Great Demo Miles, and I went fishing from the bank this morning and used the Snakehead with the Goat trailer in the dark craw color,and was hopping it, kinda like a craw 🦞😜 might scurry, and I love that Goat as a trailer for that or sometimes a deisel minnow using the handle for the stop and go 😜😎 I think I’m learning 😊 thanks to your 🎣 tips 👍🙏

Great video. I actually just bought some new swim jigs to use on my next couple fishing trips. These different retrieves will be great to use for both fisheries.

Great video one thing that i have learned from tacticalbassin is when you have the right trailer on a jig you don't need to inpart any more action and i fish a a swim jig a lot

That can be true, but even having the right trailer isn’t enough some times. The action of a trailer is a major factor with a bass committing to eating a swim jig, but just a straight retrieve while letting the trailer do its thing isn’t going to trigger strikes from many bass, which is where adding erratic action with the rod or reel comes into play. The right trailer matched with the right retrieve is where swim jig perfection lies! Thanks for watching and the feedback!

I basically fish a regular jig or two, and if I feel the need to swim it I just swim it, works well either way. I throw a half ounce most of the time. The Classic Steve Kennedy finished I think second in on Lake Conroe, he was swimming a 1/2 or 3/4-oz jig.

Thank you Miles, nice to see you out on the water.Do you ever fish a swim jig without a weed guard? Probally not a good idea around wood? Going to do a lot more swim jig fishing this year have never done much to be honest.Thanks again this info will be applied.

I really don’t fish any swim jigs without guards, however, if I had a favorite swim jig that didn’t have one I’m sure I could find an open water scenario id fish it in. However, I feel that being somewhat weedless is a swim jigs best quality! Now would be the time to learn the swim jig for sure!!

Good tips. I have swim jig tied on already. Because it's something I don't have any confidence in & I know is a fish catcher! What other trailers do you use

Well hopefully this video helps build some confidence. Really I just use a standard chunk trailer, some sort of boot style swim tail, and a dual swim tail (like the GOAT) for pretty much all my swim jigging.

Let’s see some top water follow up baits! A bass misses your top water lure, what’s your go to to follow up right behind it? Whether you’re fishing laydowns, grass, or a shallow point that transitions to some type of cover or structure.

I don't have much luck with any type of steady retrieve with a swim jig. My main retrieve is a small drag to get their interest, then maybe some small hops. But, my main retrieve is stroking it to draw reaction bites! Even when they aren't active I can get them worked up with stroking!

I wish zman would make a trailer that was sorta like the boar hogz or the gremlinz in the back but just a nice chunk of plastic to thread on a jig. Maybe call it the hogz chunk
