@@musikhamster01 Isn't the whole point of this video just common sense? Even med students who still use paper don't use more than 4 colours of pens and do way with 1 or 2 diff. highlighters. Also a single highlighter lasts a whole sem and pens are still cheap as they come.
@@shenanigans4177 The thing that I wanted to point out was: throughout study tubers people might get the assumption of needing to have the most expansive things, whereas the no name local thing can be as good.
Where to get affordable stationery in the uk: Wilko: Pastel highlighters Coloured ballpoints Normal ballpoints (my favourite r bic but idk if u can get them there) Bendy clear ruler (good for small pencil cases) Pencil cases Notebooks (I like the Oxford Campus Notebook but I’m pretty sure u can’t get that there, WHSmith might have alternatives) Ringbinders Lever arch binders Grid paper pads Lined paper pads And that’s the basics! Of course there r other places but those r very accessible :)
The Official Queen of Chickens! I bought the Oxford campus book there was a 3 for 2 offer so I bought 3 for like £13.99.......i think, it might not be cheap compared to other books but you are paying for the quality and you can scan your pages on the app so that’s a plus
I used to find pens everywhere when I was in highschool, only bought two pens in those 7 years, and what was before I started xD Luckily my brothers keep losing their pens so the circle of life (or pens in this case) can continue
well most of your neatest notes are not going to happen at the actual class its gonna happen at home. i have 2 notebooks for each class. a small note one for in class notes and a binder at home to rewrite my notes and study
Supplies I use for cheap notes: Black pen ( for sub- headings) Blue pen ( for little bit of body) Highlight ( For titles and highlighting main points ) Pencil ( for maths, drawings ) Eraser
I have an alternative for tip 2. You can use faux calligraphy instead of buying a whole other pen. You may also combine the two tips and make faux calligraphy in a different color.
The tips would probably be largely the same. The bullet journal method is really no frills at its core and if you’re happy with a minimal-ish color theme, you can pretty much take all of these tips and apply them to a bullet journal - maybe just with the addition of some cheap colored ballpoints other than red and blue. The most expensive thing should be the journal itself but that’s really only if you’re dead set on the Liechtenstein dotted notebook aesthetic. My first bullet journal was a $2 graph paper composition notebook.
write everything down in class, don’t worry about if it looks neat and when youre home rewrite your notes and make them neat. you’ll learn it faster with this way
i love this video because lots of “budget” videos are just the cheaper end of still really expensive products so it was nice to see some actually cheap supplies :)
to people who see my comment and are watching this, i love to take notes, but I end up buying stationery such as mild liners that I don’t really use that often, you don’t need to have ur notes to look pretty, you js need notes that will help you! :)
When I was in highschool, I took notes just with a set of rainbow ballpoints. They were messy as hell, but every 10 mins or so I'd switch pens to the next color in the rainbow - it actually made it super easy to find things in my notes because I'd remember what color I was writing in for whatever specific point I was trying to find. Organisation by overstimulation ✨
just scribble them and rewrite them at home if you have the time and motivation (also I'm imagining a literally mix of eminem and cardi b as one person 😂😂)
Anyone who lives near a Daiso or Miniso I definitely recommend,, I love shopping at these two stores for stationary since it's cheap but good quality! Well, almost all are good quality haha
uwujisungs I agree they are good quality I’ve been using some mechanical pencils from there and so far none has broke. The ones I bought from Tokyo may of looked cute but they were horrible quality.
Thanks! You gave us confidence. It isn't just the cost, it really takes a while if we keep opening and closing various colored pens, highlighters, choosing what stationery item or color to use. It makes the whole process of note taking more tiresome and time consuming. Simpler is better, less is more ♥
Thank you for this video! I'm in university and I keep getting recommended videos of iPad pros with fancy pencils taking notes and I need someone to emphasize this - neatness is purely aesthetic, please don't spend your money on stationery or technology because in the end it's the content that matters. If it makes you feel good to do homework cleanly and study, then go for it. But as you grow old, only a single pen and a pencil will be enough because you will have no time to make cutesy notes. Great tips in the video! X
In my country, the Philippines, all the teachers for every subject always checks and grades our notebooks every semester and it's also a part of our grades so in my class it's always a battle for who wrote the most pages and who has the most aesthetic notes. I'm in highschool btw.
This used to be my method when I had no idea of studygram or studyblr and your video kinda brings me back to reality. Thank you very much for being real
Damn, just watching you write pleases me. Your handwriting is beautiful and the alphabets are evenly spaced. I'm pretty sure people compliment your handwriting a lot.
She means that normally people use a lot of amazing expensive stationery, s and she made this to show people you can do cute notes with simple and cheap pens...
Finally a video that doesn't include big calligraphy and midliners or tombow brush pens and aesthetic notes I don't even how people find so much time to do that
I feel like she focuses too much on it appearing "smart" but the most that will achieve is an occasional compliment that is immediately forgotten. I think it is far more important to take quality content notes because the real reason you are here is education. You won't need to fool ppl into thinking u r smart or putting forth effort if u actually just put in effort. It will get a lot farther, and obviously u can still have neat notes but I think it's better to cut out the unnecessary and time consuming step of making the notes pretty. In a few years or even months u will be far happier with the results of working hard than a plethora of pretty notes and an illusion of organization.
I agree, in college I majored in biology so I would have pages and pages of notes to memorize and I’d write them out to help remember. If I were to sit there and make it look pretty too I would’ve been there for days, it seems like a waste of time imo but to each their own
To each their own, I guess. I have known some people with the prettiest notes, but who were mediocre students. In that case, pretty notes didn't work for them. In my case, I write "pretty" notes as I'm a visual/kinesthetic learner. Sometimes I rewrite them, and I never actually study them in the traditional way, just by rewriting everything stays in my mind.
Idk but for me I always struggled with actually taking in the information on my notes, my friend noticed that so she started helping me out on how to take neater notes and we shared pens and highlighters to make our notes look neat and I did notice that I was understanding things better also my grades were improving :)
girl just saved me cause I got a whole playlist of pens and stuff and now I don't have to go broke again on midliners, pentels, and whitellines notebooks. thx
Me being a stationery addict be like "Papermate inkjoy pens" Me: no use energels "They're much cheaper than pentel energels" Me: you called me out "The best erasers are the-" Me: black ones "White ones" Me: ... "Don't suffer with the pink one" Me: what about the black ones...?
I've never understand the point of spending tons of money on buying stationery (even if you can afford it). In my head, notes are simply functional and you don't need to spend hours trying to make them *aesthetically pleasing* because you will never use them again!
oh you re so cute!! Being a person who can buy everything that i want, i find it really adorable, bc almost nobody thinks in other ways to give tips when it comes for people who don’t own a lot of money to buy all the things that they “list to buy”, and you did it very well and cute ^^ sorry if it has mistakes, english is not my mother language 🤗~
I wish I wouldve seen this video when I was younget and hungry for pens but couldn't afford any. Something as simple as stationary and note-taking are important for many, and I'm glad you made a video that takes into consideration those who just can't afford buying so much stationary.
For me, I highly recommend getting multi-colored ink pens because you get to have other colors in one. So instead of having to carry a ton of different color pens with you, you can just bring one pen with you instead. Not only that, but you can also switch between colors easily when taking notes. You can get them in packs for really cheap, and I highly recommend checking out the brand Bic for the multi-colored pens. Hope this helps!
This is a worry people have? Since high school Im only equipped with a roller pen and a simple notebook. I'm soon graduating and I never needed color, highlights, stationaries, rulers or anything for studying except my brain.
lol same. You literally need to have some generic pens or a pencil and a ruler (not important tho) and done. why do people care about highlighters or some washi tapes? Does that make your brain bigger or smth- i think its just because it becomes satisfying to look at your notes after, but still, its going too far. sorry for mistakes, forgive my russian soul.
In my case doing pretty notes makes studying for me so enjoyable. I absorve the information real quick than when i write messy, and actually i think that's the reason they do it. Although it's true that buying expensive stuff is not necessary. A Bic pen, highlighter and paper is all you need.
