The pectineus and its brethren (add. brevis and longus) are common culprits of anterior thigh pain, quad weakness, anterior testicular and labial pain in patients with tight groins, as it causes a problem I have named pectineo-femoral pinch syndrome, which is positional compression of the nerves that emerge under the inguinal ligament.
Groin tightness is common in patients with high stress (due to groin clenching), or patients with hip impingement (due to weak hip stabilization). mskneurology.com/pectineo-fem...
Patients with pectineus injury, eg., hyperabduction or sports injuries should not be stretching. They should be strengthening. Discernment between the two is generally rendered based on clinical history, exact symptoms, and triggers. Do not stretch an injured muscle.

I’ve spent years having the same issues with low back pain, tingle in big toe, hip pain, psoas tightness/pain.. all when bending the hips and coming back. I researched on the website you mentioned and I found this to be the first thing that truly described my symptoms. I hope now I have this pinpointed and can start fixing this issue.

Did you also have pain while doing hip extension ? I have the same symptoms as you described, foot tingling, extremely tight glutes all the time, front hip pain after long walk or running or just standing for hours and back stiffness, lots of money spent for PTs and no body yet helped

@@szyszak9424 yes. Definitely with hip extension and hip flexion.. Currently in the middle of a flare up with no idea how I got here.. I’m always “tight” but it flares up to where I’m locked up.. now my lower back and right side of hip is locked up.. if I flex my abs and squeeze my glutes it almost feels like the pressure in the low back goes away? Maybe just weak abs and glutes over time finally caught up to me..I’m 32 now. I don’t know. You have anything similar to that?

@@jdlewis7064 for me thing which helped some was hip flexion with resistance to strengthen psoas muscle and release tight glutes but I still didn't fix it completely, the worst thing is standing for hours i can literally feel my glutes firing all the time. Oh I forgot to mention - try backward rocking with keeping lumbar spine extended it feels good for hips as well

@@jdlewis7064 thing which helped me some was strengthening psoas muscle, but still I feel that my glutes are firing all the time and standing for long period of time in one place is not really comfortable. When I analyze my posture I tjink I stand in swayback and my hips are extended all the time which elongate the hip flexors muscles

Hi! Could you make a video on hip impingement/FAI? I have cam/pincer and the surgeon advices rehab but I have not found anything really helpful so far dispite visiting several physical therapist. Would really appriciate your help since this severley affects my athletic life and partly daily life as well. Thank you so far for a informative channel

If we have a tight pec minor, is it still safe to bench press assuming scapular kinematics are sufficient and there is no worsening of CVH symptoms? Or is it rare for CVH symptoms to NOT occur in patients with an overly tight pec minor after benching?

Could we do this stretch more than 2-3 x per week? Especially if it's providing immediate symptom relief.
@Cristi05_

stretch for more as much as you are capable of. Also try to not sit as much throughout your day because that is what is inducing the tightness.
