Oops, too late. I’ve been letting my beardie sleep on my chest after lights out since the second night I got him. He likes my down blanket draped over us. I put him in his enclosure after a few hours together and he is completely zonked out until his lights come back on in the morning. They are so cute!
That's awesome! My first beardy I got locally and we handled him right away. My second (current) is skittish and was shipped to me. When being shipped thru go through so much, it's nice to give them the time to settle in. Some need it and some don't. Glad to hear you're enjoying your new friend!
@@Midwest_Lizard_Mom Thank you! I adore him. He’s so mellow, he let me shine the light through his tail to see if he was a boy or a girl. Thank you for the videos!
You are awesome! Thank you, you’re very kind. I would like to hear about adolescence and behavior during the transition. My guy still hates to be held. He knows I am his bug dealer and I also feed him with tongs and can pet him. I am trying so hard to follow the rules. I would love it if you could do a live chat. How’s the snake doing?
Re your beardy, it can take time. How long have you had him? Have you been his only owner, or was he a rescue? It could be their personality. It could be how they're being approached. Or maybe they aren't ready. I don't do live chats at the moment, sorry. Maybe someday. My hognose is going well! Maybe I should do an update on him.
Thank you for your videos. Your videos don’t make me feel like I’m doomed to fail or that I’m an idiot. Question. When should we start bathing our new juvenile beardie? After the two weeks bonding? Or even later? Thank you.
I'm so glad you're finding them helpful! 😀 Re bathing... if they walk through their poo, then definiately bathe them. Otherwise, I would wait the two weeks, unless they're older and really friendly. Every dragon is different, so the 2 weeks or so is more of a guideline than a hard rule. Also don't be hard on yourself. You're learning and I'm sure are doing great!
Held mine right from the rip!!! It’s been 7 days and he sleep with me now!!! Holding them is a lie especially if your gentle and don’t act as a threat.
It depends on the beardy, how they got to you, their age. Mine was very young, was shipped to me, and was skittish according to the breeder. I wouldn't say it's a lie, it's more best practice. Glad things worked out for you.
