As a Black woman who changes her hair often I very conflicted about which look to take my photos in. I alternate between different protective styles. I have a lighter complexion, and while I’m not mixed race, I have some level of racial ambiguity. Different hairstyles/colors change my look completely. It seems trivial but I’m genuinely torn on how to present. Black, Waist Length, Box Braids are my go to most often… should I take my photos in braids? or my natural fro (even though my hair isn’t usually styled that way)?

I hear this often with models who are stuck with bigger agencies with no work. Sometimes smaller agencies are best for money. Apply to whichever you attract most to!
Can I apply to the same modeling agency in 2 different states on their website? Like For example, Miami & NewYork for Next management agency Or do I just apply to one state a agency?
You are applying to agency to represent you in certain states. So to answer your question yes. If you are apply to IMG New York, you will likely only be represented in New York.
The agency I wanna sign with is in a different country. Theyre an international agency. Can I still sign with them even though I dont live in the same country?
There are different ways around this. I know most models need a visa signing in the U.S. from outside the state. Did into some research to see what exactly is needed!
I want to be a model but i have tattoos. When taking digitals is it best to cover them with makeup or to show them so that they know ? & also thanks for the amazing tips 💗
I think it is best to do what your most comfortable with. I have noticed many models that choose to pose at the end. Ultimately its how you look most comfortable.
This is super dependent on who you are applying for... some agencies want a 100% natural look and some will like to see you style your hair minimally. I would say that protective styles are fine for digitals, but some will ask to see your natural hair. Some top agencies will even ask to add hair extensions to fill it out if it is 4A hair texture and above. It's just really hard to say right now because the modeling industry is really just now giving love to black models. Yet alone, be comfortable with our protective hair styles. To be safe, style is naturally.
If I’m going towards a more alternative model, should I still remove my facial piercings? I also have stretched ears, should I also leave out my plugs?🙃
I don't think you should for at least 3 photos if that is the look you want to be presented as. To be safe, you may want extra pictures without it so they can see your natural self. Most agencies ask to remove all piercings because they want to see what look is best for you. For the plugs, I've seen models do digitals with and without them! That would be your gamble. :)
I'm 5'4 34 years weight 190 40DDD or 42D behind is Big have a hour glass figurec I been a minutes when I was a kid I did dance and parents I saw a add on Instagram for a New York City Modeling Agency on Instagram and I sign up with a picture they checked my Instagram and I got a call from an Image consultant for NYC Model in no time I got a free photoshoot but since I don't have a portfolio already she wanted me pay $400 to get a portfolio but I really think that is too much and I'm on budget at the moment so I know someone who is the music industry and he know a photographer.
