I don’t have a big fancy horse bred for Dressage, I have a 14.3hh part bred who had a foal last year. I broke her in my self she’s still understanding schooling but my dream is to have a Dressage horse, so I thought why don’t I do it my self! These videos are helping me understand so much and my pony is learning new things and taking to it so well. I watch these videos when I’m home all day and wow it does help soo much.. so well done keep making theses amazing videos with your beautiful horses.

Thank you for these videos that can be applied to lower levels. It really shows the progress of working the transitions within the trot. It's nice to see how her trot gets more expressive through the video as she starts to get it.

I watched your video this morning, and tried your technique a few hours later with my 6 yo Dutch mare. I think I was able to improve her trot cadence and expression. She had fun with it and enjoyed being able to move out so thank you for sharing this. I will continue to build on what I achieved today.

Wow, gorgeous! I have a big bay PRE Mare who is so smart I must constantly make small changes. She’s a bit like “I’ve got this mom. I’m taking over control!” I find your videos so helpful AND quite inspirational. Would love to see a video on bringing horses along in dressage who weren’t started correctly. How to progress and what to expect in re-training.

i’m currently working on a horse that hasn’t been ridden for a while due to the owners conditions, he still knows all the basics and is such a good boy but i wanna get to a point with him where i can impress his owner and show her what he’s capable of, he’s so trainable but gets disgraced bless him. this video will definitely come in handy ❤️❤️

I have a 11 YO Arab gelding that I have just started training in medium trot which I am having difficulty in him sitting enough and lifting the front. So I have been doing shoulder in the half halt to bigger slower trot across a short diagonal line. So looking forward to trying your technique. If you have any other suggestions that you think would be helpful since Arabs tend to not sit very well, that would be appreciated. Thanks for the lovely demonstration.

@Begijnhoeve_official
@Begijnhoeve_official 3 года назад
Did you see the other videos abou transitions and the contact? That is practically how I train to make the horses wait. Fanatique is also a horse who only wants to go.... teach the horses first to wait so practice that u can put your hands forward without the horse going forward if so make a transition to walk halt en repeat 1.... x times 🤪 until he want to wait en than forward on the leg. With the legs if they over react it’s good to keep them on first until they relax. Now i am writing this you just give me a good idea for a new video.... How to use your legs. Thanks! 😎

Wow I just found your channel and I’m totally obsessed I think I binged watched almost all your videos in 24 hours. I’m so thankful that they are in English, loving the videos From all the way in Colorado USA. It’s is so helpful to watch you ride the less experienced horses so many videos they are show how to start changes or what ever movements but the horses clearly already know them inside and out. I really think you have the best videos for dressage out there. I have a few videos ideas I would love to see. Lessons I think it might be helpful to see you teach maybe more of an amateur riding, in the beginning stages of upper leave work. You guys are such incredible Riders it can be tough to imagine ever being anywhere close to as good as you lol. I would love to see a video on what you are looking for in your un started 2/3 year olds and why. I’m sure I will think of more. Thank you again for taking the time!

When you ask her to lengthen the stride. What is the ideal feeling in the reins? Is it becoming lighter or slightly fuller in the reins?
@Begijnhoeve_official
@Begijnhoeve_official 3 года назад
The goal is that she stay light to keep the freedom in de gates and frame. As I thought I mention in the video. When they become strong in the contact than you go back to transitions and other basic stuff to make it supple again and continue the trot after.
@jean6006
@jean6006 3 года назад
I watched it a few times. You did mention that she becomes lighter yes. I have a horse in training that becomes fuller in the reins, without getting heavier which, results in him having a slighter longer length of stride in the trot. Thank you for all the magnificent work. Greetings from South Africa
@Begijnhoeve_official
@Begijnhoeve_official 3 года назад

@sandra4equifino52
@sandra4equifino52 3 года назад
@@jean6006 Not sure how I got here, but I feel the need to “say” something:) You are very right, the feel in the rein should be fuller, not heavier, but because one really important part of a quality extension is a change in frame, meaning the horse stretches its frame forward. If you do not feel more of a lovely contact in the rein, something isn’t right:)
@Begijnhoeve_official
@Begijnhoeve_official 3 года назад
@equifino well the video isn’t about extended trot.... but you are right in extended trot the frame needs to extend. But in any case in my opinion it will look more beautiful when the horse moves on their own legs as much as possible! If u see my other video’s about the contact u will see that I do not want the horse go off the bit and also seek the hand all the time in all exercises without pulling. I just don’t like it if riders push and pull their horses into a big trot 😇
