@@JustMightDIY in the second method , how would you do letters that are cut individually, what would you put over them to be able to pull it off of the mat ? I’ve been looking on how to do this and y’all video is so easy to follow !!!
I have looked and looked on youtube for simple tutorials for this. My anxiety level was through the roof! Thank you both for doing a video for beginners. THANK YOU!!!!!!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This was the absolute BEST video on using Easy Subli that i have found. I can't tell you how thankful i am for you and your easy to understand instructions! I have subscribed and hope do learn more from you two. God bless you!
This was the best tutorial on easi sub that I have found plus you used cricut and epson - which I already have! As a graphic designer for a long time, I was most excited to see that you named the PSDs properly! With descriptive text and divided by dashes! no spaces! (ignored the other psds...LOL!) It is a pet peeve of mine. I really liked this method of having the whole video edited and you both just did the narration. It was a lot easier to follow and did not waste time while looking for something. Thanks so much!
Thank you! Finally a tutorial that is easy to follow! Like many of us, we have Epson printers and showing us how to use it both ways is a bonus! Thank You . . . Thank You . . . Thank You!
For the second method I used sticker paper, more pressure and it was bomb. also my printer wouldn't feed on the easy subli. So you guys giving option 2 was a life saver thank you !!!!
What I great video!! Thank you for showing both methods, really great info here! We did run into one issue using the EasySubli and the Epson printer. We were unable to get the sheet to feed into the printer correctly. After 7 attempts I decided to try to help the paper feed. This worked, both times I tried, but the sheet didn't feed straight and the ink streaked a bit. We ended up deciding that the EasySubli was more trouble than it was worth, but this video may change that. I really like the idea of sublimating onto the EasySubli sheet, this could minimize a number of the problems we ran into. Anyway, thanks again!!
Daaaaaamn, I just bought a cricut and I am a DIY /prepress person for 25 years. You guys pushin the limits. Understanding the opaque back to the transparent ink. 🤙
I'm new to your channel and agree with a lot of others, Thank You for this tutorial. I use Sublimation paper and have the Easy Subli but hesitant on using it until now. I will try it. I did Subscribe and will be watching your videos. Again, Thank You!
Hey! Welcome to our channel - we’re so glad you’re here!! Good luck with the Easy Subli - it’s actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it! Happy sublimating. 😄
I have an order for 100 polyprolene tote bags. They will not hold up under high heat. Using the first method was the only way I can accomplish this. I am so grateful to have found your tutorial. The first method worked fabulously. My eco tank 4800 printed the easy subli without pizza wheels, which was an added bonus. Thank you both.
Since the vibrancy in color did not matter and I have a sawgrass and an epson 8550...I have had so much trouble wasting with trying to line them up and cut with my cameo...I recently bought a cricut maker...will learn how to use ot tomorrow and try it so I can print it larger than my sawgrass 500 allows...I thank you for this helpful video!!
I thought I tried every print setting and settled on Premium Matte, standard res. Most of the time it was fine, but when there was lots of black in the image, it bled into other colors. Colors were vibrant though. Glossy photo/standard was ultimately the setting that solved the bleed problem, which is what you said in the vid, I think. So thank you.
Thank you SO much! We're so glad you love watching. 😀 That heat press has been out of stock FOREVER unfortunately. Swing design has some that are pretty similar in price and function to the StarCraft heat press, and they come in fun colors like pink, coral and white. Here's a link to the pink one: shrsl.com/3kbh4
That looks great. If the white portion that you missed bothers you, you could probably use the Cricut Infusible ink markers to cover it up if you could match the color.
@@JustMightDIY How about using the markers in the 'small area' then use a Circuit (or other) teenie tiny heat press 'iron" to that area. Less chance of lifting other original design areas. Might work. OR ... maybe PRE-adjust the print to A-Sub paper bleed to a fraction of a size larger if that impossible... to over cover the already pressed Easy Subli.
Great video! You guys actually do have the best step by step video explaining this process. I learned alot and now I’m ready. Thank you. Although, I just ordered my ecotank ET 15000 as well so I’m curious. Isn’t there a slow print setting to allow more time to dry while printing for the less likelihood of those pizza marks? Also anything i should know about the Ecotank 15000 before I start using it for sublimation?
Thank you! Doing this video we went through all of the settings we could find on both the printer side and computer to slow it down for drying before it got to the pizza wheels. We even left the lid open while printing. What we showed after dozens of tries and lots of wasted EasySubli is the best we could get. The problem is EasySubli does not absorb the ink like normal sub paper. This is why we put it under some heat after printing. As for the printer, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OfBydn1XPaA.html It's been great for a year+. This was our set up of it, nothing done off camera. Make sure and have in use once a week to keep ink from congealing. Hope this answered everything and happy crafting!
Great video, easy step by step, so thank you for this. Question how many washes will this method hold the image for? Once again thank you so much for this easy step by step tutorial.
Did you use a classic iron, as per ironing shirts? If so, this don't reach the right temperatures. Would suggest purchasing a heat press ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pnDWs2S4enw.html As an example
I truly enjoy your tutorials. I tried the easy Subli as well and went through 10 sheets testing and cleaned my printer 3 times during the process and the ‘pizza wheels’ still showed up so I’m not a fan of the easy Subli. It’s too expensive to use to have the images ‘marred’ every time. I heard if you own a Sawgrass printer it works better but that’s too expensive of a ‘fix’ for the issue as a small crafter right now. I did not try the second method you demonstrated as I ran out of the Easy Subli but I wish I had seen this first. 👍❤️
Hey there! Yeah A the pizza wheels are frustrating when you try to print directly. You can purchase it by the sheet if you want to try a bit more with the second method. Links on where to purchase are in the description!
Hey there! SO glad you like it!! We didn't buy the printer cabinet- we made it using a bottom cabinet from Lowes! Here’s the video that shows how we made it: How to Make a Faux Card Catalog Cabinet | Sublimation Printer Cabinet ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AHIaaIRnrsM.html
Or possibly make an offset for the easy subli so the cut image fits into it...just thinking of ways to do this as I am in the midst of using this and having trouble...wasting time and materials
I noticed you pressed it for 45 sec in the first method. When I bought it from US cutter they sent instructions for you to only press it for 15 secs. Unfortunately It fell off the shirt by the time my daughter and I got to the supermarket. Thank you!
I love this video! I am having trouble with the easy subli sticking to the mask using the first method in this video. I've wasted so many sheets trying to get it to work. Any suggestions?
We're trying to understand the nature of your question. If it's not sticking enough, make sure the ink is dry and burnish the masking well. If it's sticking too much then make sure you're using right time, temp and pressure. Hope this helps!
Thank you for this tutorial. I have a ET 2720 and the easy subli won't feed through, but I see it went through your ET. Any tips for it to feed, or will I have to just do method 2?
hey great video just one question I may have missed it but on the direct onto the easy subli don't mirror correct only mirror the image on the second one for the print and mirror the vinyl correct
I think the reason you are having to let it dry so long is the premium matte setting. it puts on so much ink with that setting and i haven't noticed any difference than with bright white paper setting.
Hey! Thanks so much for your comment. We actually tried every print option and quality setting combination and came up with very similar results with the lack of ink drying. 😉
Hey there! Not sure we understand your question here. First, let us know which EasySubli method we demonstrated you’re talking about and then see if you can clarify the question a bit. Hope we can help!
Took a minute to find the answer, rough side up! If the subli is melting we would double check the press your using is heating up accurately. Excess heat is about the only reason for that result. Hope this helps!
Hello! Yes - that’s Teflon. We do that to protect the press in case we forget to cover something effectively. It doesn’t affect any of our prints or presses. Hope this helps!
Hey there! We didn't buy the printer cabinet- we made it using a bottom cabinet from Lowes! Here’s the video that shows the build: How to Make a Faux Card Catalog Cabinet | Sublimation Printer Cabinet ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AHIaaIRnrsM.html
yesterday for me 23/12/23, I used my easy subli for the first time. I was told NOT to mirror the easy subli, so I print out and cut the offset, then set out to cut the sublimated image, Portrait, but when I cut the offset. it was also in portrait, BUT the sublimation image printed horizontal :( so it did not line up on the easy subli, (wasted sheet of easy subli) 🥲🥲my question is. If you do not mirror the easy subli, but mirror the sublimation image, how can this line up?? I am still a sublimation newbie here. thank you.
Hey! Your sublimation image will need to be placed face down on top of your easysubli in order to be transferred, so the sublimation image needs to be mirrored. Hope this helps!
We haven't worked out of word. Don't know that setting but somewhere in the medium level of print quality. Either process should work on most fabrics and colors. How this helps! Thanks for watching!
Hey! Thanks for your question. If you want it to be larger than what the Cricut will allow, you will need to do method #2. For that, you will have to print from a different program and just cut the outline on the Cricut. Hope this helps.
I have an Epson F170, would I just need to buy the Easy Subli Mask? Does the mask come with 2 parts? I'm a little confused on the seemingly 3 parts but only showing one box.
At 2:27 we show the first method print settings At 8:51 we show the second method print settings If we ever had troubles feeding specialty paper through a printer we would tape a normal copy paper to the back of the specialty paper. This has worked for us on a few projects but we didn't have that challenge with EasySubli. Hope this helps and thank you for watching!
Hey there! Unfortunately, we don’t have a Cameo, so we wouldn’t be able to share the correct settings. We’d recommend starting with an HTV setting if it has one, testing a small shape and adjusting from there. Happy crafting!
Honest personal opinion?! What is better EasySubly or EasyColor Siser for making T-shirts... I have both Epson sublimation printer (I have to use 2 step for it) and regular inkjet Epson printer... Because you have experience, what is better results from this two paper?
Hey! We’re not using two layers - it’s just a different method of using EasySubli (if printing directly onto it doesn’t work with your printer). Hope this helps!
They make large type EasySubli. Like 20 inches by 50 yards. And have a wide format printer capable of handling it. Piecing it together would have seams and not look quality.
I just started sublimation and i'm finding kids shirts colored and high poly count are hard to find. I took the sublimation plunge because I really hated weeding HTV and I was never really confident that it would stick forever. So my question is...since this is an htv....are you able to pick at the edges and see the edge ( like in his glitter htv shirt)
It is an extremely thin htv. There's obviously going to be an edge to pick at but it is so thin and adheres strongly. You would be super hard pressed to have it come up in the edges if it's pressed correctly. One of our future videos is DTF applied to cotton or color shirts. Other options to consider ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1pmhCbGLQQE.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-33kxzjmZpJ4.html
i have individual letters , im wanting to put on a black sweat shirt , 100% polyester , what will i need to do . i printed it off on a sub paper, did i miss a step yall showed , i look at so many videos . please help !!!!!!
Hey! We haven’t tried that specific paper with EasySubli, but we have used it before on other projects. It should work well for this based on our other experience!
I have a huge shirt order that I need done by Friday and this video is everything! It’ll be my first time using easysubli but I’m trying to figure out which method I should do. Will the 2nd method last long after washes? I will try the 1st method but if I mess up right away I’m gonna try the 2nd cuz I can’t afford to mess up 😂😂😂
