@@Shark97281 ColdbootHaxchi, look follow this tutorial carefully but only get Haxchi, not Coldboothaxchi/CBHC or Mocha. Then you should be fine :) also he has a tutorial on his channel to mod the vWii!
@@Shark97281 Yes, 5.5.5 will still work, and do NOT use CBHC. CBHC, Haxchi, and Mocha are all CFW (Custom Firmware). Basically follow the tutorial, just don't download the CBHC files since again, it's possible it can brick your system.

I did a boo boo.. Now my wii u won't launch into the wii u main menu. It goes straight into retroarch menu after like 5 cycles of on and off whenever I turn on my wii u. Luckily I did a backup like you instructed. How do I do a fresh reinstall or any ideas on how to fix this? Everthing was running perfect for a few days, What I did wrong was while inside the retroarch menu I accidentally loaded the Haxchi Installer again. So I think that messed something up. Now I can't get into the wii u main menu to delete it. Any advice would be appreciated.
i'm a huge fan of your video guides! they're so straightforward and easy to understand :) consider trying out the new tiramisu method from the guide site, and maybe make an updated tutorial!
This video should be removed or re-titled OUTDATED! DON'T FOLLOW IT! The eShop is closed for one thing but the current method out there doesn't require buying a game. It also prevents the Wii U from being updated so Nintendo can't break it with an official update.
Are there any dangers to doing this? If I follow the instructions step by step I shouldn't brick the console? And what about data or hardware. None of that will be wrecked?
Do you need to keep the sd card inside the Wii U once you homebrew it? I'm using my switch sd card as I have nothing else to use. Edit: Also, would keeping the switch files and save data and other stuff mess up the download?
hey so when i have to add the apps in the sd card it keeps adding "example (1)" and it wont ask me to replace/merge the files can anyone help me with this
you can unhomebrew the Wii U but you have to safely delete CBHC then go to settings and format the system storage and it will delete everything but it will get rid of Homebrew perfect for updating your console
I don't think I really will need to delete those bins cuz on my Wii U I have like A-1 138 well a 2-2 256gb USB drive for loading backups and such I can't wait to get breath of the wild for free

Dont know if you can help me please. I have Hachi and now I cannot play any game. I am storing them in a 128gb sd card (in a USB pen adpater) and using my 32gb as "vehicle". Tried to install the game, it finishes and as soon as I run the game, either crashes in the beginning or states there is storage space problem (tried with NAND and it states the same error). Also, N64, Ds games, after installing they just appear in the menu in a unkown format, do I need an emulator to play them?
Hi. If anyone could help it would be great. When I get to 10:44 and click ''load'' for nanddumper nothing happens at all. I click load repeatedly with both the stylus and my finger and there is simply no response. I tried skipping nanddumper and going straight to load haxchi and the same thing happens. It is like the load button is broken. The back button also does nothing.
@@tylercoltoncolton5083 can you skip the cold boot had her jetski cuz I heard you could my friend told me you could like cuz he has a model you before but he knows a bit about it and then and then he said I could like choose to do coldboot version or non so I just chose to do non coldboot cuz I didn't want anybody to reset my console and brick it

Hey Blaine, I have a question. After successfully hacking my Wii U, installing Haxchi and CBHC, can I take the SD Card out, transfer all the data to another SD card, and use that new SD card with my Wii U? My current SD card is old and I'd rather have a newer one.

@@ariel78_ Your SD Card should preferably be 32 gigabytes large, as a full NAND backup for the console will take up around 8 or 30 gigabytes depending on your model.
Help. My Wii U is 5.5.5 firmware. When I go to start the nanddumper i get a screen saying "There is a problem with the system memory" and the error code 160-0103. And cannot progress

Ok, I've put all the files on 1 SD card for wiiu, vwii and it all works fine, retro arch for both systems, game cube games.......my 32gb wiiu is an absolute beast now!!! Thanks very very much sir......now to do the daughters 3ds....

An very well made guide. I still have 2 questions; I want to play JPN Inazuma Eleven Go Strikers disc on Wii U. After I follow your guide and installed homebrewl channel, how do i unlock all regions? Since the game i really want to play is Japanese region and i have EU Wii U. Another question; Can you tell me what SD card you bought? I also bought and 32 format, but somehow it doesn't seem to really fit let alone read it :(

when I load up the homebrew launcher, the homebrew app store and homebrew channel are nowhere to be found. I'm sure I did something wrong, but I'm not sure what I messed up. any tips or help?
Ive tried out multiple times and have also done many youtubers but for some reason it has an error message saying: FSGetMountSource failed. Please insert a FAT32 sd card. I have followed all directions correctly,rechecked files and nothing is wrong. Also my sd card is formatted to fat32 because it was set to default
Not sure if this is still an issue for you since its been a month, but I managed to fix this issue by cleaning out my SD card slot with an air duster can, worked for me after that. Makes sense since I think most wii us have been sitting around collecting dust.

Help!!! I bought a 32 gb card and it’s formatted in fat32. 1. Do I need to download the game to the sd card first? 2. Putting in the sd card is not registered as storage, do I need a sd card reader to usb in order for it to be storage?

I'm trying to use a Samsung 256GB micro SD XC with a USB adapter having a tough time getting the system/computer to recognize the SD card. When plugged in the system it asks to format and reads no problem. Then when I move over to my laptop it asks me to format the SD card to continue using it. Any suggestions?
@@gurneersingh4793 It's Fat32. Nvm I got it to work, I guess for some reason I assumed when the SD card was inserted it would appear in the USB storage area. Just put the files on my fat32 formatted 256GB micro SD XC and proceeded with the tutorial. Worked perfectly, thanks for the response
Any hard drive or flash drive you hook up to the Wii U has to be formatted in the Wii U's custom file format. After it's formatted, the only way to install games is to use WUP Hax to install games. If it's anything other then the Wii U's custom format it won't be able to go on the hard drive.
It is better quality. I just literally used the old guide to get my wii u set up and it worked perfect. The only thing that would possibly help someone else is to include the night download from The Retroarch site. It helps with the online updater portion of the guide because mine wouldn't update until I added the updated cores from retroarch.
Hey blaine when you put all the files on the sd card how did you put in the wii u is it the sd card slot in front or you put in the sd reader and plug it in from the back because it either or it keeps telling me to reformat the sd card
