How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying cast performs "Brotherhood of Man" on The Today Show - April 22, 2011 Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette are interviewed. michael-park.net/ www.howtosucceedbroadway.com/
I agree with Tom Felton's comment about Dan in this play. The first fifteen minutes you're thinking that it's Harry Potter then you're totally blown away by his performance. He literally IS Jay Pierpont Finch. No one comes close!
Radcliffe was great at the choreography, and the way he phrased / pronounced the words of the song tell me that he reallllly studied the Robert Morse version. My favorite part of this song is towards the end when Miss Jones comes in with that big Ethel Merman voice. Ruth Kobart did it originally, and Ellen Harvey was singing it here. I'm not used to thinking of Miss Jones as attractive (Kobart was older and a bit thicker), but Harvey really did great on the vocal.
dan is really a NATURAL as a showman!!! and the amazing thing is that he visibly enjoys what he is doing, harry potter, a horror or a musical. One of the milions of reasons why we should be grateful to Joanne Rowling is helping the world to discover daniel's incredible talent...
Daniel Radcliffe can do anything...except be tall. In an interview with the Actor's Studio Mr. Radcliffe said something to which every performing artist should pay heed. When asked how he motivates himself to go on stage every night (or, I suppose, before the cameras) he replied, (to the astonishment of the interviewer who, I think, suspected some cerebral 'craft' response about deep breathing and 'getting into character'), "I remind myself that a great many people are paying a great deal of money to see me in this role and I had better go out there and do my job." Admirable and wise words from a talented young man.
It should be noted that he is doing it all in a completely different accent than his natural one. And not just another accent, it’s a dialect that’s stuck in the 1930s.
Daniel Radcliffe is a really nice guy and a great actor! I saw him in Equus in London and he was outstanding but what impressed me was when he came out of the theatre a lot of youngsters were thrilled to see him and he took the time to acknowledge them and was just so polite and friendly. And in this musical he is just sensational!
I was so fortunate to have seen this cast on Broadway! How to Succeed is among my top 3 favorite musicals and Daniel has long been a favorite performer of mine as well.
I almost cried just watching this.I would do absolutely ANYTHING to see a Broadway musical.Especially this one,as Daniel Radcliffe is one of my heroes.I can afford a ticket, but getting there is going to be a problem...
He's adorable! wow and that voice!! not what i was expecting i love it! :) wished i could go and see it in new york! hope this is just the beginning to daniel's broadway carrer
Watching this in 2023 (and generally forgetting how time works) means my mind was BLOWN hearing her say that the Deathly Hallows hadn't even been released yet! What an incredible breadth of talent at a younger age than we remember. Some of his best work for sure!
I LOVE this. So much fun. One of my fave parts is at 5:50 or so when they flip Dan off the table and then all of them fall into step with the dancing. Haha! I completely understand the applause and cheers at that point.
I'm incredibly impressed by Daniel. Wow. His dancing skills are incredible, like people are saying general showmanship, his singing was also very good as well.
Gosh, it was so fantastic to see Michael on my tv again this morning! He looked great (but then when doesn't he, LOL!). I really want to see this. Love you Michael!!!
WORK IT DAN!!! Haha I loved it!! Really fun and catchy although you could hear Dan's charming accent in it, ah well lol. What I would do to see this play... I want more clips like this! Congrats on Dan for always pushing himself!! B)
Amazing in many ways but especially in their ability to modify their coordination of singing and dancing from a full Broadway stage to that small platform!
I get to see this is June, and at first I was only excited because HELLO?! Harry Potter! But now, I actually have a reason to be excited more! So excited!
please look up the matthew broderick tony performance of the same song... the woman BLOWS away this one - I can't understand why they changed this version back to the 50's movie style. :( Otherwise I did see the show, and it wasn't bad
There's someone who is well known at many community theaters near me and in the theatre department at my college who did this musical at a community theater near me and was great as well! Now I will not compare dan to the person I am speaking of whose name I won't say here for his privacy. Dan and the person who does theater near me are very different actors and performers as well. I know the person I know who played finch in HTS in my area will one day make it to Broadway one day!
I saw him in this back in April, and I could easily see he wasn't used to singing and dancing that much. His face really showed it. I give him props for lasting this long.
he's short but very good... i laughed when he sang and dance... i never pictured harry potter dancing and singing... daniel radcliffe is a good actor in broadway obviously
