It is true, many complex hybrids on most popular ornamental plants have been manipulated to last longer and therefore the plants are not fertile anymore. Happy holiday season Lyn, and a very successful and happy 2019🎅🌲🌠🌟

Hi Ellen :-D the berries can take up to a year before they are ready for harvesting, sometimes the fruits can take much sooner, but it can take a year, you will know when they are ready for the picking when the little fruits feel soft and squishy to touch like a little grape, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching, and sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER for a terrific Tuesday XXXX
I tried pollinating it this year and noticed that they did swell up but they still fall off. So does the ones that fall off mean they aren’t gonna work. I was confused and threw them out.
So sorry to hear that your pollination was a success but the pods fell off, sometimes this does happen as the plant aborts the pods, I am not sure why this happens and its happened to a few of mine in the past too, but its always worth trying again :-D thanks so much for your wonderful comment and for watching and sending you an abundance of love and happiness and PLANT POWER from across the Emerald Isle and HAPPY HOLIDAYS XXXXX
Hi Ellen, I dont think that the two will cross pollinate, but its definitely worth a try though, especially if you have both of them in bloom, its something I would love to test out as I sometimes have my Easter cactus blooming in March and my Thanksgiving cactus can often re bloom in the Spring, thanks so much for your wonderful comment and support and for watching and have a fantastic plant powered Wednesday XXX
