Hi Reegan, I found this response on the Erasmus Mundus website - Under Action 1, you may apply to a maximum of 3 different Masters Courses and/or Joint Doctorates per selection year. Therefore, you are usually requested to specify on the application form if you have applied to more than one programme. Under Action 2 (former External Cooperation Window) there is no limit on the number of applications by an individual per selection year, i.e you can apply to as many projects as you are qualified for. However, if you have already benefited from one mobility activity within one selection year, you are no longer eligible for mobility within that project during that selection year. Of course, if selected, you can participate only in one exchange, as you can receive only one grant. I do hope this helps you

Hi. i hold a bachelors degree in architecture from Delhi. I am currently applying for Master in Space Studies course in International Space University (ISU), France. I was wondering if Aishwarya could give some pointers on how to get a full scholarship for ISU, since Erasmus Mundus doesn;t cover ISU (as far as i know). Any other information on current students / alumni of ISU would be much appreciated. Thanks in anticipation. :)

Albert Rajkumar hi Albert. Yes you're right, application to ISU goes separate and not through Erasmus Mundus. I had applied to it too. MSS is a very competitive program. But also a good, one-year Masters program which if required can be extended to two years. People graduating from ISU literally stand a class apart. So it's good u have applied. For application process, the tricks would be pretty much similar, but mainly, have a nice SOP. Clearly stating ur passion and plan ahead.Their application form is pretty long and requires you to write quite a few things. Write those well. I will try to find some alumni of ISU and will get back to you if I find. But other than that, if you have some specific questions, please let me know that. It's easier to answer then. :) But since this application is so competitive, I'd also suggest you to apply at more places. All the very best!

Thanks Aishwarya. Its really good to get feedback in this personal uncharted territory. Its exciting to know ISU is held in such regard. I hope they don''t miss out on the opportunity to take me in. hahaha I have finished applying for ISU. Awaiting their decision now. My question to you was primarily about how to get a full/partial scholarship for ISU. I am applying for scholarships such as Charpak and Eiffel from the French Embassy and SES through ISU itself. Any additional info on how to help me fund my studies would be amazing. Please do let me know if you can introduce me to any students or alumni. That would be really helpful too. Also can you suggest me similar programs i should apply to? I really admire the inter disciplinary, inter cultural and international framework on which the MSS is based. Cheers.

Hi Jafar. I am sure ChetChat will also reply to your query. But meanwhile, I would clarify, a UG is itself 3 years in most of the countries for Astrophysics and an MS which is a Masters is for another 2 years. Erasmus has this provision too that you can study the Masters as an exchange student in Europe. As part of this, you study a year at your University and another year in one of the universities' in Europe. There are many options. However, why not go for a full Masters abroad. I think it will be more beneficial. All the best!

You need to check the University website. most of the Universities state on website that IELTS/TOEFL is required. However, if you email and ask them, they may waive it off. But u need to speak to the University administration. :)

Hi Ayush, TOEFL or IELTS, any ONE test is sufficient to prove your English speaking levels are decent. OFten in European universities, you are also excused if your school education has been in English always. You need to check with the admissions committee.

Yes mostly. But depends on the field you have studied and what field u want to go in next. From my batch, everyone went on to the jobs/ fields they wanted to go on into next. Mostly such programs also provide the statistics on their website for people to see.

Arpita, do look up the Eramus Mundus website, there will be other majors that you can pursue instead

Dear Arpita, Yes you can be eligible for Masters in this field. In that case, I'd suggest you to pursue a Bachelors in Physics. However, if you haven't studied Physics at all, it maybe a bit difficult. And hence, as #ChetChat suggested, in that case, it is a better option to look for some course in Bio. :)

@@SachinGupta-jv3xp Hi Sachin! Astromundus is currently waiting for funds from EU for the next years to give scholarships to students. There's going to be some time that Astromundus takes to return. I will advise you to not wait and apply elsewhere. Erasmus Mundus also has more Astrophysics programs, one being the SpaceMaster. You should check the website, maybe there are more. If you need more help, you can write to me directly too.
