WINNER ANNOUNCED! socc3rmom757. I took my regular key and key fob and put it in a switch blade key fob. Sorry, I no longer have a working link to the fob. Trasponder Removal- • Hyundai Sensor Extract...
Just received mine in the mail today after almost 3 weeks from the same seller you used. You made this look so easy so I'm going to try it for my 15 Elantra. I was told the car had no transponder. so we shall see tomorrow. Thanks for the great video!
+locoboof Well took me an hour to get it done but i got it. Another plus was i went to a local locksmith to get the key cut and they did it for me for free! Awesome key for under 10$ lol
Hello locoboof, I own a 2013 Hyundai Elantra Limited. I've been experiencing rough idling & sometimes smelling gas fumes inside the car. I have a few other concerns, but I'll post them at another time. Btw I love your videos.
I have a 2013 Hyundai Elantra GLS as well. But when I press the lock button on my remote twice, it honks. Letting me know the security system is armed. Does yours not have this feature?
Just wanted to comment here that your video has very good instructions. I was able to use a skinny drill bit to hammer the pin out. I purchased the item in the description for my 2013 Hyundai Elantra. The 33 key blade worked fine at the locksmith, but he had to manually file it down little by little to "fine tune it". He just tried it in the door, then the ignition over and over again filing it down a little each time. $8.00 That being said, the manufacturing quality of those key blades is shit. On that 33 blade, the "peg" (where the pin slides through) is too big to fit into the slot in the spring-holding piece. I purchased a second since they were so cheap, but it had the same defect. I have a dremel so I just trimmed down the top and sides of that peg and managed to make it fit, so be warned about that. Otherwise the thing is great now that I managed to get the key blade inserted. Buttons work fine and the spring key is responsive.
🤔 the link is gone. I have an USA Veloster here in the Netherlands. You're video popped up in Google search. So back on the search for the correct flipkey fop. Btw great video thanks 😉
+locoboof , thanks for this,I've been looking to combine my keyless and actual key into one. One question though; would you happen to know if the 2014 hyundai elantra gt has a transponder to it? would the ebay link also be compatible with my car?
+Lj Castillo if your original key fob looks like mine, then it should fit. As for your key having a transponder,I'm not sure. You'd have to do some googling.
My 2014 Hyundai Sonata GLS keys look EXACTLY like the Elantra keys in the video, I'm wondering if it's safe to assume that there is no transponder in my keys as well???
Hey locoboof I been a fan of yours since the first video u made of unboxing a pocket bike since then I was hooked and you started my pocket bike craze I watched all your videos over and over lol and wish u would post at least one time a week but I know your probably busy either way just wanted to send some real words of encouragement from ur #1 fan Edwin from camden nj all the way across the country thanx for it videos!
It’s been 7 years since I made this video. I can totally understand a link from 2012 not working anymore. Maybe try these? rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F323762635269 rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F391932726943
What is the chance of the key snapping off when turning it in the ignition? Just didn't know since I figured the quality wouldn't be the greatest with it being cheap...
Is there a website you used to yo find out if you have a transponder? I have the same vehicle, same year. I just can’t figure out if mine has the transponder or not.
locoboof, I found a few fobs online but none of them I'm seeing says "elantra" they say elantra sonata genis and in the discription it doesn't even say elantra. can u post a link where u purchased?
Do you have a link to a current fob that could potentially be bought on amazon? I'm trying to make the switch to the new key but that link doesn't work and another posted in the comments would take over a month to get here. Thanks!
Do you think this one would work? www.amazon.com/Replacement-Hyundai-Elantra-Folding-Keyless/dp/B07F1V8TX3/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1540840043&sr=8-13&keywords=remote+key+shell+case+for+hyundai+elantra
This is somewhat unrelated, but when you hit your lock button twice, it doesn’t do the little chime horn. Did you disable that yourself, and if so, do you remember how? I’ve been trying to figure that out.
You did awesome on this video, I also have the same year and model you have. I went to eBay and tried to find the folding key fob you have and I can’t find it. Can you provide a link to it please? Thanks!
@@112188Francisco no, unfortunately I never found that exact one. I found only a couple that might work but the only difference was it didn’t have the button for the panic which my oem fob has. The one I found also look like it was old and out dated.
Unfortunately the fob that i ordered only came with the big blade. Do you think it it will still work if they shave it down enough or will it still not work?
+Celty Best you can take the blade and see if it fits in your car. If it does, then it's the right key and go ahead and have a locksmith cut it to your car. If you go to put it in and it doesn't fit, then get the correct key. Don't mess your car up. Let those jerks know you need the smaller blade
Hey.. Why didn't your car beep when you locked it? And.. Have any idea how to change the plate light? One guy goes inside the trunk.. Another popped the cover from outside. Which have you done? :)
+Gail Wickers oh ok.... Yeah I have a video where I changed all the interior lights as well as the license plate light. I did a video and uploaded it awhile ago. I'm glad you got the answers you were looking for. :)
Quick question. I went to Ebay following your link in the description but when you check car compatibility, it's saying that it is not compatible with a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. I am looking at it and everything looks exactly the same as the one in your video so I am thinking that the listing is wrong but it's still throwing me off so I wanted to double check with you and make sure that this is the same one from your video. Can you double check the link in your description and verify this is the same model? Hopefully this is just an error on the Ebay page, I really want to order this! Thanks a ton!
sorry to ask, but do you know if the 2015 Hyundai Elantra SE key has a transponder or not? I've been trying to research it, but I haven't come across any information about it.
i suggest you take it to your nearest ace hardware store.. they have a device that scans for transponder chips in keys, i got mine checked, turned out it didn't have one.

Great video thanks. About the fob, I'd like to point out that the quality is poor. Plastic looks like refurbished lego :( Also my Elantra 2013 has a transponder and if you drop your key then you need a screwdriver to open it and put at the right place. I've tried to stick it but don't want to use a glue to make it permanent :) Not a solution for me. I wouldn't recommend to buy it if your key has the transponder. Doesn't worth it.
Luis Jacob an easy was to check is go to your local hardware store have a copy of the key made on just a plain metal key and see if it starts the car. If the plain metal key starts the car it's probably safe to assume there is no transponder chip. The Hyundai we have I'm assuming doesn't have a chip because we have 3 keys cut exactly the same 2 normal and 1 metal (from Hyundai) but I'm not sure if it starts the car I haven't tried it
I just purchased this car! I can do this mod by myself. What an awesome 2nd key to have in your purse just in case you lose your main key..for only a few dollars!
had a slight "oh shit" moment after I failed to find the spare key and cut the top of my key off with a dremel anyway and began grinding it to size but it worked out in the end. Buttons don't feel as quality as the ones in your vid look. Might just try finding a new case that's a little more solid.
Oh i just noticed it but i found lot of different ones but they dont have the red button in the backk so i wonder if it stills works with pht the read button
I know this video is old. I have the same exact car, model, year and color you have. My key have a transponder chip inside. I don't understand how yours doesn't have the transponder. I don't know if you still have this car or not anymore.
