The Fluke 116 Digital HVAC Multimeter is a digital multimeter that is designed specifically for the HVAC industry. In this video, Our lead facility mechanic and HVAC specialist at Fluke demonstrates how to test a capacitor with the Fluke 116 Digital HVAC Multimeter on the rooftop of our production facility in Everett, Washington.
When testing a capacitor, simply turn the dial to the proper scale (capacitor scale). The Fluke 116 Digital HVAC Multimeter will then display a reading that will determine whether the capacitor is in good shape (based on the comparison between the capacitor rating for that particular unit and the Multimeter reading) or may need to be replaced.
When measuring continuity, simply turn the Fluke 116 dial to the Ohms function and the Fluke 116 will do the rest. This ensures that the test leads are inserted or operating correctly and the internal circuitry of the multimeter is also operating correctly.
