It's really interesting to hear viewpoints from Japanese men about dating foreign women, I was saddened by that one guy though who thought that foreign women would never date a Japanese guy, as in the past I've dated 3 Japanese guys although married a Brit in the end but that was just by chance and the fact the one J-guy went back to Japan and broke my heart lol I'll always remember him saying though that in Japan I would be considered fat, even though I'm considered slim in the UK, luckily for him I put his insensitivity down to the language barrier and cultural differences! ha ha

On average, guys in Japan are so much more attractive to me than guys here in the States. That's why I was so happy there. Whenever I was having a bad day, I would just look around for the young, attractive, stylishly dressed Japanese guys to brighten up my day...Heaven. Too bad I had to come back. 1:22 was most my type, I think. :D

So that's how they are. I traveled to Japan on May and got looking and smiling from Japanese guys lots while walking on street (someone called me "excuse me Miss, Hello" at Kyoto tower). At first, I though I might be look weird or something. So, okay, they interested in me that make me glad. :)

It's so strange to hear this perspective! I am an Australian woman and I lived in Chiba, Japan for 1 year. I happen to find Asian men very attractive as well as loving Asian cultures, particularly Japanese culture, but I often heard that Asian men, though they may find western women physically attractive, would still prefer marrying within their own race and culture. Though I am Australian, my own values are much more inline with Japanese values and culture but despite this, no one ever showed interest and I felt this was due to the fact I am western. I have lived in Asia, in Africa, in Australia, in Europe and am now settled in Germany, and so I have been exposed to many cultures and ethnicities, yet I still prefer Asian men when it comes down to it. Unfortunately the Japanese community in my region is rather non-existent haha. Ah well, it's the way the cookie crumbles!

I think friendship should be established first, so long as what you are looking for is starting your family. I know that this may not make much sense to a lot of young people but, think about it like this... Most people I know plan to get married at some point. Early on that person inspires so much passion and heat. Over time, as you get to know each other you both become predictable. If there is no foundation of friendship and trust, odds are, that relationship will not last. If there is that strong foundation, the relationship becomes comfortable and safe, you just have to keep the fire and passion together in trust for your children because that is the kind of relationship you want them to experience in hopes that they took can know the joys you share.

I've always been attracted to foreigners (I'm French) and more especially by people from asian countries because our cultures are so different. it would make dating difficult but SO much more interesting (is what I always thought...) I really think from this video that Japanese guys are really nice when trying to approach girls ( I was like "omg man buying me a drink in hot weather and starting a causal conversation with me too on the road will be like the best thing ever! so sweet and normal a girl wont feel shy or nervous") they're quite open and act actively when they want, also feels ok about girls approaching them. I recently studied in a Japanese high school for a month and became friends with this guy who was one of my host sister's close friends. He would hug me quite often and try his very best at speaking to me in English and would always call me smart and tell me I should study at a Japanese university one day. When a small group of friends and I went up the Shibuya scramble tower, he told me how it's his dream to come up the tower with his girlfriend one day. When I was walking down the staircase leaving the high school on the last day of my study, I heard him calling my name. He ran down a flight of stairs to hug me and say goodbye one last time. Now I can't stop thinking about him but i'm unsure if he was interested in me or whether he was just being friendly ://.

The Latin and Asian communities co-exist together, but I haven't seen much interactions in terms of dating. So, the question has come up as to why there are not more Latinas dating Asian men. What do you think? I always thought Asian were not interested in Latin women.

Ok so I have been living in Japan for years and to be honest I never thought Japanese guys would be interested in foreign girls, which sucks because I definently like Japanese guys haha. I'm doing an exchange year in Japan right now and I'm the manager (along with four other girls) of a boy's sports team and there is this one boy in the team that I have a really hard crush on. He often talks to me and even told me that I'm cute several times (which I guess isn't that usual among Japanese boys?
