We become like Cinderella when we're studying :)) that's the best quote! Before I start studying for finals I have like 2-3 days when I'm the drama queen of procrastination. I clean everything, declutter, do laundry, organize all closets and drawers etc. And after all this is done I'm like... I should start studying right now. But.... watch a youtube video first. And i get from simple recipes to "how to raise a baby giraffe" and from fashion hauls to "best goals of Dinamo- Kiev". Seriously. And all this while complaining "ohh.... I've got so much to do... I'm so busy, omg." And then watch on "how to take care of your cactus" videos. I don't have and I will never have a cactus. After these 2-3 days of continuous procrastination, panic kicks in and I start studying like there's no tomorrow. 8-9h/day for 2-3 weeks. And then the cycle repeats itself :D
I have been there...SO...MANY...TIMES...lol How DO you raise a baby giraffe? hahaha I usually do that when I am intimidated by the amount of material I have to study or when I don't like the class.. -__- What snapped me out of it was dissecting all I had to do into small bits I would do throughout the day here and there. Then even if I did procrastinate, I still manages to sneak in some study time :-P Try it! Maybe it can help!! :)
Ana Mascara thank you for advice! I'll try this. I'll add some study time everyday even if it's just 30min-1h but maybe doing it constantly will alleviate the panic that kicks in before finals :)
This is so powerful comment. I think most can reflect to it :D The funny thing is that essentially difference between success and failure is not really how smart you are or whats your IQ, but rather - how much can you overcome procrastination day in and day out. Cause that is where the real progress and preparation takes place towards success.
I LOVE your perspective on time. I'm finding out that I'm more of a go with the flow kind of studyer, and I don't like forcing myself to be done with something at a certain time, I get panicky and rush a lot. I'm glad you feel the same way! 😊😊
Ana I am literally like Cinderella Even I can do my neighbours household chores instead of studying When I had 2-3 days study leave for exam ...what I do is - 1st I made my plan what I have to do then I watch your videos then Some vines etc. and then I be Drowsy , sleepy and go to sleep I am the greatest procrastinator even the procrastination is sick of me And I waste my 2 whole days doing just 1 or 2 chapters Then on 3rd day I remake the plan and just complete 1 more chapter And What I do is sleeping and wasting the whole last day and then suddenly A student wakes inside me and insist me to atleast study something or what I will write in exam 😭😭😭 Then I wake up at 2 at night to study and Thats my problem I never complete anything but then also I got good grades ....I am the best student in coaching but not in school What to do for exam 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
5:12 -5:25 "Studying can be like a vacation: just without a beach... or tanning... (grimaces)" lol! The look on your face looked as if you became more unconvinced of the comparison the more you went on. This is a great vid, though! Thanks for the tips
Your voice is so nostalgic. I started watching your videos when life wasn’t well. I was trying to get in to medical school then and I held on to your tips & tricks to make the entrance exam. I eventually got in to med school, and although I had to take a break since the pandemic started, I’m currently working in the frontline as a nurse to help out 🥰 ana, hearing your voice gives me strength and motivation when I’m reminded of the times when I wanted to get where I am right now. I’m reminded how much I wanted it in the first place.
I miss this blueish intro, it's so refreshing 😍 please bring it back! BTW, AMAZING VIDEO. one of the reasons why I scored straight A's in my finals last year. this is amazing. & so are you ♥
Well that is awesome news!!! Congratulations girl!!! YOU did all the work!!! 💖😊😊💕👍 And actually I got a lot of negative feedback on that intro :( That is why I took it down. But thank you! I liked it too.
I've literally felt so pressured to do something in a specific time and like its always thrown me off because I couldn't actually finish it and this tip about immersing yourself with time is such a great tip! Love this video and i'm sure i'll try and watch the rest because your content is original and it just speaks to me lol
Your videos are SO helpful! I am back in school after a 13 year break and was never a good student. Taking classes seriously now and pulling off hard A's using these tips. Slowly making studying less painful and more effective. Thank you!!
Hiding clocks and being lost in studying.... Wow, this is like me too! :D Your techniques and mindset are really inspiring and I am happy because you are able to share them. :)
You are gold! :-) Thanks a lot! Preparing to study hardcore for an exam this week and over the weekend for two exams next week (tuesday, wednesday), so rewatching your video and getting my motivation back. :D Thanks for being so positive!
I've honestly found it so much easier to concentrate on studying for a long time when I don't have a sense of what time it is and I get "lost in studying." It's like I'm hearing myself speak. Thank you so much for doing what you do.
You're amazing, I just found your channel and I'm addicted ! I love your tips, I agree with everything you said, how stuff that's undone bugs you, how silence doesn't help you focus...I'll be sure to follow these tips this year cuz it's a really important one for me...so thank you so much for this video :)
Welcome to my channel! I am so happy to hear that you liked the video - I hope you enjoy the other ones as well. I truly appreciate you taking the time to leave me a comment. So thank you ^_^ ❤️❤️ And please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any suggestions for future video topics. Much love from Canada!
I love listening to rain/storm sounds when I'm studying or reading. I can't listen to music as then I'll focus more on the music (being a singer) but rain/storms sounds are perfect for me! Thanks for the great tips and I totally agree about having some healthy study munchies around, helps keep my energy up too!
Ana, I really hope you know that you are definitely making many people's lives better. The depth of your thoughts which have gone into each of your videos.. Well.. I am not getting words to express my feelings. Whenever I feel stuck in something, I look into your channel. Surprisingly your videos are helping me to solve out those issues which I did not know existed with me. You are truly amazing Ana. Please don't ever feel bad about yourself.
I just got to sub! Been looking at so many study channels and I finally found the right one!! Trying to fit in all the planning work and podomoro technique have left me feeling so disturbed and in fact more unproductive. I'm totally like you and its great to find someone of the same! Thanks for the video and all the best for your finals! From Singapore here ^-^
Yey I am so happy that I was able to help. :) Best of luck for your finals - one last push before vacation right? I will finish mine in a week. Can't wait to have more time to film videos ^_^ Virtual hugs from Canada :)
Just 2 bathroom breaks? Too bad for-health. Also keep drinking water (like 2 glasses) every hour. (to keep yourself hydrated). [i know i am not a health expert but these are just the general tips taught to me]
I can relate about the part about setting the strict specific time tables and then freaking out when nothing goes to plan. I always find my self setting a time such as 1 hour to do a chapter and then the chapter ends up taking me 3 hours or more and then I start to feel stupid and then I stop studying and start procrastinating and then I start feeling bad. It's all a cycle. I reckon it's much better to just lose yourself in study and not worry about the time it takes to get through a chapter. Cheers, I thought I was the only one. :) hopefully doing this won't drain up time for other subjects.
Oh my god yes silence the killer when trying to study, i personally get distracted by music so I keep the television on. I tried to study in the library a couple of times but I hated it any little noise would just grated on me. Now I go to a coffee shop and study there I absolutely love it. Good to see you back on RU-vid, hope you get well soon and all the very best with your finals. Now time for me to get back to my study. 😊
Thank you. I was having a difficult time studying long hours. I could see the time from my computer, from my phone and from my hand watch. I didn't think it would bother me but I knew I wasn't immersed in my studies and I realized that I would be setting 1hr and a half and didn't get much done. So I thought to myself I look it up on video from RU-vid that would help me with this. I came across several of videos then I came across you're. Thank you. As I am writing this comment, I do not know what time it is. I covered it and when I start to study, I am immersed in the study and I am very glad I came across your video. Once again you and please keep making videos.
OMG you are so much like me..!I don't plan on hourly basis but daily is good for me..I have my exams and I was loosing focus..thank GOD I found you!your videos are awesome.. keep up the good work!
"Silence is the enemy"-now I knw y I get soo easily distracted during studies...and that ''music during maths" part is so true for me too!! It really works!😃😃 Thanks Ana for these tips!😘 I really needed some help with this stuff and u helped me.😊😊
OH THANK YOU!! I thought I was te only one that doesn't care about time and listens to muisc when studying!! People tend to criticize my method and tell me I have the illusion that I'm getting my shit one when I'm really not so I tend to lose confidence in myself and end up saying : Well I should have planned my time like Chris said or may be if I stopped playing music I'd be more focused and it works yeah but for a very short perido of time and I find myself procrastinating for ages just after one half an hour! Now tha tI've whached this video I'm gonna just stuck to my own method coz it's working for me and I think it's really the most efficient one
NEVER let others criticize your methods of learning. What might work for one person would probably fail with another and vice versa. :) I have used the style of studying that you describe for years and it has never let me down. So you just keep doing you :) ❤️❤️❤️
Hello Ana! When you were talking about your habits, it felt like you were describing me :) I'm a med student and these tips are amazing! You've earned a new subscriber. Best of luck :D
OH MY GOODNESS i feel bless when i found you, you know? very agree with your last advice music does good as long as you doesnt really know what song was it SENDING LOVE FROM INDONESIA!!
You're hilarious and brilliant, Ana!! I've been binge-watching your videos since last week and I seriously feel more normal seeing someone else being so geek and get as excited as I get about studying :D Keep up this great work!
hahaha I am so happy that we can relate. Nice to find a like minded person out there 😊💙💕 And thank you so much for your support - it means the world to me.
This is cool. I've been studying for months for the biggest exam of my life and I've come to all of these conclusions too. I have 2 weeks of studying left and am still trying to improve, but I guess I'm kind of a master at it already. I just have to rock these 2 last weeks. This video gives me confidence and energy to continue. I wish I had found you earlier. It feels like a joke having gone through all of the learning process when all of it was already here so simple. 🤦♂️
I myself practice the last step ..I really found it very Helpful since I keep my attention in relative to the soft music (instrumental) , you know the theory of relativity 😊 thank you for the video :)
Dear Ana you can study without getting distracted because you can concentrate more easily.. But for serious procrastinators like me pomodoro technique works better. So I have to keep my watch with me 😊. I love all your videos. Keep it up n get well soon
Cool!! I tried using the pomodoro technique but it just made me really stressed out lol I am happy to hear that it works for you. :D Will do! Thank you for taking the time to leave me a comment. 😊
Just found your channel wow I totally needed these things because I am going to join university ... Your are too awesome feel like a friend talking to me !!
Ana, thank you for your experience and time shared to help assist other like myself to bring a 'A' game to the table went studying or just readings contracts etc.
Great advice! I've got to do lots of studying this weekend. I don't turn into Cinderella when I'm supposed to be studying, I watch videos on how to study and not procrastinate. :'D Also, looking up "epic background music" is AWESOME for studying - you can find like 4, 6, hour long videos of music with no lyrics. (Two Steps From Hell is my favorite) :)
I love your videos! They are so inspiring! Good luck for you! Btw, I have portuguese test tomorrow. (good luck for me too) Love your channel, love your videos, love everything.

you were so funny in this video. loved it and loved the tips. I love listening to library noises or the sound of the rain when I study. When I had to study for huge exams I always listened to music and it was really helpful. Thanks for reinforcing this into my mind so i don't forget to do that. I love your channel!
Aw thank you so much. ^_^ I'm glad you liked the video. I also find that when it rains outside I am the most productive. There is just something about rain that is super calming. ^_^ Thank you for your support - sending you lots of hugs from Canada.

Yep. Am officially Cinderella now: time for some fave loud music and "busy work" which requires no thought --eating some chocolate w an espresso, watching cute bf mowing lawn, and re-organising my bookshelf----inspired by your background! thanks:)
