How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying cast performs "Brotherhood of Man" on Late Show with David Letterman - May 19, 2011 www.howtosucceedbroadway.com/ michael-park.net/
The creativeness of this choreography never ceases to amaze me, but even more impressive about this clip to me is how well they utilized and adapted to such a small stage while performing a huge number.
watching these clips are fantastic, but occasionally one strikes a comment like this (all these years later) and it just value adds the whole experience. thankyou
Flawless accent, brilliant pitch & outstanding dance moves. He had such great charisma & enthusiasm. If anyone ever thought he would be stuck as the specky boy who lived they were wrong. He has endless talent & this is an excellent example of just how varied his performances can be.
His singing has improved pitch wise since I say the show in March. I always find it interesting how they re-stage big production numbers like this to fit in an actually very small studio such as this one. Rob Ashford deserves a lot of credit for where he has taken this show as both a director and a choreographer.
When this first aired on Letterman I saved it on my DVR. I was astounded! Love love love the energy and footwork and fun. Almost everynight I played it before going to bed. After a day of bad news and grief and strife it really cheers me up. Tonight I accidently deleted it. Ack! So glad I found it here. Thank you MichaelParkNet for posting this.
saw this on broadway this summer, and i'm not even kidding, it was the BEST broadway show i've ever seen. daniel was FANTASTIC, and i didn't feel like i was watching harry potter which was great. john larroquette was also AMAZING, everyone needs to see this show!!!!!!!
Have seen the show four times.....!!! Just love it, the whole thing is incredible--funny, energetic, well-acted. Didn't know Dan before this but his incredible courage, work ethic, energy, determination and flat out talent have floored me. Plus he's beautiful and everybody in the show loves him. He goes out and sign autographs every night although he's exhausted. And he made a pact with John Laroquette to NEVER miss one show, which is practically unheard of on Broadway. BRAVO Dan!!
I have watched a couple different versions of the performance of this song... and I really appreciate the camera shot from the back with him doing the flip. I wonder if he ever did gymnastics. That's really great body form.
Saw it live on Broadway with my wife and son and his wife. Loved it!!! I knew the story but my son was so impressed with Radcliffe. Of course he only knew him as Potter. We were all impressed. Terrific revival. Excellent
I just have to say that it really is amazing how they put that all together. I work tech for high school shows and they never even touch any of that amazing choreography. The amount of time that is put in to learn all those moves must be astronomical though. Also, Dan is really amazing
@@yashrajwadalkar5220 The called it the 11 o'clock number because some of these big musicals would last up to 3 hours or more (with intermission thrown in and sometimes the 8:00 curtain may not rise till 8:15 or something). It was usually the last big number to "wake" the audience up and to signal they were nearing the end of the production.
PasadenaGrandma - the score is written that way for the Miss Jones part. (I played the role long ago.) It's incredibly difficult to sing over all those guys and then to be swaying like that - wow - so difficult. She was fabulous! This was amazing - wow - what choreography!
1. I have to watch this on broadway 2. His american accent is not too shabby 3. His dancing has imrpoved much from the Goblet of Fire! 4. I love Daniel Radcliffe and the entire cast is just mind blowing and brilliant! Smashing!
This was amazing for many reasons, but especially how they needed to change their coordination of dancing to singing to accommodate the smaller stage! Wow!
This performance was so different to the show i watched last month, I wonder if they have changed at the teather as well, i miss the lady solo, she is really good and brings power to this performance. Does anyone know the name of the 2 guys dancing near daniel at 3:55 they are also really talented!
Oh mah gosh. the end where they push them back and forth on the table. I nerded. My school actually did this play back in the fall of last year, and this would have been much better.
I hope they turn this in the movie soon after it stops playing on broadway so more people can see it!!!! Please!!!! The main characters at tv/movie actors anyway! :D
Don't get me wrong, I love Dan as Harry Potter but it's time to let him move on. If we only ever recognize him as The Boy Who Lived... Eventually he's going to get sick of it. That's exactly why Julie Newmar (Catwoman) left the Batman series of the '60s because she was tired of everyone telling asking her to purr for them on the street. She wanted to be remembered as more than just a sexy cat but they just wouldn't let her have that :-(
@IansObsession I agree. Dan has put so much effort and work into his performance. He has been performing 8 shows a week since February and will continue to do so until January 1. Darren is only there for 3 weeks... so really he will only get a taste of what Dan has done this past year. While I'm sure he will do well, I'm not sure his performance will be quite as good as Dan's.
I can’t remember the name of the actress in the red dress, and I know they probably had to pare this down due to TV time, but really too bad they cut her solo portion of this song. She was awesome. (I know she can be seen doing it in that year’s Tony Awards presentation of this number.)
Now I've seen Daniel in his other films... and while watching them I'm not going 'Look it's Harry Potter as an Australian orphan!' or 'Look it's Harry Potter taking on the Germans!', but I wasn't really blown away either... Until Equus (no nude jokes--grow up). But now... What's after blown away? Well, whatever it is--I'm exponentially that! Daniel, you are incredible.
well he is not the best singer in the world but he is a good actor, funny and optimistic, that's just perfect for broadway, I just hope he continues acting in films buacause I would love to see him succeed
@Calgurl10 lol It's funny that you comment on Dan's facial expressions because I always thought some of the facial expressions Darren uses on Glee are quite ridiculous... especially when he's singing. He overdoes it I think. Hopefully he learns to tone it down this season and for when he does his stint on Broadway. He could be good. If I had the choice, I'd want to see Dan though, especially after watching this.
@sinatrabooth89 I saw an ad and you are right - his pitch has improved since then. Perhaps he's done some work, but also perhaps they did some sound system work. Perhaps he wasn't hearing his voice correctly.
Excited to see Darren Criss doing hand stands, retiré passés, & being tossed from side to side. Funny how he did Harry in AVPM/S w/c was DanRad's orginally, & this January, Darren'll be doing Finch, in w/c DanRad was the prior performer.
@judithkt Do you have any idea if this musical will come out on dvd? And also other musicals like The Book Of Mormon, or will u only be able to see those musicals by going to broadway or something?
I hope they turn this in the movie soon after it stops plting on broadway so more people can see it!!!! Please!!!! The main characters at tv/movie actors anyway! :D
Greatness! I never expected this from Danny Radcliffe even though I know he did like 2 years of training to get this point and he's on broadway so he HAS to be good. I loved his feel and the singing, only problem was i could see him thinking about the dancing and then congratulating himself when he did it righ(you could see it on his face) Like in the dancing sections(not all but some) i could he was daniel and not his character. But otherwise I am throughly impressed and would LOVE to see it!
