The only difficult part is finding friends with a similar mindset who can help you grow instead of employee friends who drag you down. It's like a weight pulling me down. Anyway I might meet someone later, I'll manage till then.

Its not only about 'switching your mindset". Many people need actual healing ,because we carry a lot of trauma. Its an energy stuck in your body. It messes with your mind. You should start with energy healing modalities

Last year I started my own digital marketing agency as side business, and recently I quit my full-time job that was really affecting my mental health and my potential. I see so many similarities, and I'm so happy I found your channels Sorelle! I'm a rebel at heart, have never been happy as an employee. I've always had an entrepreneurial mindset but as an employee, and that has made me stuck in stagnant situations, feeling like I'm wasting my time and my life for a boss who does not appreciate any of the contributions I make. I'm so happy Im now a full-time entrepreneur, in charge of my life, my purpose, my time. Being able to enjoy the fruit that comes out of my hard work because I'm not working for myself and can see the results of the work I'm putting in. The only challenge is finding friends and circles that share the entrepreneurial mindset, so we can learn from each other and grow together. That's why I'm trying to join as many groups so I can network with similar awesome business owners!
I have a small etsy shop, for 5 months i made 2 sales. Nothing can compare to the feeling of pure joy when i get home from work and i see a message with a purchase. Or when i have no idea what to do on instagram, but i am so excited to think of something to write or post. This is the begining of my jurney i believe. This is a really valuable discussion. I’ve been an employee for 20 years and then retrained whilst still working and set up a business dropping my employed role down to part time hours. The hardest part of my journey so far (aside from trying to get the business off the ground to actually leave my job) is the toxic crabs in a bucket attitude of colleagues. They for the most part do not value nor support the free thinking or leadership qualities that come from being an entrepreneur. 3 days a week I feel myself getting pulled back into the toxic swap and then spend my non employee time trying to recover and get back on track. I’ve done this for 4 years now and cannot continue the toxic cycle. I see the vision of what I want as an entrepreneur and the value I can offer the world but just can’t seem to get there. Answers on a postcard.
There’s a quote that’s something like “work in silence and let the success make the noise,” and maybe this business you are building is just something you shouldn’t continue to mention at all to your coworkers when you’re working with them. Because they will suck your energy from you, make the decision to stop that from happening now by not giving them the chance to cast their doubts or jealousies. But my problem is that I'm struggling finding my unique niche, I need to explore more and dig more, sure I'm gonna figuring that out! I have the same mindset, i have a strong rebellious side when it comes to authority and being told what to do, it really gets in the way with where i work and is the reason that i dropped out of highschool, being there and being told who to be was so incredibly frustrating. i think my problem is that i don't have anyone with the same ideals as me, so when i want to share my thoughts or other everything gets a snide comment or a "are you sure thats the best idea"

I had the switch go off exactly how you described. I was a happy partner in a corporation until I saw how corporations treat people, how the human aspect is irrelevant. I quit and started a new career and it's been scary for sure but so freeing. I would NEVER go back to working for someone else! You channel is immensely helpful because I don't know any entrepreneurs to learn from and as most doctors, I don't have a good understanding of finance. ❤️

I’m 31 and been an employee all my life. I know I’m capable of more, and hope to use what I’ve learned to start a business that can be a legacy that I can pass on to others passionate about helping others. The overlap between employee and entrepreneur is the view from the bottom is not the same as the view from the top. Both views are important for success because it is essentially the employees that take care of the customer or consumer and the employers job is to create a workplace environment for for employees to do good quality work safely and efficiently so all parties involved benefit. The problem I see most often is the top doesn’t share views from the top and won’t listen to views from the bottom. Sustainable growth can only be achieved through both the top and bottom working together to complete the mission whatever it may be. Anyone can own a business but it takes leaders willing to step down from the top to see for themselves or making an ear available for the people satisfying clients. I enjoy your videos and hope you continue to inspire others to aspire to do better things.
It's so hard to do that, changing that mindset! I resigned from my job beginning of September to be an entrepreneur and stumbled upon this video. So glad to be more secure about my choice in doing so. You can be an employee and still build wealth through simple investing and serious money habits, don't fall into some existential crisis because you have a regular job. I recommend looking into Dave Ramseys 7 baby steps (it's free advice) I'm on step 2 which is debt free and almost done :) i still have a regular job and my financial health has improved greatly, no need to worry 👍
Well, Im from Colombia and my family is not rich, actually we are just below the middle class. Im 25 and I graduated from Fine Arts two years ago. Its been almost impossibe to me to find a job bc almost everything here works with corruption. So many good points made this presentation. Next week, shall be my 51st birthday, and for the last seven (7) years for me have been a challenge, especially when I turned 50 last year. I was self-employed for about eight (8) years which came to an end seven years ago resulting in me closing my two (2) businesses; in retrospect, my two business were not well funded, marketing was not done well, and I found myself psychologically not able to refocus and not able to recover. And, after hundreds of job application submissions later, and very few interviews, I have decided to forget about returning to the "traditional workplace" or returning to the "employee" mindset. As mentioned in this video, I came to realize I too do not like being told what to do because I have always done things differently while helping others find their potential to accomplish their goals. I am U.S Military Veteran as well who is living on a monthly military disability service-connected compensation. I have done some freelance work as side gigs, but I want something more. Therefore, I have decided to pursue my own thing once again, and this time, it be will very well thought-out and planned in the beginning, and will make adjustments when challenges arise in order to continue moving forward. I feel like I live in an entrepreneurial mindset. The problem is that setting up any of my business ideas and getting my writing published takes so much time. I need something in the meantime but my mindset means the 9-5 feels like it’s killing me. I don’t know what advice I need but it is overwhelming and horrid.

Maybe you can just divide your days into slots eg. 9am-1pm working as a freelancer to pay your bills, then lunch break, then 2-5 writing books, where you forget all about the freelance jobs and then dinner and after that - creative time, as I assume that this might not be "work", but your passion?
You may think about making an online blog where you can post some of your writings or insights and promote it then do the affiliate marketing, I believe it worths a try and best of luck!
Hi Sorelle I’m 19 from Australia and I work seasonally and sell small handmade goods so that I can travel and explore I’ve always thought that this is my path in life because I never wanted a 9/5 and I had really shitty preconceived notions about the financial world that was until I started watching these videos and I realised by having that mindset I was blocking opportunities and growth from myself, I’ve always thought the financial world was for the corrupt and greedy but watching these videos has changed my perspective so much in life (you truly have no idea) to find someone that connects spirituality and social responsibility with the financial world is something that I just didn’t think existed, I’ve started reading the richest man in Babylon and I feel like I’ve learnt so much that it worries me I truly have no financial knowledge apart from your videos but I want to get involved and learn so that I can have a different freedom and a better future, the course is something I’m very interested in because it seems much more then a financial guide but it is a major investment for me, I’m concerned that the base level of knowledge required to comprehend and utilise is going to be to complex for me I just need a bit more direction in my life and my future and I want this to help me but I can’t invest so much money into something I can’t understand so I’m wondering how explicit is it? And how much knowledge do you think is required to jump in? Im sorry for this essay of a question but anything would help :)

Pertaining to the part - getting paid based on the value - I finally caught on to how easy it was to spend too much time (aka get sucked into) paying attention to how many followers / subscribers / patrons are coming and going. It would zap the enthusiasm and focus from me and took a while to recover. Now I definitely have a place in my mind where I pay attention and process information as it is relevant... and never stop thinking about the full vision (and value). Because I finally realized that watching the numbers is a total mind f*c/! It's within the channel of content and community that I want to be.
Entrepreneurship is my mindset. I don’t really like clocking off, though I know even at the point I am at financially speaking I need to invest time in being at peace and in healthy mind. That means investing time in downtime. Yet, I believe in getting the right foundational structure in place now, like eating right and meditating and taking care of my emotions/nervous system. Then as I gain health, stability and a better grasp of my energy and drive I will better be able to implement myself in my entrepreneurial work. Also I discover that being creative takes a different mindset than for example monotonous tasks. You often can’t put as clear a timeframe around it and, for me, creativity sometimes needs patience and calmness in order to execute beautiful deep works of art. Whether it’s a video or written work or developing the direction of a project. It can be frightening to take time to turn inwards if deadlines are screaming at you, so knowing how to do that is, in my opinion, a super skill(that I am honing). Love this channel!
So much yes to all of this! I have always questioned the status quo, even tried the 9-5 things, and after a few years of that my defining mind set shift moments were.... 1. Asking for permission to take a day off. No, no and NO! 2. Freedom of self expression squashed due to regulations on hair color, or style and being told what I can or cannot wear. No thanks! 3. (Biggest one) Realizing I can turn my passions that I intend to use to help people change their lives can become reality

Second time watching this. I need to keep watching this! I've even added it to "watch later" in hopes that youtube shows it again. I'm sort of stuck in the employee mind set. It is probably more a fear of freedom and lack of security... I fear being stuck without a place to stay, without food to eat... This is a ridiculous thought though, because it was only when I was actually employed that I was earning so little that I had to walk 2 hours to and from work (4 hours); I also had to make the decision to "fast" every other week because I was being payed biweekly and always ran out of money. This is probably more of a rant for me to remind myself... All the same, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating the content that you do. Regular job is a fails sense of security! I have learned it after almost 10 years rubbing shoulders with corporate regional managers, VP and senior engineers, as well and developing revolutionary technologies in the company saving about 40% of overhead. Then one day I have received an email notification that I was layoff among other people during first few months of COVID. I’m happy now doing business on my own )

I love your videos I only found you 2 days ago, your such an inspiration as a female boss, this rebellious side I've always had as a child but was always looked down on or frowned upon. But I feel so deeply this is calling for me I'm also an empath so feel I'm always looking for solutions for others constantly, so I feel I have foundation to become entrepreneur I am currently at uni and am told I dont need this buisness degree to become a business owner but for me its knowledge and terminology I'm learning. I really do want financial freedom its what I think about day and night to the point its driving me crazy! You’re channel and enthusiasm has been instrumental in this change and finally at 50 I’m pursuing financial independence and freedom. Thank you for your light and guidance. One question: Should I set up my limited company first (I’m based in the uk) or work on additional income streams first? - I will keep my day job going until I can switch over effectively.
Clinging to and amassing stuff outside ('abundance') reflects an inner void. This inner void will never be filled up by searching for abundance in the outside world. Maybe one day you arrive at this point too :) It's why billionaires can't stop amassing stuff and accumulate wealth in amounts they can never use up in one lifetime. Inner abundance has nothing to do with outer abundance. The search and clinging to in the outside world for perfectionism, beauty, wealth, love, and so on, always reflects the exact thing that is missing inside. It is why we have arrived at this ecological crisis. Humans failing to recognize abundance and freedom has nothing to do with accumulating things in the outside. True freedom will come when all will be taken from you - money, houses, even health and love and you still feel safe, loved and free. Namaste!
I've been both. I've owned 3 businesses in my life, each lasted only about 5 years before the industry or economy changed. I ended up back as an employee, a very knowledgeable one, but you don't get paid for all you bring to the table in a non - management role. I love THE FREEDOM of self employment, the money varies depending on income & expense ratio's. Net is what matters not gross and too many owners get hung upon what they grossed. Then when you ask them how much they kept after expenses, you find out they netted as much as if they had a regular job minus taxes. Make sure your a SELF STARTER and are dedicated. You also better LOVE what your investing in as a business SUBJUCT, better LOVE DOING IT or you'll grow to hate it cuz you'll be dealing with it so much of it.

I work in the Adventure Tourism market in the Blue Mountains, Australia, and spend hours racking my brain trying to figure out a way I could profoundly impact the lives of others through difficult and emotionally challenging Adventure. I'm extremely passionate about helping to lift others up, and provide experiences and lessons which they may otherwise never get to experience (I pride myself on doing my best to provide this to all clients! As a hearing impaired Adventure Guide, I was reduced to tears when one day a lovely lady was so appreciative of my service that she wrote a $2600 cheque to assist in the purchase of new hearing aids! Holy Guacamole!! The enormous generosity and compassion of some people absolutely blows my mind💕) . The drive is there, the hunger and expertise in the field is there...but the idea, the golden lightbulb moment, so far eludes me. 🤔 Btw, nice jacket! 😊

Hi! I do brand design and a biiig part of the process is analysing who's your target audience and what are their preferences, how to reach them. We set in place the communication strategy, the tone of voice, create a visual identity that speaks to the right people... Anyways what I wanted to say is that there are professionals out there that help businesses to figure out all these things. And I completely understand that this is not obvious or easy, cause it took me years to learn. Good luck with your entrepreneurship!

I'd love to be free like you said and teach this to my 11 year old daughter as well, but all the people surrounding us are stuck in their employee/ security mindset, including friends and family. I used to think something was wrong with me. Having my first job in high school, I took it so seriously and cared so much about it that other employees would make fun of me for it. Years and years, jobs and jobs later, I realized the pattern. Out of college it became very clear that I had an "entrepreneur" mindset but kept trying to be satisfied as an employee. I am an outgoing and high-energy person, so the day-in-and-day-out stuff left me bored and thinking of the "next thing". Working for yourself is very rewarding for a mindset like this, but that learning curve is a doozy!!! Having a role model is so very important as you will need their opinion/advice as you learn this way of making a living. Have a mentor (or two) and keep doing what you love that's getting results and you will never be bored or tired of your job.
I LOVE this video. I feel like you fill the void of a RU-vid channel I have been craving but didn't see! Which reinforces the idea that my perspective can also be valuable in an online space, if I find it's hard to see content I really resonate with and relate to. I feel like I'm surrounded in a world of employees sometimes, and have been learning being the odd one but happy usually means you are going the right way in life
I am still a worker-mindset person. But I’m try so hard to change that. In my family money was Alexander issue. We lived good but it was an issue that stayed tattooed in my mind. And I am aware now that my feelings on money comes from that time.hope I’ll change that and cross reference my experiences with yours one day 💪
Love what you are doing. Gives me hope and inspiration. My mother has been self employed my entire life which allowed us (my mother, brother, and I) to be able to leave abuse and oppression. It has often also been a source of financial instability. When I was younger I thought it was because she was self employed, however, now I know that although she was brilliant at what she did, she did not have any financial know how or seek out the people and things to learn. She didn't know that she didn't know! We are so lucky these days to have access to so much information at our finger tips. Thank you for what you are doing.

Thank you for such a great video, conforting me 100% in my own choice to be an entrepreneur :) I have been expending my wings for just over a year, and I am still learning the emotional roller coster of this life ! But getting better so so fast. I think we can add to your list : working on yourself constantly, evolving as a human being daily, in so many aspects of it. Dealing with stress by yourself is probably one of the best thing that can happen when you switch to this life (oh I do hate that stress all the time though!) because you have to be stronger each time and you have to learn and find those solutions to succeed. And then you just do it ! And you have no excuse anymore cause in the end you know you have done it already and will be able to do it again, and better ! Anyway, I agree with all that you said and it's a good source of motivation to watch this video, so thank you once again !
I'm a government employee for nearly ten years and it was in 2018 when I first embarked on entrepreneurship. It was mainly out of frustration to the system I was in, nothing more. To my surprise, I found this new field as challenging and interesting unlike my current job which turns out to be mind-dumbing and life-sucking. (I don't want to sound ungrateful here, of course I am thankful for my government position as we hardly felt the ill- effects of pandemic economically, but then there are trade-offs.) Indeed, something great could definitely come out from a dire situation. I am such a lover of knowledge, too. I like learning. I adore the idea of re-inventing, continuous and serious innovation. Entrepreneurship provided me that. Not to brag, but I think I got so many skillsets that I thought might just be wasted if I stay in one career all my life. I can honestly say I can be my own company! I might quit my job next year due to migration (hubby got a career overseas). By then, I'd have all the time to focus on my entrepreneurial endeavors and I can't tell you how excited I am! This channel is equipping me all the needed preparation for that, huge thanks to you Sorelle and to your noble work! 😍

As a manager assistant, I see how much better we could do with my managers but they are not good at delegating and when they do, the thing they are forwarding to me is messy as f, it's quite frustrating, takes a long while to put in order and I have to live with the idea that they may decide to burn it the next day. I know it's not easy to learn to delegate, I had a bit of an experience myself, especially when you have traits of perfectionism (usually going along with the - illusional - need of control), and I let them be as they are. My job is just what you say: free them, make space and time for them to focus on their projects. I see things this way: if my work is invisible, then it means my job is well done. This helped me a lot to realise that. So I'm enjoying it and I don't care if they don't understand what I'm doing (and wish they were less yearning for validation from me - and everyone - too, that would give us the ability to get much further, exchange, create and innovate more). So I'm good but up for improvement and really if someone is inspired on this subject, then I'd be glad to hear from:)
Working endless hours is not an issue when I am passionate about what I m doing. The hardest point for me is finding what I can impact and what problems I can solve. I hope I can do this in the near future. Great video, once again.
I am still an employee in a construction company, even though I decided I'm going to start my own business out of my side hustle. I started making and sharpening knives for extra money, then decided to start a RU-vid channel also. Now my goal is to elevate my business so I can fully rely on myself.
Here's the thing: I've been an entrepreneur, and I've been an employee (a lot) - I can do both, neither suits me well. I'm currently walking a third path - professional artist. In early days, this means I have to be employed by someone else (art doesn't pay well, early days), but spend my 'outside-of-work' time thinking and acting like an entrepreneur. Definitely challenging, hugely frustrating, sometimes just a whole lot of fun. But damn few people talk about this path. I may have to start my own channel.

I've never been an entrepreneur but I am an employee now and I hate it :( However I can tell that I am also not an entrepreneur kind of person, I do not have that mindset... I studied Fine Arts and as I have no entrepreneurial mind or courage I ditched art and took a Caring job. It is soooo not for me and I go to work unmotivated every day and my soul is telling me to wake up and dive into the arts finally! But I can not be my own boss as I never take control over my time, I don't generate many ideas and I keep living in fear... I like your idea of a third path. As I am in both positions - enterpreneur and employee i do believe there are overlapping values in place that makes it possible. If a person see the purpose of their main driving force in both.. Teaching jewelry design at Art Academy for young designers and running my own jewelry brand gives me the drive for life! As of the pension funds you mentioned.. in Latvia the average pension is 365eur and 1/4 of the retired population get less than 200 eur / month.. seems like a total nonsense to me. So i do also value the freedom of choosing where and how to provide decent retirement as we all know the governments will definitely NOT take responsibility and care.. thank you, Sorelle! Recently changing jobs because I was stuck in a place with toxic management. I absolutely hate the process of pretty much begging someone to let you out of the crappy place you've found yourself in. I don't know that we'll shake the world but we're working towards taking off on our own in regenerative agriculture. I can't imagine that we'll be much more than mellow farmers but all I really want is to make enough to live quietly on our own terms.
