with the nature of smart TVs and high speed home networks these days. this should be a native feature on the next Nintendo Switch, no need bulky HDMI cables. think of a one connection for a switch. even in handheld you could stream to your tv or computer and if you are going to play for long periods then put it in the charging dock and continue to play without having a mess of wires running from you dock, to your PC and then to your TV or display.

nice tutorial. Got it work. The first time I tried to connect it threw an error, but after trying again it seems to be running ok. What's interesting is that some games seem to run better than others, and the lag can sometimes effect play on the DS. Mega Man X was almost unplayable while mario 3d land (physical copy) and Samus returns (download) ran almost perfectly (sometimes the screen on the comp lags a bit or jumps frames). Anyone find ways in the settings to improve performance? My comp has 16g of Ram. I'm wondering if I upgraded to 32 if performance would increase.

From what I can tell performance of the streaming is based mostly on the strength of your wifi, since you are streaming purely over the wifi, and not on your computers hardware specs, although that could certainly play some role.

Blaine, i have a new nintendo 3ds xl and up to 4:30 it was looking promising untill i started boot ntr cfw selector, suddenly it started loading 3.6 automatically and said after 3 secs the load failed and #ntr is already running... and then press any key to exit can someone please help?

@@darkmessiah5309 So I either tried this or a similar video with the same app and it sort of worked. I'd make sure you put the IP address in right and that you're on the same network on both your 3ds and computer. Also run the app first on the 3ds before the computer. Hope any of that helps!

I am noticing some directories on your sdcard that I do not have. What if I do not have already have luma installed on my sdcard, as when I turn on my 3ds, I still get the same old menu and nothing like you are seeing. I believe I am missing a step in this setup.

I got it all to work! Problem is, performance is horrible and nothing I do seems to improve it in any way. My Ryzen 5 5500U is MORE than enough to handle something like this, especialy when I can stream it all to twitch at highest quality possible Also, IDK how to get audio working.. I got an Auxilary cord and plugged it into my PC and tried plugging it into my Arctis 5 2019 edition headset. My PC doesn't seem to pick up any audio from it regardless of where it's plugged

Hi, i know that you probably won't respond to this, but whenever i try to connect to my New 3DS XL, it says that it could not start remote play on the (N)3DS, how can i fix this? thank you in advance! EDIT: I fixed it, I think that I forgot that you need to leave on wireless comms, lol. You also need to redo the whole "relaunch the streaming software from your 3ds" thing

I never got the notification popup after starting the NTR thing and it just won't connect to snickerstream. It either says a short can't connect error or a longer one that lists out typical causes. I've triple checked every cause it brings up and searched for other troubleshooting guides and the like to no avail.

i dont find BootNTR on the console once i copy the two files on its SD card. When i copy them, it doesnt ask if i want to replace the already existent boot.firm file. It also warns me that the files cant be copied together with their relative properties but i dont know if this matters. I installed BootNTRMode3 for a regular Nintendo 3DSXL. "Take ownership" appears when i right click the files into the SD, do i have to do that? My Nintendo system version is 11.16

Hi Blaine, thanks for the guide. I have a question-- I seem to be stuck after starting the Boot NTR Selector app on the homescreen-- the program opens and then automatically tries to launch 3.2 and then fails and returns to the homescreen. Has anyone else had a problem where you're not getting the notification after using BootNTR? I am, and I can't get streaming to work. I'm using an original XL and the Mode3 version shows a message that it's booted, I get no notification, and if I close it then it like, reboots out of the program (fades to black and brings ne back to the menu anyway)

Do you need to jailbreak your Old 3DS XL or Old 2DS in order to do this process? Just wanna know because I am interested in doing this since 3DS Capture Boards are kind of hard to find. One last thing, can this method also record original DS games?

Yes ofcourse your systems have to be modded cause you have to get custom apps and menu. Though i wouldnt really recommend the older models as the performance isnt great

@@almightyingot Yeah I can only imagine, luckily I found a New 2DS XL on a website that specializes in selling retro games & I got it while it was on sale. Hopefully whenever I get around to modding/jailbreaking it, I don’t end up bricking the console

Could it still work if the boot files were changed to text files? What I mean is that when I double-clicked it, it would say "how would you want to open this file" I didn't see that it was highlighted on notepad, and when I clicked OK, it opened it as a text file.

Hey Blaine, thank you for the video. I have a little question . Currently i can only stream the home screen since every time i launch a game the snickerstream application just shuts down. I tried to look it up but couldn't find any solutions. do you know why this keeps happening and how can i fix it? Edit: I am using a new 2DS XL in case you need to know.

@@ramzbou3907 unfortunately no. The program ( the black box) is not closing anymore but the playerblink application still never opens up.....

Not working for me. I'm using a new 3DS XL on firmware 11.15. I'm using the most recent boot.firm file which is Luma3DS 3GX Loader v11.0, I'm also using the most recent BootNTR which is v2.13.7. I've also made sure my 3DS and PC are on the same network, Snickerstream is allowed through the firewall, and that Snickerstream is listening on port 8001, but I still get this error message: "Connection Error Could not receive the stream from your console. This usually happens if a firewall is blocking Snickerstream or if the streaming port is set incorrectly. Try to allow Snickerstream in your firewall, running it as admin and double check the streaming port in the advance menu (it should be 8001 if you didn't patch NTR)."

So... after doing all that, i enter the IP on my PC and i get an error saying "Could not start remoteplay on the (N)3DS" no matter what i do, it doesnt change... i worry that the (N) stands for "New" 3ds, and i have an original... but i made sure to download the correct cia file... any ideas how to fix?

ive done eveyrthing correctly and my 2ds xl does connect to my pc properly but when i launch a game it disconnects and stops working after a few seconds. do you know if this is a common issue?

I put in the new boot folder and now I keep getting an exception has occurred and can't use my 3ds now what do I do??? Edit: I resolved the problem I just had to install the original boot.firm
