single sleeving my expensive cards in quality dragonshield standart sleeves instead of penny sleeves before toploading. Reason being that the card moves too much in penny sleeves inside the toploader and that the dragonshield sleeve is simply of better quality. However others say that this exact slace of the pennysleeve is what gives more protection, especially when sleeving it up in the first place but also incase you need to take it out potentially for grading. I am really unsure now what i should do.. Some also say the extra tightness of the DS sleeve prevents it more from warping? What made you decide to go for penny sleeve for toploaders instead of DS and also would you handle pokemon cards any different than OP cards? Would much appreciate an answer! Subbed and liked.

All the rules that apply to standard size cards like Pokemon, MTG, etc. can be used for One Piece cards. Only thing to note is that One Piece cards are a little thicker than Pokemon but still in range of 35pt products. You can notice it if you try to double sleeve OP card into thighter standard size sleeves like UG Katana. For the Penny Sleeve argument, I haven't notice any issue in my collection, and I'm leaning more into reasoning that you provided, that soft sleeve is just first layer of protection and this "slace" is important. On the other hand if you are paranoid about it or want to grade your cards just put them in Penny Sleeve + Card Saver instead of Top Loader.

Every product can be used however you like, all the One Piece cards are the same size. If you like how they look in Mini-Snap then by all means store/display them in this way! :) This video is more of general idea and to show different solutions that I use.

Do you believe perfect fit (tight) cards will “squeeze” the sides in the long term when doing double sleeving?
@PapaBear0114
@PapaBear0114 7 месяцев назад
No. I’ve had cards in ultra pro inner sleeves and protective sleeves for years. No damage
@casualraccoon3805
@casualraccoon3805 7 месяцев назад
It's a good question as there are some older topics on reddit regarding this issue. However, I believe that in current times, modern products are well made and with good quality control. It's more of lowering the risk + being cost efficient. I don't see a reason to put my card in perfect fit for long term storage if I can go with Penny Sleeve/Toploader combo. That being said if I would ever play with my expensive AAs/Trophies I would put them in sealable perfect fits + standard sleeves.

I have a question about protecting the card with a magnetic case. When i put the card in a pennysleeve the edges of the pennysleeve go over the fitting of the magnet case. I want to to ship a very expensive card and im not sure if the card is getting damaged by this
@casualraccoon3805
@casualraccoon3805 4 месяца назад
You probably use a magnetic case that is for perfect fit sleeves and not penny sleves. Avoid any unnecessary pressure on card. I would either put it in perfect fit and ship in magnetic case (unless you have Pro-Mold with Penny Sleeve case which fits penny sleeves) or just penny sleeve into top loader and team bag. Also if it's very expensive card send it as a package and not a letter. Cardmarket has some good video/article about packing cards for shipment: help.cardmarket.com/en/Packaging

Thanks for the great info. I’ve heard from some people that perfect fit sleeves can damage corner of the cards or bend them over time because of how tight they are. In your experience using them would this be true?
@casualraccoon3805
@casualraccoon3805 7 месяцев назад
Main risk with perfect fit nowadays is due to inserting and removing card. But it's still good to note that One Piece cards are thicker than for example Magic The Gathering card. So I don't see a reason to put unnecessary pressure with perfect fit on them for long term storage, as I'm risking whitening, worn edges, etc. on cards that I don't activly play. However, if I decide to play with expensive cards, I protect them by double sleeving as accidients may happen in Local Game Shops, where ppl are not careful. Additionally, I need to change standard sleeves regulary for tournament play, so sleeving and unsleeving the card from them puts more risk than having it in perfect fit once, which negates that risk as surface is protected even during standard sleeve change.

It's bad if i use perfect fit, then standard sleeve with desing (One piece sleeves) and then an outer sleeve¿
@casualraccoon3805
@casualraccoon3805 4 месяца назад
It's illegal for tournament play. So if you plan to play any big tournament like Regionals or Treasure Cup you are only allowed to double or single sleeve your deck, anything more like triple sleeving unfortunately might get you a warning, etc.

I double sleeve my expensive e series Pokemon cards before I put them into the binder is this stupid? A little concerned about the pressure on the carda
@casualraccoon3805
@casualraccoon3805 6 месяцев назад
It's not stupid. It's more of personal preferences/believes. Every modern card product should be good enough, as long as you treat your cards carefully and properly. Most binders are advertised to fit double sleeved cards, also Pokemon cards are thinner than One Piece cards. If you don't feel any resistence, when sleeving a Pokemon card into perfect fit, there should be no tension - you can see if card lies straight and there is no curving. Just follow common sense and evaluate yourself if there is any risk. Just don't overthink it and display your beatiful cards the way you enjoy them! Unless you plan to sell them, then it's always safer to go penny sleeve - toploader or penny sleeve - card saver route :)

Can you just tell me sleeves for showcasing the card while keeping them at max protection
@casualraccoon3805
@casualraccoon3805 7 месяцев назад
If we are talking about soft sleeves, probably Dragon Shield Perfect Fit Sealed as they cover all the edges. However, for any expensive card I would buy any Magnetic Case with UV protection. Also all the products I have shown in a video are linked in description for exact names.

It’s easy for some of these decks to have cards worth $100 or more a pop. You know what they say, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. I’ll happily spend the $10 on sleeves and the few minutes it takes to protect things worth that much, it’s just prudent. Also yeah tournament rules.
