Hi Cori! Thank you for this Tutorial. It's amazing at the Sublimation Blanks out there. The Slate looks so professional and good for so many things, i.e. Weddings, Anniversary's etc. Happy Crafting!🤗

Thank you for this on time tutorial, Cori! Bought some picture slates last year and was really afraid to mess them up, as they are pretty expensive. I feel confident in tackling this project now! 😊

Try your image slightly bigger than the slate, wrap all papers edges over slate, covering the entire back of the slate, the results will be amazing for the edging. I’ve been sublimating for over 12 years now and my slates are perfect every time. I use a traditional heat press because I find my freesub autopress presses too hard thus making the finish of the image not glossy but with what appears to be a residue on it. The reason also that I use the traditional heat press is because I can change my pressure

Are there any other options for the green mat? It is so expensive and I don't make money from my crafting.

Unfortunately no :( I know, it's WAY too expensive. I really wish there was a more budget-friendly option.

Hi Cori! Could you please supply a new (or corrected) link for the green mat. Getting a 404 missing page message on the one below the video. Either that or what is it called so I can internet search? Thanks!

Hi, I found it on her library site, search under Sublimate Slate. Here's the link: sublimation green pad.

Hi Cori, Does it make a difference if you have the slate on top of the image vs. image on top of slate? I have seen is said both ways, so was wondering if one is better than the other. Thanks for the tutorial. Always enjoy watching!

I've done coasters the other way! I think the main thing would be testing to see if you have enough time to get the heat all the way through the slate and sublimate the image. You may need more time than I have here! :)

Hi Cori, I'm watching the live replay - is there a more affordable form of the green pad? is it the same as a heat conductive silicone pad?
@HeyLetsMakeStuff
@HeyLetsMakeStuff 4 месяца назад
Unfortunately no. Silicone isn't heat conductive (it's actually the opposite, that's why we use it for baking, etc.), unless you've found something I haven't seen. The green pad has those metal fibers that heat up to the same temperature as the top plate of your heat press. That's what makes it so effective.

Enjoyed your video but living in the UK cannot access Sublimation Green Pad.....not sure of any alternatives you could recommend....

Hmm.. they are sold on Amazon (but appear to be out of stock currently). You can search and see if there are similar heat conducting pads. I have only used the green so can't speak to others, but I'm sure there are options!

Is it possible to sublimate slate using a cricut heat press?
@HeyLetsMakeStuff
@HeyLetsMakeStuff 4 месяца назад
Yes! You will have to stand there very still with heavy even pressure for many minutes, though, so it's not the easiest method.
@micheleandrade6249
@micheleandrade6249 Месяц назад
@@HeyLetsMakeStuff Actually if you have the larger Cricut easy press, you put two 5 lb weights aligned with the handle on the top and it works really well. I did approximately 32 slates using that method. Kind of cool!
