Simplest way to write notes: - pens with 4 colors are more are really helpful. 🌈 - Highlight important things or definitions - Bullets and dashes are best. - Handwriting doesn't need to be neat but readable.
LMAO ME, god my cursive is so all over the place, since I have to write so fast to keep up. Loll And I can barley even note off of it. Because its so crazy. 💀
heychieve i personally think good handwriting isn’t actually that important tbh. i prefer notes with consistent writings (the same look) that are not lying on the lines (like in the middle between two lines)
@@kjriqiri6187 same😂 all my friends make summaries and I just never make them, I just read everything in the book. I'm like everything stands in your book why do you need to write down everything again?
@@bobthetaco1057 I like toe rewrite my notes for exams cause my original notes are literal dogshit non-legible so it turns out neater, more concise and easy to remember when you're rewriting.
Because it’s kinda easier to write in that font, rather than the typical handwriting. Usually the notes turn out way more organized and basically easier to read and learn if you write it like that. It’s the simplest way to make your handwriting look better because it’s the most simple font in my opinion. Of course there are many more, and some people find it easier to write in fonts like handy or martine script or even italics, but those need a little bit more time to turn out perfect. That’s why every person with a good handwriting has the same writing style in my opinion.
Zey Zey JaniceStudies did a video on how to get near handwriting and she mentions about the hand position you use for writing comfortably. You wanna choose a hand position that’s comfortable and not uncomfortable otherwise you’ll end up feeling like your hand is tired.
@@hamdibear2103 there was no point but some people think pretty notes automatically also means pretty grades. yeah, she had to learn it through the hard way.
she literally took down a whole page of random useless notes to teach us, she is most definitely NOT lazy lol edit- 200+ likes omg i did not expect that thank youu!
guys, don’t spend all your time making pretty notes in school. you’ll end up missing important parts. write your notes however you want in school, then using another notebook rewrite your notes nicely or “ *aesthetically* “
i wanted to do it, but i realized that when i get home, i have to do my homework, and i have to study, but i can’t do that, if i don’t have the notes, and rewrite my notes takes a lot of times, so i just ✨can’t ✨
The nerd: I have so many notes The Aesthetic kid: I have pretty notes Lazy kid: you guys take notes? Techno kid: who takes physical notes anymore? Always Absent kid: what are the notes? Normies: are we using the notes on the test? Me: we had a test?
"how to take pretty notes for lazy people" Step 1: Get a paper and a pen Step 2: Realize you're lazy and can't do any of the above Step 3: Procrastinate instead and watch youtube videos about taking pretty notes Step 4: Realize you've used up all of your study time watching RU-vid me: ight imma head out *realizes I'm too lazy to even head out*
If you cant somehow record it then I reccomend going through the topic beforehand like if you're learning about thermodynamics just breef through the chapter and get a rough understanding so when the lecture begins you kind of know what you're doing so you don't really have to rush as much.
I did the same thing when I watched a biography of Beethoven. Later in the lunch break when I finished eating,I eat pretty fast, so that’s why I had lots of time, I copied them on a different paper and organized them there. You don’t have to do it at school though, you can just do it at home. But I recommend spending your breaks to do that little amount of work, and maybe even already start with homework, since you probably have a lot to study at home mainly because studying there in peace & quiet is better. Hope I could somehow help you. And remember, Namjoon said that he’ll shave your eyebrows off if you don’t study well. Bye fellow ARMY. 💜
I remember when my friend was doing notes, she wants it so neat and pretty, she messed up one time and almost threw it, I said "Ill take it", then boom, with 3 words I have notess
The fact that you’re left handed makes me feel for better because as a leftie, I have trouble with handwriting, calligraphy, many things like that. This inspired me 🥺
I guess it’s good to be nerdy, because we will all know who is gonna be the person to pass an exam and do well in school, and obviously that’s the one who is the “nerd”...
I believe for some students fancy organised notes are helpful to remember. I mean when you're putting so much effort on it you have no other choice but remembering it. But uni students get less time making notes and they often study only for exams, like you know, in the night before the exams. I'm sure most of the uni students follow this technique for note making, I personally don't even use highlighters, I just box out the important parts. That's it. Well, another realistic and helpful video. Love you!!!
Omg so underrated I am the 2nd in class and i have a really beautiful handwriting but the 1st girl has a really big and messy handwriting 🙃 WHYYYYYYYYY
Honestly just 2 are enough I recommend a grey (a neutral colour that goes well with anything and use it to highlight all the headings) and a colour that you like for keywords and stuff
I usually use an ABA system for studying. A = messy/rough in-class notes (usually too much unnecessary or redundant info in here) B = "pretty" notes. Around 1-2 pgs front&back for each chapter/concept. Color coded and concise. Use these the week/s leading up to exam. A = quick, messy, only the most important info. Mnemonics for info that just isn't sticking/can't be condensed more (long formulas, lists, names etc.,). Around a page for entire exam. Use this the day/hour before exam. Not sure if anyone else uses this type of method/has any suggestions on how to make it more effective. Lmk if you do! :)
Nimisha thanks for the question! I've tweaked this method a bit since the quarantine started so the B section is way longer than normal. Basically you have to schedule your week out backwards. Most professors will have a day or two in which their homework is usually due (most commonly for me it's Sundays). At the beginning of the semester look at the syllabus to see how extensive the assignments are and estimate how long they'll take to complete on average. Add an extra day for emergencies, that's homework time. The day or two before that is when you should be taking the pretty notes. And the first day in the schedule would be when you take your class. Ex: Monday - Online Class meeting (A notes) Tuesday - B notes (~1 hr) Wednesday - B notes (~1 hr) Thursday - B notes (~1 hr) Friday - Work on HW Saturday - " " Sunday - " " & turn in This is a pretty rough version and yours will probably turn out a bit more complex to fit in tests, review sessions, more class meetings, projects, etc. As for accountability I've found that taking it day by day helps a lot. Sometimes when you look at the big picture it can seem overwhelming and lead to a feeling of helplessness. If you plan your week out beforehand then it allows you to focus on just that day's schedule. Knowing that you only have to study for about an hour that day is a lot less taxing than knowing you have to study around 6+ hrs a week. Basically just convince yourself: "this task is easy and will be over in no time" Sorry for the super long response, I hope at least some of it helps! 💕
Anjali ooh that's good! Like a cornell type section. I'll usually just put a question mark next to notes that don't make sense but then I forget to ask about them during class. Having a separate section would probably help out a lot more. Thank you for this!
*For people on here saying they don’t have nice enough handwriting:* over the summer or in downtime practice your handwriting in the way you want it to look, sounds weird but it definitely helped me - I’m a lefty so my writing was so bad lol
How I take notes: MAIN SUBJECT _______________ • note • Subtopic (if there is one) _________________________ • note • note • more notes Rinse and repeat 😂😂
*highschool girls do this and get 60% on tests* Edit: Jesus, why is everyone so serious under the comment? This just is a joke and it's not target to you.
@@yohello4203 yeah they do, the point of notes is to help students to study better instead of making it so fancy and fake to share them on instagram. Unfortunately many ppl around me(mostly girls) care more on the looks
THANK YOU!!! I'M NOT LAZY BUT I HAVE ADHD AND GET DISTRACTED EASILY OR END UP NEEDING TO RUSH NOTES BUT WRITING CUTE AND ORGANIZED NOTES MAKES IT MORE STIMULATING TO DO AND EASIER TO LOOK BACK AT TO STUDY! So this really helps me stay motivated to take notes and study when I don't have all the time (or attention) in the world
Taking pretty notes like this actually showed a drastic increase in my grades + made me engaged even in the most boring classes!! Now a days if a teacher says the smallest thing I just write it down, knowing I might need it later
Tip: if you're broke and lazy and you don't wanna spend on cute highlights, use pens of 2 colours (i use black and blue). If you have a pen of only one colour, use different symbols/bullet points for a heading and subheading. For example, the main title can be underlined and in all caps. The subheading can be with an arrow bullet mark and no underline. The questions can be marked with number marks and the answers can be written using a dot bullet mark.
what annoys me is when my teacher tells the class: “Not picking favourites, but Jasmine, (me) and Daisy, (my friend) have the neatest hand writing in the class.“ When actually, Daisy’s is amazing and mines absolute crap :|
I've realized the one thing that separates good notes from bade is writing on the lines. i used to scribble down on the page like it was a coloring book because i was trying to save paper, but now i write neatly and ON THE LINES and it stands out. Also, I only need 1 highlighter: i highlight for titles and underline with it for subtitles and important things. I also use it to make boxes for side notes or graphs.
Emal Kip um no how are u gonna study if there so messy u can’t even read them? Plus idk about ur school......BUT my middle grades notes so.....that’s just u
@@medicalmay7607 hi ! well the big problem is gonna be efficienty, finishing to write something before the teacher passes on something else is already a struggle, so keeping clean notes is neither possible nor a good option, my solution has been to write only the things that aren't on the teacher's slide then make flash cards with my note + the slide, it's been working well so far, good luck ! hopefully you'll like med school with all its flaws :)
Anthony J These notes would probably be more for revision notes. Like writing down neater versions at the end of the day of all your lectures. I know some people for lecture notes just write whatever is needed raw or on post it’s, etc. Then take time to rewrite it either as a way to study or just organize.
"Julius Caesar" I actually hate that. history. I spent my whole night to review that for the test. But the next day it wasn't even included on the test. Ok bye
I definitely feel you!!! I’m kinda obsessive compulsive when it comes to my handwriting since high school. I feel so jealous with people that naturally have good handwriting, then there’s me who have to rewrite my notes in order to study peacefully
for the people asking who does this - me, i do and i dont even review them afterwards, i just show them off to anyone who was absent during the day of note-taking :)
the way i use colors when taking notes is use the color that i asigned to each subject. For instance biology is green, so i color it green in my timetable to have some visual aid when having a glance at it and my notes are done all black with titles either made of or higlihted with green
Guys all you need for good handwriting is consistency and even spacing. You could write letters the prettiest way but if it's all over the place then it's gonna look messy.
When you want to take your time and have it neatly written out like that Teacher: You got 30 seconds to write this down, then I'm going to the next slide Me: Squints at screen trying to see what it says, even though I already have glasses Also Me: Looks like I have no just but to scribble write. At the begging of the year I always have time to write neatly, as time passes by, I barely have any time. I've just started high school this year and because of Covid I won't have to write that much, all we do is look at our computer.
I like the fact that it's a short video in which you're getting straight to the point you're making. 'Cause it's about taking good looking notes efficiently without spending too much time on it You really helped me. Thanks! 😊
Tips (if it helps I don't know) -make points it is easier to cram at last min. -when you are revising just underline the phrase or word in the points that are EXTREMELY important. Don't paint everything. -just use a highlighter to put a line under the headers just for aesthetic touch. -make charts or tree charts, easier for cramming. -give enough space between lines so your eyes don't feel frustrated. -you can also write some examples that your teacher gave to explain that topic with a pencil. So that when you read it again you are not like what the heck is that.
