Great tutorial, mate.. Been pretty good with my feet lately but theres always room for improvement and your videos will definetly help my technique (always do).
Thanks Conor, last time I Comment on your video I was stuck but I analysed Lev Yashin on youtube and there's one clip of him taking a long ball which was what my coach told me to do, I really analysed the technique and I could get to the half-way line. We completely lost this season but we had a new manager (although I don't like excuses) with 1 point in 10 games :/ . But we got SO much better n the cup at the end of the season, we all did and we won against our rivals in the final! The final wins we deffinetaly because of the goalkicks! But now comming from this video I can see not to sink my hips and other tips and kick it even better! This was maybe the best video in months (not to say the others were bad) was put together brilliantly, thanks Conor, your channel is really helpful!
Watching all of your distribution videos has led me to be able to kick to midfield as a small 14 year old. I am extremely grateful. Nice video as always.

every time i take goal kicks it goes wrong i dont know if its power or aim even if i kick it hard enough the aim seems to be going wrong so thank you connor for another amazing video keep up the good work
i played my last game before the christmas break we got beat 5 goals to none my defence was not doing the job like they are meant to so i was getting battered i kept my team in the game i was pulling some amazing saves but i am disapointed we did not win
Connor, good video today. I sent your video to my two younger GKs to give them a different voice as we have been just talking about goal kicks . Your points were good . One thing I get GKs to do is bring ball more inside 6 box ( in off corner ) to balance field . Correct on short game. Depends on team tactics and ability of gk and defense to recognize when it’s on .( mistakes seen at pro levels for sure )
for anyone that’s struggling with goal kicks, keep the numbers that Conor’s mentioning in mind but don’t focus on them too much because u take the best goal kicks if u just do what your intuition says; if you worry about the numbers too much you’re going to think while striking the ball and if u do that you’ll never hit a ball correctly.

I used to find my kicks were worse when I just tried to get as much power behind a kick, I changed and focused on technique and connection which I found distance just came naturally.

Awesome video Only problem is that in austria u12 the ball cannot pass the halfway line before contact So distance is not an option But it really helped me get the backspin
Conor I don't think you understand how this will help, I'm a 15 yr old keeper that is struggling with this no matter how many videos I watch or how many times i practice I cant find the perfect kicking position. Me and my teammates both agree that apart from the the goal kick I am a pretty good keep and they say that is the only major problem that is letting me and my team down, anyway thanks for the video!
Great video Con! Is it strange that off the floor goal kicks I kick with my left foot but out my hands I kick with my right , scouts have always asked me about it and I’ve always said it’s just how I’ve done it my whole life
Hey Conor, I find that I can only toe-poke the ball, as I've only got a handful of years of football under my belt which is often a big barrier to performing basic fundamentals of football. Coming from of a bit more of a rugby background my kicks out of my hand have never been an issue but I really struggle to transition the same technique or similar technique to goal kicks from off the 6 yard box. Toe poking does work for me and I make them work and they don't seem to hurt my toe much and I've managed to get a certain degree of accuracy in doing so but I don't really see it being viable long term. on a good day I may get about 40~ yards. I think also my problem is my lack of swing back - how do you think I should to get as much swing - slowing everything down and doing "dry" kicks?
(3:41) I have a question - what do you mean by "older" and "younger" goalkeepers? I am 16 (In February 2022 - 17) and I have very big problem with my goalkick distance. I don't know in which group am I. My coach said: It's about age. But after your film I am not so sure...
Another great vid Con, but I’ve come across a similar problem with being in that age range in between old and young and need to improve my kicking distance, but what sort of basic strength and conditioning would you recommend?
At 35 years of age I started playing again after 21 years or so. I can only hit 1/3 distance of the field and practising for longer kinda hurts my foot.

Great video as always Con, I just have a small issue kicking on uneven/bad ground because the ball is lower in the ground it's harder to get height, are there any ways to avoid this? Love the content man💪
Yeah I understand, if it's for a Goalkick then try and place it in an area that it's easier to kick from, but if it's mid game it's quite hard! You just have to try and concentrate on your connection!
