This shouldn't be taught. Divots are not a part of the game.. You don't need to rip the course up in order to hit a good shot. My HC is 7 & I don't take any divots at all. I might take a small divot once in a blue moon on a practice swing but it 100% reduces your distance and increases sway/mobility which alters your shot.

The best PGA players take a divot. Maybe if you did your handicap could be lower.

@@brucewatt9390 anytime I take a divot in my shot on accident it always messes my shot up and I lose like 20yds. All it does is put more wear & tear on your club face/shaft, & destroy the course IMO.

@@andrewvogrin1074Arguing that lowering the launch angle will decrease distance… thats certainly a hot take 😂 I’m gonna open the face on my 4 iron and see if I can hit it over 300!
