I've been tattooing for years. Really i believe your videos are very well put together. Very informative, and the fact that you show the techniques as you explain them is probably very helpful to those watching. It's very relieving to see someone make these videos with others in mind. Most artists are very secretive and rude about showing people things. Even through my apprenticeship I myself honestly never gained any true knowledge or understanding of the right ways to do things. Mostly learned by observing others, and trial and error. So i very much appreciate you dedicating your time to help those with the same interest!!!
I watch your videos with my morning coffee on the daily. You are so incredibly talented and informative. I’ve worked in shops for years prior to opening my own and it’s mind blowing how secretive tattoo artists are! You have created such a positive platform for us tattoo artists working towards perfecting our craft, I appreciate you so much! ⚡️🤍
Most informative tattoo videos I’ve seen to date. These are similar techniques to what I learned in the pen. Came home 8 years ago and never fully adjusted to coils. Tatted all over the world, including England, btwn RAF Lakenheath and Mildenhall. After watching your vids, I junked the coils and went back to my roots. Feels just like old times. No longer trippin over my gradients or stressing over portraits. Keep doin the damn thang homie. So many artists are stuck up and stingy w information. Your contributions are greatly appreciated. Your craftsmanship is superb.👌
Really impressed with the tips . I’ve been tattooing for a while, but never had a proper tutorial. But your videos teach a lot just like learning from school . 🙂 Thank you Oliver.
Thanks for this video, I've been looking at this style of shading for a while and I really want to change to it completely rather than mags. This was super informative and I'm on it tomorrow !!! 😎
Honestly had no idea you could shade on skin pretty much how you do on paper.. I thought it was all circles. Thanks for the enlightening tips. This opens up a whole world of tattooing for me! Maybe the best tutorial Ive seen really
Nice work and great video! at about 8:50 you mentioned using a liner with quick motions for stipple-type shading instead of using mags. I think that's a great idea for smaller areas and I'd take that up one notch by suggesting what I do, which is use a 9RS for that. It works great and helps to keep hamburgering to a minimum. Love your work!
I’ve learned a lot from your video sir, now I’m stoked to tattoo someone with lighter skin. I’ll better try this awesome techniques and knowledge you teach great clip anyway
Hey Oliver thanks for taking the time to share this information Question : Do you change the voltage on the machine when switching from lines to stippling shade ?
Oliver first off thank I for pouring into us all your patience and and skills I appreciate u 💯Bless u... quick question what speed was ur power supply set on for that shadeing
Hey great video, nice to see someone in the UK Stippling, did you say your needle depth voltage and stroke is the same for stippling as when you line please? I whip and dotwork but I'd love to add stippling to my portfolio, respect 👍
thank you so much for this amazing video the question that I have is I have been a scratcher quote for the last three years and I've never done any on real skin fake skin the foam but I've been practicing for 3 years and it doesn't seem like I'm getting any better it seems like I'm stuck please help any kind of advice would help and you have an amazing voice. Thank you.
Thank You so much Oliver for that videos! You are awesome! I have a few questions: How do you clean the needle so there isn't any water? What to do when cartridge splashes? Do you use always same voltage for lining and shading? or you change it? Do you change voltage when you use other colors? Do you use dettol to reflect the pattern? I've heard some tatuators put their elbows on their knees to gain better stability, Do you think it's a good idea? What do you use for the pattern so it won't go down? Thank you so much again!
Looks amazing!Thank you for all the tips you sharing with us. I am a beginner tattoist and would like to know what you use during the tatto to wash it with..is it like some sort of cleaning solution ?
did anybody watch whole video, you guys asking him a stupid question,he explaine everyting from voltage for stppling to stroke. watch then ask. Thank yoU OLIVER
That slowmo effect your camera is making is caused by a combination of a fast shutter speed and the frame rate, if you slow down the shutter speed it will give the motion blur effect that our eyes see and make the video look real
Great info on techniques which is the style going on seems Eastern European and didn’t think to use different shades in stilpling shading but on other pieces that look like you actually have to staple dot by dot ?Have you ever used the actual dot by dot technique before ?
Hey Oliver, thank you so much for all the videos, I watch them every day. It is very helpful, but I have one question and if you can answer me it would be great, if you have time of course, So I am a beginner, and sometimes (not all the time) when I do tattoos ( line or something black ) there are not black and bold enough. It falls off when it heals. I told my friends to come back for corection, but I want to be better. is it hand speed or smth, that I should work on more?
Hope all is well...big fan of your work...when your stippling in a light area and dark area, can you go over it with a mag without overworking the skin?
Thanks for this! Question. When you’re doing the stippling, how much needle is going into the skin? Is it the same as if you were lining? I’m having trouble registering solid looking dots.
I probably should start paying you mentoring fee's 😂 I knew about tattooing a little when I got my machines but your videos are so helpful and in depth! Anyone that I've spoke to about techniques and set-ups is very much held to their chest which is irritating but I get it! Keep making these vids man! You're a boss 👍👍👍👍
Woow I feel so dumb 😅😂🤦 I've always been trying to do this type of shade work with a mag but it's so much harder^^ can't wait for my next client 💉✌🏾🙏🏾 Thanks soooo much for this tip 🙏🏾💯💪 you're amazing 😎🙏🏾💯
It seems like no matter what technique I use, or how much volts I use, or whether I use round or magnum shaders I still need to go over the area about 20 times or more in order to get a full dark shade. I'm using Dragonhawk two coil shadding and colour packing machines with Starbright Ink. I've seen so many professional and even beginner artist get a full dark shade with much less. Do you know what I might be doing wrong, or have any ideas that might help me?.
Hi this is Carrie again I just left you a question but I've been watching videos and practicing and practicing for the last three years this is the first time I ever seen what this technique that you're doing right now is this the first time I seen it so last night after watching this video I went upstairs in my tattoo studio which makes me mad to unbelievable terms that a prisoner can do this tattooing with a staple pee water should from a pencil and a deck of playing cards I have a whole studio a whole complete Studio inside my house I have three different kinds of rotary five to six different kinds of eight coils I have about 10 to 15 different kinds of 10 coil machines but after watching your video last night my artwork has improved tenfold thank you so much I didn't think that you could shade with a smaller needle like that I've been using a 7 flat 13 flat or a 15 flat trying to get my shading so much smoother I ain't going to use them no more I'm going to use your Technique and thank you so much I appreciate it. so I answered my own damn question thank you.
What if you start from the top and wipe going up so it doesn't mess the stencil up?.I'm still new and early in the game but been liking starting from the top lol
Me personally I take distilled water for safety and cleanness and run the needle through the water until all the ink is gone and dip or use different needles which ever is better for you.
